I find Bose sets brings in ATC alot more clear then anything else Ive ran. Ive been asking other pilots opinions on what they run for treble levels more clear. What do you run on your head to bring other pilots or ATC more understandable. The noise cancellation is incredible. But asking other pilots there opinions to see what y'all run I might find a better set. Lossed mossed my hearing in Iraq so just asking around. Safe flying my friend.
Practice... I had an instructor during my primary training that insisted that being sloppy on the ground was "unprofessional" and would insist I land on the center line and taxi on the center line as well. After I got my certificate I found I was very comfortable on narrow runways, short runways took a little longer.

I used to flight instruct at Potomac back way before 9/11 when it was still Friendly/P.G. Airpark. Larry DeAngelis was the designated examiner there in those days. Back then it only had about 1600 feet of runway due to a land dispute. Good times long gone. We wound up moving the operation to Maryland airport a few miles south. I still fly over it often going in and out of DCA.

The end reminds me of the time back in 2008 I got to play around with giant "toy" planes out in the Mojave bone yard. Probably one of the most memorable days ever. I climbed up into a Delta L1011, a KLM 747-3 and even an old cargo 747-200 PRE-GUTTED! It was just flown in so all the classic analog gauges and engineer station were there. It's crazy how high you sit up there.

I grew up in N. California. My two brothers and my sister would rent a Cessna and fly into the Nut Tree Airport. My brother was the oldest at 15 being the pilot, and people would stare at us LOL. Great memories. RIP my idol, my mentor, my big brother!
Very cool you flew into KMEB on your second leg. Took my dad there soon after getting my private in 2012. They had several 707s, 727s and a KLM 777. Looks like the planes have changed and a LOT added, but those Oshkosh support equipment are there to stay!

I've been to that boneyard! I saw the screenshot and knew it had to be. Confirmed when you landed on Runway 5 by that old MD-11. I tried to talk the boneyard owners to let me do a story there...they weren't having it. LOL. That place is COOL!
My dad was an employee for North West in Minneapolis, his first job was doing hull mods to extend the life of there 747-100 fleet, ultimately the mods didn't work as intended and were more expensive than just buying new planes, so most were just scrapped or donated, one of these with the hull mods can be seen at the Smithsonian which you can walk up to and inside.
There's nothing like a trip that's measured in SPH snacks per hour. If you had an engine out & had to spend all night up there, you wouldn't go hungry!

Spent 16 years wrenching on those NWA DC-10s, and did work on 6602, and 6603 many times over the years. Sad to see them like they are now 6602 was #40 off the line, and 6603 was # 45 off the line in Everett. Both delivered in May 1970. To bad I couldn't make out the tail number on that DC-10. Nice video as usual.
@@mannfan12 Ahhhh 6602 and 6603 are both 747-151's they were made in Everett. By stating those DC-10's, I may have led you to think I was including the 747's. Didn't mean to confuse. I worked on every model of DC-10 made, including the KC-10, and the DC-10-15, of which there were very few of the -15's made. The DC-10-15 were a high performance model of the DC-10-10, built for flying out of high elevation airports in South America. CF6-50 engines on the -15. Hot Rod. That DC-10 is a -30, but which one would be nice to know. I remember those airplanes when they were up and ruining, in good shape, and ready to fly, breaks my heart to see them like that. See those airplanes didn't have maintenance data computers in them to tell you what's wrong, so when they broke, the mechanics were the maintenance computers.
The FRZ is interesting. You can't enter the FRZ (15 mile radius around the Washington Monument) without first registering with the TSA and getting a PIN. I flew regularly (when I could afford it) out of Manassas, VA (KHEF) and it is outside the FRZ but still in the SFRA (Special Flight Restrictions Area - 30 mile radius from the monument). We refer to the two zones as "Freeze" and "Suffer", respectively.
MG nice flying in the CJ Mustang, the landing was epic. Hope you're holding back 7HP under 250 knots below 10k ft.haha. So just read about some bungee cord assist deal in the control system on the BB. Does that help or do you notice it much? I assume if you pop a bungee it is still flyable. Keep up the epic flying. When you said this was the first 747 you'd been on it kinda broke my heart. I grew up flying on these beauties in the '80s when I was a little kid and I still get the most excited when I see the rare European owned '47s still flying into North America when I plane spot. I hope you get to fly on one someday. They are just something special. I actually flew jump-seat on one of the -200s in 2000 with KLM and when it started "raining" condensation on me the captain said "yeah, uhm, that happens...lol". That was probably one of the coolest vids yet. That jumbo jet grave yard was awesome! Did you have to contact atc about flying the drone? I know the FAA has become really strict about flying them near airports, though that might only apply to those with controlled airspace.
