@@عليعبدالّله-ش9ه7خ not for no reason. He gets criticized for his chin. Other than that he's a great fighter and a great person. But he has a glass jaw, there's not much he can do about it
I bought headgear with a bar before that I only used open face headgear I don't see the point in taking unnecessary damage in sparring you're just hurting yourself more for when you have a real fight
de godfather if you get your nose broken in sparring you're just giving yourself unnecessary damage when you can save that for a real fight when it actually means something not sparring where there's really no winner it's just work
Irish Bomber lool I'm not saying every sparing session but u do need tough sparring for preparation and tbh I'd think joe goosen would know more than u
de godfather I didn't say you don't need good sparring the fact that you're even trying to argue tells me you aren't the one fighting and taking damage and I've been fighting my whole life I couldn't care less what you think Joe Goossen thinks he's not the one fighting either
Through 15 years of being an mma fighter I never sparred stand up with a headgear on. Now as a coach with my own gym I wouldn't dream of sparring without one. I think he is right about it toughening your skin up because I didn't ever get cut or have a black eye from sparring without one
In my opinion, I think headguards are important during training. In order for you to be really good at boxing, MMA, etc you have to have hundreds of hours of sparring matches. If all those matches are done without a head guard then you are potentially taking hundreds of hits to your head which is shaking your brain, and over time can cause damage to your brain even if you are not aware. Now when the time comes for you to fight in the ring, and you now fighting without a head guard and you have taken hundreds of hits to the head during training then a small hit in the ring can knock you out because of the damage done earlier. Michael Watson Vs Chris Eubank is a good example.
@@abbysands9510 head gear won't prevent brain injuries. It does however prevent cuts, bruises, black eyes and depending on the fighter and the head gear they are using it can prevent broken noses. But it won't stop your brain from from absorbing those impact forces that cause concussions
Maybe but it certainly lessens the impact of the blow. If we take punches to be one hundred percent and if you are not wearing headgear you are taking one hundred percent of that blow. If you wearing headgear then the impact is likely to absorb by the cushion, not all of it but some of it. It is like when you wear a helmet or motorcycle it is not going to protect you completely from the impact but it would absorb enough of it to protect your brain. I mean you would ride a motorcycle without a helmet because some of the force would still get through. For example; Imagine if you were punched in the stomach you probably hold your stomach in pain because you took one hundred percent of the blow, but not imagine if you were holding a cushion in front of your stomach, you still feel something but the cushion would absorb most of the force and you only get a little of it. This can also be said for the headgear it protects you to some extent but it doesn't make you invincible especially to head injuries.
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 However, I will state that after Chris Eubank and Michael Watson, and after many boxers started to suffer from brain decline due to their careers in boxing there was a debate to ban boxing because of the impact it did on the brain over time. Medical experts were brought in to testify to what happens to the brain over time after many boxers developed Parkinson's disease late in their life due to the impact sustained. They were unsuccessful in banning boxing so they tried a different approach and suggested that headgear be introduced into professional matches but it was deemed after more research that they would cause more brain damage than if they weren't wearing one. The reason they said it would cause more brain damage at least in the ring was that the opponent would punch a lot harder in order to overcome the extra cushion in the headgear, that it would take multiple blows to fall an opponent who was wearing headgear, fighters would not be able to see punches coming and so they would likely take multiple shots to head and this would lead to more brain damage than if they weren't wearing one.
I used to always spar with no nose bar and my nose would bleed everyday i would think my nose would just get used to it or something but na just kept bleeding
I used to fight with no nose bar which resulted in a broken nose. My nose would break during training then heal then break over and over again. I thought over time my nose would not break because it is now stronger. What can I do?
Bought a head guard with bar 2 years ago, used it zero times lol. Spar every friday past 8 months and never use head gear, although thinking about one now, as sometimes leave with head feeling bit mad from bangs. Although u adapt to it becomes minor, but possibly be effected 5-10 years down line.
I wonder how he feels about his being KO'd by Canelo, knowing that he was on PEDs??? It reminds me of Cotto when Margarito got busted before the mosely fight. Cotto was unusually damaged by the plaster wraps cheating against him.

If I, as a Scandinavian, was interviewed after becoming a Chinese citizen and boxing for China, do you think they'd be asking me what it's like "in my part of the world" and how China is "your part of the world"? No, that would be extremely insulting and insane. Amir isn't British. It's like white countries don't exist, and whites can't claim a unique identity separate from other peoples. Their countries are just market places for people to move and shop. Despite the fact that white countries are the best, because of white people, and the brown people moving to white countries are ruining them. What a joke this is. It's gonna backlash for sure.

You gotta snort salt water on the side of the nose that bleeds and after it drys a little put Vaseline around the inside of your nose.
dude put vinagre, we do that in mexico. A ex pro boxer told me that
The only problem it burns like hell
