    You tip on positioning the page higher than the mat grid worked like a charm, solving my Auto Registering Problems. Thanks so much for this great tip because I was very frustrated with my Silhouette Cameo 4.

    Thank you for the tips. I had problem with cutting. It was cutting off few mm and now, when i moved the designs more away from the registration marks (off the grid)... it started cutting right as it should. Thank you again ♥

    Nice. This is, effectively, the Cliff Notes version of the storehouse you've opened for us over the past few months. Thanks for all of this! The only improvement is that, instead of speeding up the video as the machine does its work, you should've slowed things to 10%. "Finally, here's a free lesson in patience."

    Your channel is my go-to when I am stuck on something and can't figure it out. You speak so clearly and explain things thoroughly without leaving any details out or rambling. Your camera and angles are perfect and everything is so easy to understand. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos for your viewers. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

      One question I have- how do you make the machine cut all the way through instead of doing a kiss cut? I just recently switched over to silhouette from a Cricut maker so this is all still new to me and I haven't been able to figure it out! I apologize if it was covered in the video. Currently chasing my 2 toddlers around and get distracted occasionally because of them! (I am doing stickers with glossy sticker paper)

    • @kdotbecca
      @kdotbecca  5 років тому

      Great question! I don't think I've done an in-depth, step-by-step of sticker cutting (and the settings that I use) in a video yet. What I do is set the sticker sheet border up with a different line color than the sticker borders, and I cut them by line color. If you haven't seen my video about making print & cut sticker sheets from a font, I show how I set this up starting at about the 12 minute mark. This link should take you to the correct spot in the video: ua-cam.com/video/_IXSsi3VVCw/v-deo.htmlm21s
      When I actually cut the file, I'll typically kiss cut the stickers at a blade depth of 1-3 (depending on how thick the sticker paper is) and a single cut, and I'll cut the sticker sheet border the whole way through at a blade depth of 5-6 with a double cut. If you have a Silhouette Cameo and two blades, you can set the stickers to cut with the red (left) tool (autoblade or ratchet blade) and the sticker sheet to cut with the blue (right) tool (ratchet blade). If you have a machine that only has a single tool holder, you can cut the stickers first, switch the blade settings, then cut the sticker page border last.
      Hope this helps! I really should make a video about this. :)

    great tutorial. works for me fine with matte printable inkjet foil. but i got a major issue, when i cover the foil for protection purposes (e. g. scratches) with shiny laminate foil: the cut is not correctly on the cot lines and on every picture somekind disortet by random.

    I am a newbie but you have answered a lot of my questions thank you very much !! I do have another question I have made sure all is correct in page set up and cut and it all shows 81/2 by 11 but the machine still cuts to the right of the design i am cutting and cuts part of the image on my mat . do you have any ideas for me to fixt this?

      Hélène Alonso I agree that it can sometimes be tricky to get everything working properly. I've been lucky so far in that I haven't had too many issues with print and cut, but I have had the same thing happen with my Autoblade as you're experiencing. For me, it's only happening once in a while, but it's obviously not great when the autoblade isn't being set to the proper blade depth, even though it's doing the tapping thing and should be adjusting.
      Silhouette America has a troubleshooting page for the issue, and one of the things that they mention is that the Autoblade can sometimes raise slightly in the housing when you go to lock it into the holder. I've been trying to pay more attention to that and have been doing as they suggested and keeping one finger on top of the blade when I lock it in so it doesn't raise at all, and since I've been doing that I haven't had the blade adjustment problem, so you may want to give this a try if you haven't already.

      That's lovely, thank you so much for your answer! I'll definitely try that :) I also tried your advice of shutting down the top of the machine during registration these last few days, and it worked every time! I can't believe the time I lost trying to shine a light on the paper (and still not getting it everytime). I had seen the light advice on another video, but I must admit that the shutting of the cover is so much easier.

      @@helenealonso6767 I'm so glad that closing the lid on the machine during registration worked for you, too, and I hope that the trick that Silhouette mentioned about the autoblade works out for you, as well!

    First time in 5 years with my Silhouette I've heard someone say close the lid.. I was like no way - that is not going to work. Sure enough, it did! ha! Thanks. Definitely had too many shadows going on with my overhead lighting. I would have never thought to try that.

    What i dont understand is how do I create the outlines for artwork within Silhouette studio, like I already have an outline setup for my art and know how to add a stroke along the outline... but why dont your outlines show up when you print the artwork? How can I create these invisible outlines?

    What printer can I use that would be able to print on the glossy sticker paper you use at the end?

    • @kdotbecca
      @kdotbecca  5 років тому

      Carmen Dubon - I used a color laser printer to print the stickers in the video, but you can also use an inkjet printer to print on the Silhouette brand sticker paper. I've gotten good results with both.

  • @AmiDins93

    are you able to use transparent printable vinyl
    with you laser printer?

    • @kdotbecca
      @kdotbecca  5 років тому

      Ami D - Most printable vinyls that I've seen are made for inkjet printing, so I wouldn't take the chance and use them with a laser printer because they could damage or even ruin the printer. I think that there are laser printable vinyls on the market, but they may not be rated to the temperature that your laser printer gets to. If you plan on using a printable vinyl for laser printers, just make sure that it's rated to a temperature that's higher than the temperature that your laser printer can get up to.

    Hi I have a question that cannot be solved maybe you can help me 😭 So I need to cut these blue circles with no offset border, just round blue circles. But it always cuts on some of them off, so on the sticker I can see a bit of the white background paper. I tried calibration but it was pretty much on the crosses and also the distance was exactly at 20cm.
    I noticed that this inaccurancy is mostly in the upper half and on each of them less or more severe some of them turn out perfectly.
    I cut in good lighting, chose the right paper size and place it perfectly on the mat. Of course there are ways to get these circles but I am just frustrated knowing my machine is cutting off ;( I use epson printer on highest quality also have the latest version of silhouette studio…. Thanks😞❤️

    I am really having a big struggle with these registration marks.
    First of all my cutting area is bigger than the print area (no one else is having that) and even adjusting the registration marks wasn't helping because it couldn't reach the corners of the cutting area. Therefore the scanner thing couldn't reach the marks.
    Another thing I've noticed is that I don't even have this option to choose a type of registration marks (not sure if with a newer version they took it out of the software).
    I just started and because of this issue I can't really work with my portrait 2. I couldn't seem to find any help online so I hope anyone here can help me out..

      Quagganova - What version of Silhouette Studio are you working with? You may be able to resolve the issues that you're having by updating to a newer version if you're using a much older version.
