Polish-Soviet is a really interesting war and is not talked about enough
There are hundreds of wars that are not talked about. No big deal, it's caused by people who proclaim themselves as "history and geography nerds" who can't tell where Orinoco or Kuro-Siwo is, or when any war that wasn't a world war happened.
What I'm trying to say, is that the majority of people show no interest in anything beyond WW2.
And I wouldn't call Polish-Soviet war this interesting. Just look at the video. The Poles lunge deep into Ukraine and Belarus. Soviets push them back, and several factors like experience and luck give the momentum back to the Poles, who push the Soviets back to Minsk and Kiev.
It wasn't a trench war or a shock war. Imagine two people chasing each other while taking turns of holding an axe. That's what this war was.
I can partly agree.
Partly because maybe this war was not so interesing from military point of view, but from political it has tremendous effects for future of Europe.
If Bolshevik Russia beat Poland and reach Germany then communist revolution will be spread to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia.
Who knows about further consequences ...@@koulematon7359
@@koulematon7359that is just true, the only reason why I show interest beyond ww2 it's because ww2 is that much simple. While there's a lots of wars that are weird and interesting, like the banana war, the football war, Normandy invasion of England, the stray dog war and of course, the 7 years wars also being a global war.
@@koulematon7359 whats kuro siwo

Soviets on the recording: WAR, WAR, SPREAD THE REVOLUTION 👹
Piłsudski on the recording: "Soo, uuh this shit will record my voice fr? Damn, science is crazy- 🗣"
lol
omg
"Товарищи. Великая революция, о необходимости которой говорили большевики, свершилась!"
Eng: Comrades. The great revolution, the need for which the Bolsheviks talked about, has happened!
And
"Великие победы Красной Армии избавили нас от нашествия Колчака, Юденича и почти покончили с Деникиным. Разбиты войска помещиков и капиталистов, которые хотели при помощи капиталистов всего мира восстановить своё всевластие в России"
Eng: The great victories of the Red Army save us from the invasion of Kolchak, Yudenich and almost put an end to Denikin. The troops of the landowners and capitalists, who wanted to restore their omnipotence in Russia with the help of capitalists from all over the world, were defeated.
He talked about the technology of recording voice and that the recording will be sold like cookies in the future
Starting from 0:18, Piłsudski simply speaks about recording his voice:
'I'm standing before some weird horn, thinking that my voice is about to separate from me and go see the world without me, its owner.'
funfact: on 0:18 Piłsudski is taking about recording his voice
"[...] and to think that my voice can be seprated from me and stroll off into the world without me. It's owner."
Piłsudski was a traitor.

it's insane how one battle could change the war into an exthiereing victory for the poles
For Europe Actually 🤓 Poland saved Europe from further soviet expansion as communism was really popular and it would be easy for the soviets to keep going.
Two battles. After Warsaw Tukhachevsky tried to stabilize the frontline. It was battle of Niemen river, where polish army attacked regrouping soviets that finally lead to collapse of the entire front

Interesting fact: from 0:46 blue area looks exactly like polish territory from the beginning of XIV century (when Vladislaw Lokietek was ruler of Poland)
It is in part thanks to Stalin that the poles won , he was ordered to go to Warsaw with his army but instead went to Lviv... where he was still defeated while having more troops
Stalin at this time was a member of the revolutionary military council of the southwestern front. The front commander was Egorov, not Stalin.
Stalin was indeed opponent to plans to conquer primordially Polish territories, in particular the Warsaw. But, as the commentator above said, Stalin was just one of the members of the RMC (Revolutionary Military Council), not the commander.
Make a film about the Battle of Grunwald, it's also very interesting
Russian has bigger army, more resources and not being under control of any other bigger empire ... still looses with Poland xD Why tf they attacked Ukraine then? They blind or what?
Russia was in the midst of a civil war.
The Soviets were therefore only able to deploy some of their troops.

Poland won with an army twice as small versus ZSRR and freshly after the rebirth of the state, with no time for development. 👍
the numbers are not quite right, the Poles mobilized 1.2 million people and they had weapons and the support of Great Britain and other countries
@@sanniks Poland fought against the RSFSR - it was not only Russia, but also all the republics that were part of the RSFSR. Poland fought alone. There was UK support, but only for a while. When Poland's offensive collapsed in the east, no one in the UK believed that Poland could win the war. I agree that Poland was helped, but to talk about the scale, it can be illustrated by the fact that Hungary provided the greatest help to Poland by providing ammunition (!).
@@PL_WhiteEagle I wrote a reply, but it looks like UA-cam deleted it. In short, the entente gave Poland a huge amount of equipment precisely when Poland began to lose the war, and after the transfer of this assistance, Poland abruptly began to win
