Nice one Rick (& Billy) After an axe/hatchet myself, this one's ticking alot of boxes, may have to take a look.. Good shout on the 1st Aid Kit, watched Lundy's vid earlier, looks like his wound is healing alright now (🤞). 😆 at Billy, almost upstaged you a few times in this, bless him (he certainly ain't camera shy like my Bud) Cheers Take care All the best D & B 👍
Haha I know he ain't lol 😂 he loves to get involved as soon ss I start talking to the camera 🤣. Funny ain't they. Yeh I've not watched Jimmy yet. I'll.have a watch tonight but aye its a good idea ro carry FA on yer person ain't it 🙂👍. Its a good little axe/ hatchet ya know. Very informative video Rick. Tips, tricks and safety i pass on to my lad in there too so i must be doing right 👏🏻 Always a pleasure to watch. Shame you didnt make it to the bushcraft show mate it was awesome. Laters dude ⛺️🔥🤙🏻
Really enjoyed this Rick a very in depth review and showcasing some great skills and uses 👌 Covering the safety and first aid kit is a must in video's like this on that note thanks for the mention mate the hand is doing really well thanks and I'm really glad I carry my Israeli bandage and Turner kit in my left trouser pocket That rain was nearly gone by the time you got that poncho on 😂😂😂 catch up soon mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi there - just discovered your channel seeking a review of the Beavercraft axe range. I'm very much looking forward to watching your vids. from the start! Take care, Eddie.
@@edwinmason123 Cheers Eddie, thankyou 🙂👍. Hope you enjoy the content. It's been good fun making them. Need to watch a few adventures back myself Cheers, atb Rick n Billydog
Great video again Rick. Billy was loving spending time out with you again as per usual. Tracy & I enjoyed watching. My first aid kit is ready for an update it's only a basic one & probably 5 or 10 years old. What do you have in yours when it's just you & Billy Dog? 👍
Cheers Ian 🙂👍. I don't carry much different than a standard first aid kit apart from a tourniquet and a quick access bleed kit, pressure bandages etc. For me and Billy, I've usually got tick removers, anti histamine etc and if I've no big tools I'll be quite lightweight with a minimal FA kit of just plasters n a couple of pressure bandages etc, tape n bits. Cheers Ian, thanks mate Atb Rick n Billydog
Came for the nice looking hatchet, staid for the glorious accent and learned a few things by watching. Subscribed! I've got my eye on the Council Tool Camp Carver.... I feel like the exaggerated styling on the lug, shoulder bump, and knob would detract from the Beavercraft AX3's utility.
@lmcc8798 hey cheers, sorry for late reply. I don't know the Camp Carver but I've heard a lot of good things about the Council Tools. I'd like to get my hands on one sometime 🙂👍. Atb Rick n Billydog
Aye I was getting nailed for sure lol 😆. Little buggers. They weren't too bad though 🙂. Yeh its a good little bit of kit for sure . Cheers Phil, atb Rick n Billydog
Hi Rick mate n Billy dog. great review. I’ve been using a Fiskars X11 for 7yrs now and solid bit kit to be fair but may invest in one those beaver crafts hatchet seems decent.100% great advice ALWAYS carry a first aid kit it’s essential! Jimmy was lucky it could of been a lot worse but glad he’s on the mend back to waffling on as he does 😂 atb Rick n Billy dog 👍🏻
Haha cheers Carl lol 😆. Yeh I've never used the Fiskars but always heard good reports about them 👍. It's good when you've had a bit of kit that long and it's been reliable. Makes it hard to use anything else lol. Cheers Carl mate, have a top week Atb Rick n Billydog
Useful to know a bit of bushcraft and fun to watch though I don't think I'm going to start making cups, spoons or such anytime soon. Shelter skills I will practice! (and do) because I see myself needing them more potentially. I've got some good kit together and yes I have a couple of axes, but I work on redundancy too - a large bergen, smaller day pack, a 58 plce belt issue, of which two pouches make up a back up emergency kit with emergency (S-o-S) tins within. I got into the survivalist thing back there a while ..lol...can you tell? I've ended up in a Prepper/ camper/ tourer who knows a bit of everything not particularly mast of any. Thing is, I've been looking to apply the grey-man principle to civvie survival. Cut down the camo where it's not required for urban camo' - a tramp looking guy on a bike or tourist cyclist, a tourist hiker, a bloke from the office with Friday down wear on - a shopper on their way home. No one takes any notice if you blend in - too busy looking at their phones most of the time. Next, ultra violet head torches that don't look military and some that do. When I've sussed I can teach and help others.
Brilliant stuff Mark, that's a great message with lots of good information and ideas for people to look at . Survival skills don't necessarily mean remote wilderness survival. An Urban situation could well occur and being the Grey man could well be a great tactic to fly under the radar so to speak. Nice one Mark, hope yer having a top weekend fella Atb Rick n Billydog
@Sanderson890 Cheers 🙂👍. Its definitely old school, I got it when I was 21 🙂. 34 years ago and it's been on my wrist every day since. Its a Seiko divers watch. It's been an absolute fantastic piece of kit 👌. Cheers fella 👍

Good advice about the First Aid Kit Rick. in fact I'd go so far as to say brilliant advice. Too few YT'ers mention the safety aspect and it should behold all of us whether camping or bushcraft to do so, people use us as 'inspiration'. That's a great looking as well as versatile little hatchet, I know what I'm putting on my Xmas list for this year.
Cheers Simon, thanks mate, aye its a cracker. Looking forward to some good winter camps carving around the camp fire with it.
