Japanese Street Food: Giant Sea Snail (Yakogai)

  • Yakogai - giant sea nail is one of Okinawa's most famous dishes. Here prepared in two ways: as Sashimi and fried with onions and garlic. Fried Yakogai is slightly chewy but still nice to eat, the texture reminds a bit of fried mushrooms, the Sashimi is tender and crisp at the same time.

      You do not know what you are talking about when it comes to freshwater. It is VERY limited. Disposition of water on earth: 98 % salt water, 2 % freshwater (of which 70% is frozen in glaciers, 29 % is in the ground and not readily available for everyone easily either. Fresh surface water is about 1,2% of all fresh water or 0,032% of all water on earth). So we got VERY LIMITED amounts of fresh water readily available. Are you guys letting those facts sink in to your minds yet? Don't waste water just because you can, your kids are going to hate you for it.

      unwnme But its sea water.... 😂

    • @CnSins
      @CnSins 7 років тому +25

      What i meant is salt water, and i dont see any problem with that, because here where i live most the half of the cities were already submerged, and the reason behind this was the continues rising of sea level and of course this was caused by global warming. Unless its drinkable water were talking here then this is not wasting.

They cook it in coconut milk or just boil them in water and you pick them out using a pick (stick of a coconut leaf) and eat them with cooked green bananas or taro. Incredibly delicious. Never had them raw. The islanders eat almost everything in the ocean, most raw, as well... UGH.. I can only eat Tuna, seaweed and a variety of urchins, raw...... Everything else has to be COOKED fully. lol

    I don't understand why people are getting so upset about water I'm glad that using a lot of water cuz you know what they're making sure the food is clean and rinsed out and everything and I think that's a great thing one thing I don't like is when people don't wash their food and then they cook it so everybody is complaining about the water issue don't complain it's so many other things to complain about
