Super similar thing happened to me- As a teen I was a goth/punk, was reading books written by Anton Lavey, mutilating my body with self harm, believed in spiritualism/new age, tried to kill myself. Then one day I got an urge to attend mass and I witnessed the Holy Eucharist and it brought me to tears, sobbing.. I knew I would never be the same- soul became converted immediately, He made me new. I don't even know who that person was who I used to be.
I was 22 when I saw Sr. Emmanuel talking about Medjugorje on TV. I started fasting on bread and water on Wednesday and Friday, then I started praying the Rosary. I converted very quickly.
he is right! Many great Filipino devoted Catholics at our parish. Among all the other parishioners. Everyone there together in the spirit of Gods mercy and salvation Amen !

I remember hearing about Fr. Calloway's conversion and thought there was hope that my son could be similarly converted with enough prayer. I was also inspired by St. Monica praying for 16 years for St. Augustine whose prayers were answered for her son's conversion. Despite at least 16 years of prayers that my son (raised Catholic) would revert to the faith after becoming an atheist, he died of fentanyl poisoning at age 30 with no sign of believing in God. Now after 67 years of being a faithful praying Catholic, I now find it painful to attend Mass as my most fervant prayer that my son would be saved at some point before he died was apparently not answered. Though I still believe in Jesus, I have found peace through listening to many near death experiences that perhaps God loves my son enough to forgive him even though he died without confessing years of living in mortal sin. I just hope the Catholic Church's teachings are wrong regarding who can be saved from the fires of hell.
i really can't understand why many protestant churches out there in collaboration with the media are ready to pin down catholic faith, maliciously spreading lies and half truths about catholicism.. many fall into such a great deception they are setting up even catholics of nominal kind. truth, if seriously pursued always points to the authenticity of the roman catholic faith- the only church built/founded by JC.. none other..

I listened to the latter part of this talk after not having heard you for a while and resolve to pray and fast for you (and for many more leaders like you). I've been praying to be set free from scrupulosity which has been tempting me lately and ask you and my other sisters and brothers in the Lord to pray. It's hard to find a priest for spiritual direction. Should I keep looking ... I'm told (even by priests) that I don't need it and that there aren't enough priests anymore. Any suggestions? Thank you.
