      I think there’s organizations in Australia that farm claims so they’re able to have a better chance at survival. In the wild maybe 1 or 2 babies will survive out of the billion that the mature clam will eject. But on the clam farms 1% of the billions survive which is like a couples thousand more than if they were in the wild. But 2 out 8 of the species is extinct already.

If you've watched some of the videos where they cut meat out of shell fish like this there are a lot of people who make a post about how this is a waste of water. My message was directed at these people. Hence , read the original post for the 3rd time please.

      Goriljohn Cohen lol it's more disgusting in most of the fastfood centres if you come to know how they process their meat. btw this is fresh and edible for them. Vegetarians find chicken disgusting, few peeps find crabs and prawns disgusting. Being disgusted is subjective since it is just your perspective.

    • @Terrekain
      @Terrekain 6 років тому +1

      I don't criticize their diet, I criticize the fact that they steal their seafood from the territorial waters of other countries, while the media lies to people and claims it's "Chinese, Vietnamese, North Koreans, etc" that are doing it. Because while it's true that some of the poachers are North Koreans and the largest minority are probably Chinese, the SECOND largest minority right behind them are Japanese who flag and impersonate other nationalities - and MUCH of what everybody poaches is sold to Japan anyway. It's actually much worse than that because the Japanese are technologically literate which means they can strip the area of fish more efficiently than anyone else can - although the Chinese are catching up, they're not nearly as adept at hiding their identities; in a way, they're almost more honest because they honestly believe they "own" the sea that is "Named for them" (snort*, and the entire Indian Ocean belongs to India?).

    dear comments section, when living creatures are "so old" they will eventually die in nature. and for being so old, it means the clam may have had a chance at reproduction. if you're concerned about over fishing, you should youtube a tuna cannery video and maybe not shade the small okinawan seafood store that has literally less than 10 clams in their tank

    Not only have you taken time in preparing such a rarely seen dish - but in the description you're even open & honest about it not tasting as Good (texture-wise etc) than the more cherished Geoduck (pronounced 'Gooey-duck') clam!
    You're not one of those UA-camrs just shout +ve stuff like everything's brilliant. That is exemplary, thank you! 👍

As you can see, she is good at handling clams. I know where to go to get nice clams handled. But I like my clams tight and small, they taste better because everyone knows that clams that have been enlarge tastes like filth, kinda like you're eating a little bit of everything that that clam has ever eaten it's whole life.

      Frank Teng maybe the clam does feel pain. All animals who have defense systems should have some nerve system that makes them want to survive. I would just say even IF it feels pain it's still ok since everybody eats chicken, pork, beef and those animals definitely feel a lot of pain like people. Seafood feels very different primitive pain

      I think "street food" refers to something you eat in the open, like a fish market or something like that. We have something similar in my country, they serve you a variety of foods you can eat on the go, or have a sit four 30 minutes to eat, but you're not necesarily in a restaurant, so you're still "on the street" O:

      Alex Noneofyourbeeswax you can take it to the street and eat OR fast eat at their canteen, you may go there to feel it.

      actually it depends! if the fish is fresh and you keep them washed (which seems to be the case) it'll probably have a faint oceany smell, if the fish is been there for a while and your workspace isn't clean theeeeeen it'll probably smell really fishy

      They lay eggs in the flesh. The flesh you eat later. After few months you turn into a clam.

      kiwicoolgirl aj also those arent parasites they are tiny shrimp that live on the clams shell
