We're really lucky to be in an era, where we can easily listen to all these wonderful scholars around the world. Also, i'm from Turkey and say hello to you fellow CBT students.
The book got me here. New to CBT, practicing it in 2 addiction recovery treatment. A good friend already uses cbt techniques like stoping friends from making bad decisions. Thank you Judy
How does the recovery model-specially the part of taking patients to environments outside the hospital and having a conversation with them regarding their interests- work for chronically ill patients who are psychotic and disoriented most of the time? Especially patients who have been hospitalized for years but still experience active symptoms.
Thank you Dr Frances for the link to Harry Stack Sullivan who revolutionized and humanized treatment for folks Dx with schizophrenia. And Schizophrenia recovery model is effective and fabulous!
I think what you are doing with this recovery model is a huge mistake and very dangerous. Youve creted this "pure" and more or less simple model that has worked and helped so many efficiently. Now youre creating a recovery model that requires so much more knowledge and sensitivity from therapist. How are most, many in Sweden are nurses or social workers who have trained as CBT therapists, going to acquire these high new skills needed for the recovery model? Why this change when this "simple" CBT has helped so many although tradional CBT will be "embedded" in the recovery model?
I'm a brasilian student in love to CBT. Thanks for this

I'm sorry if i may sound rude, but if this quoted model works fine why just don't keep using it and practicing it? It's a genuine question
