Jetting tip: check the float level set point. Make sure it’s in spec or your jetting selections won’t change much because the bowl won’t hold the correct amount of fuel to be pulled through the jets. If it’s too low it can cause a lean condition on the initial opening of the slide. This causes slight hesitation and possibly bog on the bottom end
my rc valve runs great! I dont know why people hate it? From low to mid range i get much more bottom end power, and when u need the top end it jumps to revving power very fast. Thats why Ricky Carmichael loved it so much. You get more low end when you need it and when that powerband kicks in you get up to speed really fast!
With that 2002 Mikuni carburetor TMX 38mm. you have to change the emulsion tube/ dump tube which came with the number 9. You should switch it to a number 7. I also put the 2004 6chy12-82 needle that is a tapered needle with the clip on the top . in the problem goes away
The 259 will forever be missed in the supercross world , RiP James Stewart's career . He should of never left his family property out in the country in Haines City Florida and moved to Orlando and did that reality TV show. The Big City life ruined him. Kinda sad :(

When the RC valve is working properly and the bike is operating properly... how would you compare it to the bikes with the non RC valve ? I don't mean reliability or maintenance wise but performance and behavior wise ? I've been looking at some CR's i wanna get a 250 and found a really good deal on a 2002. Im assuming the RC valve would help the transition from mid to top end ? is it a very noticeable difference? Personally if the RC valve isn't terribly different from the previous model engine and its possibly more problematic id rather just get a 2001 or earlier. but if its night and day between the two id be interested in one.
i would its just the price range for those is a bit out of my budget. I see those mostly going for 3-4k where as my budget would be around 1800 2k at the moment. I came across one person recently with an 02 with a fresh top end for 1500 but im not sure if i wanna jump on it just yet.

MY dumb bike is doing that, when i ride it it revs up but just gets stuck like it wont clear out in the first two gears but once i hit 3rd it runs solid, ive been trying to figure out why.............

So, what would be the common problem or fix? Replace cables or just adjust them? Issues with the servo?

The best way to adjust the Ricky Carmichael valve is to get a YZ250. 😋

Thank you Sydney! Here’s something for you: ua-cam.com/video/Epm1AKFshWw/v-deo.html

Ryan Culver dellorto carbs are the way forward. Much more tunable and when you get the float set up right makes the bike crazy responsive
