MK 1 Selects w/ velcro in 12 oz blue I ordered were delivered yesterday. They really have that strong leather smell.....reminds me of the smell of a new pair of high end leather dress shoes. Carlo, you should do a review of the velcro version.....from what I can see, looks like the velcro version has a couple differences from the lace up's. Looking forward to trying them out when I do my bag work on Monday. From just putting them on w/o wraps they feel and look real nice so far.
Hey mate, how would these compare in fit to the the RIVAL RFX-GUERRERO SPARRING GLOVES - SF-H. Looking at a 16oz pair, would they be much bigger in shape / fit. Thanks in advance
Hey Carlo, thank you so much for the review. Since a few months have passed, what do you think of the liner inside the finger and thumb compartment. I’ve been quite sceptical, since a review on their website said that the gloves have poor quality control, and the liner was bunching up/thinning in the finger areas. And price aside. In terms of protection, comfort, quality, and durability, which is better: These, Punch Fuertes Ultra, Fighting Fury, or Top boxer Win 1?
Mannnnnn these look so nice!!!!!! I was about to order another repair of boxeo tm because they’re my favourite! How do you rate the quality of these against the tm? As much pop as a tm?
Hi Carlo! I’ve been watching your videos for a while & they’ve been so helpful. ☺️ I received my Fly superloop x’s the other day and sadly have to return them because their cuffs are way too big for my wrists & forearms. Do you think the MK1 Selects would offer great wrist protection for smaller wrists and arms? Thank you!!!
I'm sold! 🥊 Carlo, can I ask for some feedback? I'm 5'7", 140-145 lbs. Has the same hand size as yours except for my probably thinner fingers and wrists. Should I get 14oz?
Im looking at Getting either the Outslayer On1 but they are Faux leather. MK1 boxing velcro gloes are real leather. Hmmm dont know I like plenty of padding on them.
Hey Carlo, I've been stuck between two gloves for sparring. Price aside, between this and the rival rfc Guerrero sparring gloves. Which is more snug in the hand compartment and has better fist ergonomics? Thanks again
Hey Carlo, so I need a dedicated sparring glove (if it's got good pop on the bag, bonus) and I'm tossed between the win 1s (cheaper end) these, or the phenom sg210s. I prefer to spend less money, but I'm willing to save a little for quality. Do you think the jump from the win 1s to these and or the jump to the sg210s are worth the price differences?
Hey brother!! Love your reviews and I now have bought 2 pairs of superior gloves! I got the white ones in 16oz lace up and then I bought a custom pair of 18oz Yellow lace up!! My question to you is, would you recommend the superior glove or this mk1? I know there is quite a price difference between the two and I know you get what you pay for but my custom 18 Oz ones were $115 and these ones now are $140 for the MK1s so ,yeah your thoughts?? And I really love superior boxing now!! I started off with Sabas super softs and I loved those for a bit and then I went and got some Triumph United death Adler's based off of your review and I still have those gloves and I've had a couple pair of Rivals and then I've been thinking about top boxer win ones but yeah as of now the only gloves I keep are the superiors and I want one more pair for sparring and bag work and that was wondering if I should just keep the superiors or should I try these MK ones! Thank you in advance and I love your show!! Oh I forgot I also have the 16 oz Red Lace Up c17s from ring to cage that I like but not as much as I like the superior
About the offset stitching; I ordered some Salvador’s custom with one solid color on the palm and it still came with the the offset stitching. I figure their manufacture has a set standard and keeps to that. Same with mk1 I imagine
Update: 12oz laceups are amazing. 16oz velcro not good for the wrist im gonna return em. The combination of thick, protective nuckle padding with velcro (less) wrist support causes floppy wrists on impact. Might try the 16oz laceup when they restock. Love the gloves great padding and wrist support on the laceups
Looks better than fly X and Phenom fo sho. How do they stack up to the MX gloves that you own in terms of protection and feedback? I know that’s it’s apple to oranges, but they’re both still gloves
Stay away from Mk1 boxing. They made a big mistake on my order and have not been able to communicate with them. They basically scammed me of my purchase. The communication with this company is horrible.
I noticed that the velcro version doesn't have that extra seam on the palm side unlike the lace up. Right now, trying to decide between the MK 1 Selects w/ velcro or another pair of Fairtex BGV9's. I only work out on the heavy bag (my sparring days are far behind me). The MK 1's in velcro seem to resemble the Phenom 200's. The BGV9's have served me well and love how effortless it is to make a tight fist in them and the outstanding wrist support. I also have a pair of Sabas Pro's that I did not much care for...too much effort to make a good tight fist. How do these MK 1's compare ?
@@csquaredboxing Thanks....tough to make a choice these days without trying gloves in person so I really value your reviews. I am probably one of the older folks around here (Floyd Patterson was Heavyweight Champ when I was born) but I still do my rounds on the heavy bag and I understand the value of a good pair of training gloves. Just from the pictures on the website and your video, the MK 1's appear to have more of a fist curl than my Sabas Pro's. The other issue with my Sabas Pro's is they have a small, very mushy grip bar that has only gotten worst over time. To make matters a bit more complicated, I found another pair of Cleto's traditional training gloves available in 10oz . My biggest concern with the Cleto's is that the 10's are closer to 14oz than my preferred weight of 12oz. Wish I could afford them all.
OK....pulled the trigger on a pair of MK 1 Selects in 12oz blue. Was pleasantly surprised that shipping was free. Let you know how I like 'em when they get here. Thanks again for your excellent reviews.
@@justokimura6580 They are working out well. The wrist support is exceptional and they do it without any crazy overengineered double strapping system; just some stiffer/denser padding inserted in the right spots. I generally prefer a compact glove with a thinner, denser padding for bag work but the MK 1's despite having thicker padding still produce a nice crack on the bag. While they were perfectly fine right out of the box, I think they will continue to get better as they really break in and the inside of the gloves mold more to my hands. As far as sparring goes, I have not sparred in many years but I would not have any hesitation saying that with the amount of medium density padding these gloves have, in a 14 or 16 oz size they would also make great sparring gloves.
Seem to be a lot better quality than the Fly gloves. Paid almost 300.00 for the fly's and the right and left glove are completely different. A lot of problems with them, reached out to fly twice and showed them pictures and never got a response from them, seems their customer service is as bad as their quality control. Nice to see a decent glove at a reasonable price, glove prices are getting crazy expensive and quality on a lot of them are not worth it.
