I had a couple A&B mixes that I downloaded and took with me to Afghanistan in 2012. I listened to this mix probably over 100 times because I would play it in my ear buds while trying to fall asleep and block out the chaos going on around me since I was working nights and sleeping in the day.
What i wouldn't give just to see A&B live one more time. There is no better therapy than group therapy

This is an essential mix I fell in love with and still listen to all the time. I’ve love Above & Beyond since my ears fell on them and listen this and their podcasts daily. I’ve seen them but definitely not enough, their music is inspiring and thought provoking. Well done Jonno, Paavo & Tony, you make me smile everyday as much as my other half does. By the the way one of my favourite tunes is on this set, Formula Rossa, I love this tune and takes me back to my younger days of all nighters, what a tune.
Listen to this a few times a year... a staple on any and every road trip of mine since 2012.

I saw Above and Beyond and other Anjuna artists at Ice Palace in Miami in early 2011 in one night during Miami Music Week. To me, it’s the most legendary party. This mix brought me back to that night. I miss it all of the time

The 2004 and 2011 essential mix were before my time with A&B but no doubt stood the test of time as essential. The lovely opening & closing tracks mashed w/ spoken words & then just the absolute classy mix of tracks that follows. Thank you A&B, thank you Tony.

I remember that 2011 was the time when I first listened to Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats in general. At that time, I could still feel the progressive nuance of the music with a pumping bassline & kickdrum. We could still rarely see the typical drops with supersaw synth just like what we can easily listen to the Anjunabeats records these days. Nothing wrong with that. In reality, music is changing. And I am super happy with Above & beyond who is trying to be relevant with the current trend of electronic music.
This was a real treat, thanks so much for putting this together again!

Listened to this mix for years after it came out first. As stated by others, probably one of the best mixes I've ever heard. Such flow, such vibes, one big journey. The voice overs from different movies mixed in perfectly add to the overall story and are just cherry on the cake. Essential mix of the year was well deserved. Masterpiece.

I just got lost all over again.
The first time I heard this mix it was actually in rebellion. It was 2012 and I was and still do live in the states. I largely into drum and bass after graduating from dubstep and Netsky had an essential mix that came out in 2011. To my surprise, he didn’t win the EMOTY... Another group (unknown to me) named Above and Beyond had won the title of Essential Mix of the Year and rest is history

World Class this. Remember it like it was yesterday. Some good artists and tracks I haven’t heard in so long and some who don’t appear to be about now. Iirc, this mix came about a month after they released their Group Therapy album which still ranks as prob my fave album from A&B, so the high still off that was massive. Alot of memories and positives that come from that album which I can only be grateful to A&B for, as it had a been a difficult time for me a few months earlier. Never disappoint these men, 20 years in the game as A&B at the top and it shows. 🙏🏻💙💛🧡💚❤️💜
