@@Catgat37 Yeah I like it, just keep in mind, although its not a motorcycle, you pretty much have to consider the driving conditions are the same for these as street motorcycles. So rain driving sucks, (no windshield wipers) although as long as you're moving you dont get very wet. Definitely no snow, and like a street bike they don't like gravel roads. That aside they are great fun. The only problem I've had is the brake sensor issue (Brakes still work but the light comes on saying they aren't) Crappy switch from polaris, its common.
@@AKAOmnivore I am strongly considering one. Was looking at cars and I realized, I am retired young and I always can take my wife's car if weather is too awful. I want something fun and cool. Pretty surprised my wife is completely cool with the idea of a slingshot.
First video that really helped me wrap my mind around why the helmets.... Being it's classified as a motorcycle purposely, the safety equipment savings make it affordable. Thank you. You mentioned not using this for long trips... Ever seen a motorcyclist scooting down the highway in rain gear? They are in the for long haul. Lastly, I appreciate The comparison between other cars (you mentioned Miata a lot), however in the end I really don't see these as being close enough to compare. Let's be honest, Mazda Miata's are for fun and a means of "real transportation". The Slingshot is for people with disposable cash looking for a driving experience. But, the comparison is appreciated. Great video.
Coming from the motorcycle world this has tons of storage and you can add plenty more. Ive driven one on long distance trips(600km's or more) and love it. Many more trips planned.
i have a 2020R had a 2019 SL love these machines, remember these are registered as motorcycles. its got you surounded by lots of air so motorcycle like sort of.
Correction I bought 3 slingshots none of the first gens came stock with turbo. Ddm works . Alpha and and few other made them for adds on due to they already knew how the engine works so it was simple to change modifie the kits for the slingshot ddm works has supercharger an turbo kit in the works for gen 2 2020 to 2022 in the works should be released this summer, just so everyone knows they has never came with a turbo if u but 16 to19 if it dose not have a turbo they did not take it off it’s they never boosted it
What seats did this vehicle come with? I am interested in the sport seats and was wondering if these are the standard “comfort” seats. I’m hopeful the sport seats have more bolstering.
That’s the only reason they call it a motorcycle. One tire in the back. I have the SLR auto drive 2024. And I have a can am Spyder. It’s more like a motorcycle but it’s not. I take a road trip every month. I really love my slingshot. It’s much more like a car or a side by side..
What they should have done is design the frame for a rear subframe bolt on and sell that as a kit. So the “street legal” sales help fund the engineering for a budget Ariel atom track toy.
They brakes will hold up fine I been driving them for years 19 the brakes were shitty in 21 they were a lot tighter handle fine but in 22 they come with 4 position BREMBO brakes in the front with over size rotors son for the review for the 22 the brakes are Significantly better
@@lanceoa owning a tabla, it truly is an amazing thing. i absolutely love passing gas stations. I do understand it may not be polaris's mission, but boy if they did !!!!! As far as weight, Beef up the suspicion and you know the wheels would get more grip which i think it needs. Anyway , just a thought .
I've had one since 2017, its a people magnet for sure. Street legal go-cart.
Do you really like it? I am considering one 🤔

@@Catgat37 There are a lot of places that rent them all over the country, might be worth it to see how you like them ;-)
@@AKAOmnivore Know a place that will let me test drive one. Will talk to them next week.

It's all about your tolerance. We wouldn't road trip it, but a biker might love it for that.
I've been on road trips and bugs and other debris at high velocity don't bother me with a helmet on and they've hit my helmet hard.

Plymouth Prowler or the Chevy SSR gets way more attention…

I had a Vanderhall carmel and it got more attention than my Slingshot does.
Makes sense since the Vanderhall is way less common

People drive motorcycles across country, why would you not with this lol
You can get a roof, and there is storage behind the seats. And we like noise.

I have been wishing it was electric, IK absolutely would have one on order right now !!!!!!!! Polaris build it and they will come !!!!!!
An electric one would be so cool. But speaking with Polaris, it seems very detached from their mission with the Slingshot.
Battery would dramatically weight this thing down

What is the name of that helmet?
Imma try this but as a homemade project motorcycle 😚
There 10k mark up now

I don’t think. Eletric is cool. I don’t like noting eletric
Electric……your fucking insane! Ours does have a roof! We love it!
They finally got rid of that hideous steering wheel.
Yeah we take road trips 57 of us
Hi
Electric version...you got to be kidding...
So funny... clueless of what he is driving or what the vehicle can do😂😂😂😂
