Awesome brother! Honestly dropping the 800kv in has been a disappointment. I've been patiently waiting for a CDN retailer to have the 1100kv in stock.

@@philippghadiri7085 … castle makes a 12s esc its like $300 or less. It’s one of the Phoenix esc ones there 3 types. They are meant for airplanes but ppl use them on road. More for speed runs but not bash bcs of the spikes you get from gunning and stopping too often.

Nice gear but for the money the stock system is very good. Running 55mph and gearing down that's what the stock system does. But good to know.
The power level of this vs the stock is incredible. Stock is ok but this is very very wild
Stock system will do 50mph safe. Box says 55 but a safe 50. If the castle did 65
To 70 running cool then yes great upgrade it's worth it. I think the kraton needs a 10 to 12s set up to get a safe 75 mph and not cooking. Low kv big volts 45k rpm. I think.
Dam man that is impressive! I do have a request. Could you try out the 1100kv with the MMX8S esc? I know you ran that ESC with the 800kv motor and it handled it fine. Just curious since Castle isn't selling the 1100kv with the MMX8S as a combo 🤷♂️
Well I have to assume they found out the 1100 pulls over 400A easily, I currently have no plans to make adapters to run the 1100 on the MMX8s, I need to keep my MMX8s esc's alive. Sorry

I’m planning on putting this combo in my k8 this weekend... what size pinion do you recommend to keep temps cool and speed around 50-55..... I’ll be doing street bashing mostly

I had to go with a 35t and it still got a bit warm, I'd start there and see how yours runs.

I've got the 1100 in my xmaxx and should have a video up by monday, I plan to try the same 45t pinion I had with the 800kv and see if it works out, if not, I have a 40t now lol

yes but it pulls more amps doing it.
I like to see how it do with the long chassis should be able put more power down.

I know you have the vivaton bulkheads, did you have to shim the differential ring and pinion gear differently? Or did it fit in there like stock.

Funny question… is a 35 spur & 35 pinion the same as a 30 spur and a 30 pinion? Matching gears are matching gears period right lol? I just hear ppl asking redundant questions soo I’m making sure I myself an not crazy lol.

800kv, the 1100kv would most likely cause issues
What do you think about the recommendation to go with 25/35 gearing for a 1/5 1100kv motor? I guess it depends on the vehicle.
well, it didn't really like the 40/47 on this kraton, in the end gearing depends on many factors, weight, diff gearing, tire size etc.
@@ExocagedRC It sounds like too much gearing for that motor. I honestly prefer the smaller 1100kv for the xmaxx to reduce weight compared to the new bigger 1100kv motor that you tested here in order to keep weight down, but yes, this bigger 1100kv motor seems to be perfect for the K8S. Honestly I'm selling my K8S because I can't get the landings perfectly, so I'm bending driveshafts like crazy and destroying the wing mount and bolts in the process too. I'm affraid to even jump it now. And I don't want to feel like that. I'll keep the O8S because it's lighter and it seems to bend the driveshafts way less.

I got a new video to get put up of the newest Castle 1100 in the outcast and it’s awesome. Geared it modestly and still got 54mph with a lot of room for more. I’d go with the 1100 as it is now. 1 week ago I would have said 800.

Yeah that’s normal. It only comes on when needed.
I think with all that power its time for you to do the xmaxx front bumper mod...there's a video on UA-cam to show how its done

How’s the 800kv do in this application compared to 1100kv? I know the 800kv is more power but can you still stay in the high 50mph? How’s the temps on 800kv and runtime?

You’re center diff needs THICKER grease or even silicone ear plugs. Your front wheels are spinning too much.

I use their Bluetooth module and program it from my cell phone. Very easy to use and do.

Im now running this exact setup with a 39t spur and a 39t limitless spool gear for my pinion. Im also getting the excessive load code and on 1st run blew the stock tires off it lol

Just go back to Hobbywing :D it doesn't complain.
I did the 35t pinion and no more excessive load and it drove better.

I don’t run abs on anything. It was tires slipping.
