    I’ve just bought a factory tuono. Same year. I was told that sport was the laziest throttle, I haven’t had much time on the bike to properly notice yet, but I know that race mode is not for me (very little EB). I like track for the streets (medium EB).
    I got a fright going into a few corners on this machine as I’m used to the engine braking of a speed triple 1050. I felt very at one with that bike. I think I’ll be using sport in the twisties, as I like a bit of EB in the corners. Dunno if that makes me a less accomplished rider, but I like it, it’s like a comfort blanket lol. Thank you for enlightening me on the modes and their characteristics.
    👍🏼

      thanks for the comments :) Maps with little engine brake are ok on the track but can be a problem on the road as you describe. But there are some that just have too much. It's can be a fine balance but it's definitely better to have a bit more engine brake then too little on the road. Ride safe and hope you fall in love with your Tuono same as you were with the 1050!

    can you make the throttle as smooth as the older speed triple? Especially on throttle closing?

    • @RaceCenterAU
      @RaceCenterAU  Рік тому +1

      you can def make them heaps smoother, and with a tune they would be as smooth as an old Speed Triple or at least very close too.

    Hello. How are you guys accessing the ECU? My understanding is that it is locked down and only PADS can get in. Thanks!

      Hi Eric, there are a lot of programs that allow you to access ECUs. We have a number of different ones but have used tuneECU on this one.

    what exhaust was fitted, was it a full one, did you put in a sprint filter? I think the suspension set up should be done at the same time you do the tune. but which would you do first, suspension or tune if you could only do one to start? great video I shared it with the UK Aprilia FB groups.

      Thanks for the comment Steve and thanks heaps for sharing the video, youre a star! 😊
      That particular bike had an SC project slip-on. The one it had on it was actually horrendously loud so I wasn’t the biggest fan of it to be honest, SC make other ones that have proper mufflers so we prefer that style. In terms of performance though they are the same though.
      With the Tuono, same as the RSV4s there is no real performance advantage form a full system over a slip-on. So we normally recommend slip-ons as the money saving can go to the tune and suspension.
      We normally recommend DNA filters, we have found them to be the best, not just in terms of performance but practically how well the seal the air box.
      And 100% agree with you, I actually think the suspension setup is a must and would do it together if not first!
      Thanks again mate!

      @@RaceCenterAU great advice I think you should say that in your videos, maybe do a before and after tune, exhaust sound check, like moore mafia in his tune video's. It's a SC CR-T I have only listen to it on YT and BOOM! wouldn't like to be in the box with it :)

    Im thinking about trading my BKing(90k miles) for one of these. I commute every day and am pretty tall. Any thoughts peeps?

    • @RaceCenterAU
      @RaceCenterAU  Рік тому +1

      They are great bikes but some things you will need to consider is front end is pretty soft and you may need it re sprung being tall. But they are roomy. Other thing, which is going to sound silly, is they are pretty dam fast, from low down too. So as a commuter they are a bike that would be easy to lose your license. We normally tune in an "urban" mode which is softer for commuting and also gear them shorter so you can enjoy the motor without doing 200km/h

      @@RaceCenterAU Cheers for the reply. Fast is good its one of the things I love about my BKing is the amount of grunt and as there doesnt seem to be many 1.3-1.4ltr bikes out there(unless I buy some fat whale), so the V4 I know gives a good combo of pull vs revs. Good idea with the respringing, thats probably quite a good cost effective mod that I'v never thought of before.
      Cheers🙂

    Do you not know your stuff on the Aprilia? R is rain mode S is sport mode and T is track mode, full power in all gears. There is a RACE mode, but that gets unlocked with an Akra 'Aprilia' can fitted. The RF has the RACE already unlocked by the factory. I do know what I'm taking about cos I have the RSV4 Factory. Trust me I know!

      Hi Gio, sorry for the late reply. While what you say is correct for some older models. It is not correct for this model. The 2018 Tuono has the full word on the dash, not just R, S, T. It actually has the words TRACK, SPORT & RACE. If you still don't believe us, then you can check out page 36 of the owner's manual. And here is a link for you: www.manualslib.com/manual/1608213/Piaggio-Aprilia-Tuono-V4-1100-Rr.html?page=36#manual So yes, very confident that we know our stuff :)

      I mean rain/sport/track would make more sense than sport/track/race... especially when you read the manual and it recommends to use sport for "when riding on street with dry roads"....so..Umm what do I do when its raining?? (Btw answer is NOT accidentally put it in Track mode😬)
