I think the case with Cliff is a bit different because in story before the battle there was no scene with him fighting or encountering anyone, he was just there leading his troops, which even led me to believe the there will be 10 stages

He doesn't even fight Jessica or any other operator. He's chilling in the base until NPC arrives and then they do a cowboy duel between them.
The only actual fight that happens this event is Jessica blowing up Blacksteel transport vehicles. And there are no vehicles in the event's enemy list.
One of the few flaws of Arknights is how much they love their walls of text. Like, you need 20 minutes to read one stage worth of lore. And yes, I love your story but I ain't got the time for this shaite. Also, I want to actually play the game insted of having to read a whole essey before amd after each level. Bruh.

Small observation about Tactician Vanguards is that the main summon dying doesn't count for the refresh BUT the extra summons that Muelsyse and Beanstalk S2 have do count since they die and disappear.

Fun Fact: If you have Puzzle. Set him to his S1 and have him hit the heat vents. Because they don't lose hp (They always have max hp) it will constantly proc with talent giving him massive SP generation and constantly trigger his S1 meaning a TON of DP generation.
I used s2 instead because his poison damage recharges the vents as well and with his talent abuse he can keep the poison up permanently. Heat vents goes brrrr.

i read it yesterday and was like "oh so it's like chain caster?" but i couldn't make the boss do that attack so i thought it was a bug, thanks for explaining it xD

Bro why are you surprised the translations are scuffed when they can't even do dubs properly and just freestyle it?
I read the description of the boss after my first try when he deleted every defender I had on his second phase and was confused as well with what the hell the penetration meant.
I ended up solving the issue of his high damage in the second phase timing Shamare's doll whenever he started his special skill animation if the vents timing didn't match the moment in which he goes all john wick on the operators.
Idk what cracked operators you were using where shamare doll was enough, but when i included her with Beagle she still got destroyed.
That 20% difference with the heat vent is huge because of this game's damage formula
@@123goofyking Liskarm was the defender I used for tanking the boss, besides the modifier of the doll, there is the 10% enfeeble of Shamare's module which also helps to reduce the damage (not sure how it works in the game's damage formula though), for healing liskarm I used two healers, lumen just to remove the stun and ptilopsis (but I didn't even need to use ptilopsis skill). Not sure if I'd call Liskarm cracked, but of course it's not a 3 or 4* star.

Anytime someone asks me how melanite s2 works im going to tell them the attacks penetrate a certain distance.
any time I start ranting about yostar on stream I just say the attack penetrate a certain distance
I beat him with Deerknights and I found it easier to use physical over arts damage. Even when he takes damage from the heat vents and he has a little over 1k DEF I found it easier to use physical, because Qiubai has a 300% physical damage multiplier on her S2 and Firewatch on top of her skill damage gets extra damage from talent since Cliff is a ranged enemy. Both of them can easily handle enemies with 1k DEF.
Also to note for people who don’t know: Cliff has 60 RES in phase 1 and 70 in phase two, which is the same amount as the RES buff in chapter 9.
