I put swel-lock on most of mine for insurance to keep heads tight. I think you can look at the MSDS and probably make your own too. It causes the wood to swell and it does not allow the wood to shrink after it dries.
I bought this axe off Amazon about a year ago. I've had no problems with it at all. I did the usual, profile the edge, oil the handle, and oil the sheath, other than that it's been a pretty solid little hatchet
This is an excellent review. I've been looking at this hatchet to use for backpacking and wanted some more info. Sounds like it's a really great little axe if you are willing to put a bit of work into it, especially at that price!
been looking at this axe. just wondering, how thick is it. the blade thin and be good for random craving tasks or is it a thick , steap bevel really only good for splitting small bits of wood around camp.
I have the 13 and the 15. I also have two Granfors (outdoor axe, Scandinavian). These Nedfoss axes are incredible for the price. Highly recommend.
They sent me the 15 inch to review and I haven’t done it yet… maybe that can be an upcoming video first impression it it looks good
For 50 bucks I’m sold!! Great vid thank you sir!!
Has held up great

I was just sent a new axe from this company to “try” and destroy. I’ll have to see if I need to try any of these techniques thanks

That’s good to know they sent me another model I just haven’t tested it yet
I nearly bought this, thanks for the heads up
Anytime
I I found handle is beachwood, whatever that is. Good hatchet for price if willing to reprofile edge. wedge replacement was neccessary
Beach wood is a type of wood between ash and hickory
Nice lesson in how to take something that's not quite what it could be and not just throw up your hands and give up on it!!
It’s a good tool just needs a little love to make it work the way you want it to.. thanks for watching
I agree with water stone over oil.... I knew that gap in front would be an issue
I put oil on metal I don’t want to wear. It was a problem but a super simple problem to fix, thanks for watching

It’s an awesome axe I use it just about every day splitting wood for the stove. Once I fixed the handle Iv had no problems anymore.
Great review brother! I really like that hatchet! Merry Christmas my friend!
Thank you brother, merry Christmas 🎁
Has this held up over time? I’m looking into purchasing this from Amazon and it just seems like one of those “too good to be true” deals.
It lives in my pack or beside my wood stove and got daily use last winter I have no complaints other than reseating the head

It’s a good mixture of the thickness
Did you get an ash handle? It says beech wood handle on Amazon
I think that handle is ash. But I’m not 100% sure. Either way it’s held up better that I could have thought
@@JDubbsadventure nice!
Might be a good one ton truck but you were trying to haul two tons with it.
It was an axe video?
Don’t put the steel wedge back in and you should not experience any problems.🖖🏻🇺🇸
I did put it back in the I use this hatchet just about every day since I've made this video and have had no problems, thanks for watching
