Game Grumps are:
Arin ► / egoraptor
Danny ► / ninjasexparty
#gaming #HorseArea #Geoguessr
I am impressed that Arin saw palm trees and instead of screaming “FLORIDA!” he instead said “we’re somewhere tropical.” Truly making progress!
@Don't Read My Profile Photo don't pass Go! don't collect $200.
To be fair that's because Dan immediately pointed it out
@@justin99000 No, Dan did remark that before Arin would have called Florida immediately, judging by his momentary confusion he had forgotten he used to do that. As Twitchy said, Arin doesn't think the same way as he used to.
He assumes Palmdale now. They grow up so fast!
as a fellow ex floridian and ADHD haver, i can understand why he blurts it out.
florida forests even have palm trees mixed in them sometimes.
Just something about Arin exclaiming "Is this a child??" so genuinely, accompanied with the quick zoom-in to make sure of it absolutely sent me
Was looking for a comment like this. It killed me 😂
23:44 for reference XD
It's so good
Allie: "I think it's a slavic country" ... proceeds to only name Scandinavian countries lol
Oooh missed that I was busy cringing at Arin seeing Cyrillic and saying well that’s only 3 places
@@scottmcketsy3048 as we learned when he got Italy correct, sometimes generalizations help, lmao
Like a stake through my heart
Went here to comment that lol
Dan coming in clutch with the one-liner follow ups
"Boats should stick where there's water"
"That's a free-range child"
Don't forget "What's more American than Nissan?"
Me a german fan screaming at the screen like my life depends on it: "no arin, that wasn't the german flag! Arin! Arin please! Why can't he hear me! Tamault!"
Tamald!
Tammuld!
Ikr.... the second the map loaded, too, I was like "GERMANY!" pretty sure that was an Aral Tankstelle that got me all !!!!
I love seeing all the different ways people spelled tammald
Tamold!
arin’s city planning fetish is coming in CLUTCH
That "you like bankrupting cities" when Dan liked the water running through town was so bad lol
@@CrazeeAdam you can tell his at the peak of a hyperfixation and dan is OVER IT
have they played sim city or city skylines yet?
i want to watch him play city: skylines and educate us on what he's learned about IRL city planning.
@@CrazeeAdam No lie, I wish I had a friend I could tell to STFU in that tone and they'd take it as well as Arin did. XD
19:03
Arin: So you like bankrupting cities?
Dan: Will you shut the f**k up…
Dan: God damn it
The genuine “why can’t you just enjoy the nice community, and not make it about city planning” was concentrated in that line 🤣 and they are close enough to just laugh it off and move on… they’re like brothers ☺️
It's funny enough already that Arin didn't guess Germany because he saw the Belgian flag, but even better that he's the one who guessed Belgium in the first place
"They already guessed Germany"
Arin. That's the Belgium flag. Ya know, the country you just guessed
omg im glad someone else noticed that
I will admit... I was screaming that.
100% thought it was the German flag up there, ngl
@@KennAndCasper to be fair, same colors but in a different arrangement
@@KennAndCasper That's a problem with many of the European Countries, very similar flags
7:11, If you see cyrillic writing, it is almost guaranteed to be one of the following:
- Russia: if everybody is guessing immediately and getting it right on the first guess, then it's probably Russia
- Ukraine: if it looks like Russia but it ain't, it's probably Ukraine
- Bulgaria: it will either look very rural and rundown (almost like a post-apocalyptic hell-scape, sorry Bulgarians...), or a really nice, sunny, warm looking city.
- Serbia: looks a bit like Bulgaria and the other surrounding countries (obviously), will often have signs with both cyrllic and latin alphabets
- North Macedonia: If it isn't Bulgaria or Serbia, it's probably North Macedonia
- Kyrgyzstan/Mongolia: try these if none of the above
Countries it will NEVER be:
- Belarus
but what about....Florida
I have also seen Cyrillic in Montenegro before, but that’s not their main language
Also if your in the middle of nowhere it’s mongolia
Never Belarus, unless you're a Russian immigrant living in Belarus and Geoguessr happens to drop right on your porch where your sign is or some cruelty like that XD
i was ysing this logic too and deduced Bulgaria.... the way i screamed at my phone "NO!!! TRY BULGARIA, PLEASE ARIN!! WHY CANT HE HEAR ME?!" and then seeing it was bulgaria absolutely sent me, LOL
Ah yes Humansdorp, where there are DEFINITELY NO ZOGNOIDS.
This is easily the most chill GG series and I'm very glad it's back.
same, was super delighted to see the notification
I personally wish that they would officially name this series Grumpguessr.
I could watch them play Geoguessr every day and never get bored.
Chill? Arin leaving it down to the wire with these guesses was so stressful!
@@DarkYuan sameeee like, hurry, you have 3 guesses, you can see what other people said ahdhakakal
"IS THAT A CHILD?" really got me.
The tables finally turned at 19:03 -
Dan: I've had it with your hippie BS, Arin.
and he didnt even pause to think of it. was ready to go.
"South Africa is where the Humans dorp?!"
I died.
I dorped
@@Adplusamequalsadam Nooo you can't dorp if you're not in south africa 😭
(Unless you are)
Geoguessr: "Oops! All New Zealands!" Edition
Absolutely here for it. Can't believe Arin didn't guess the Christchurch one after getting the first 2
@@matthammond3563 I wouldn't have guessed the Christchurch one but the West Auckland one was trippy as hell.
@@Roflcrabs You should have, the bins literally all say Christchurch City Council on them lol
I hope that guy finds out his Rodeo Girl shirt got appreciated by thousands
I am absolutely living for Arin’s urban planning era
Allie saying “Poland” out of nowhere scared the fuck out of me
And then proceeding to say a Slavic country, then naming Scandinavian countries
TOTALLY!
Good that she is gone, she used Grumps just as a springboard for herself.
Its so jarring when she just jumped in liked that. I am watching the Geo Guesser playlist for the first time right now and for almost 3 hours it was just Dan and Arin saying Hello and Bye every 30 minutes. SUDDENLY she is there.
Thats not even personal against Allie, but imagine you are in a room with 2 other people and after 3 hours another person jumps out from behind the couch and casually just joins the conversation.
Either say "Hi" as a decent human who wants to join or stay hidden behind the couch!
So excited to see them playing Geoguessr again. Feels like I'm playing along with them, makes this especially fun to watch.
"this game has a Battle Royale?"
Me: Y-Yeah, you guys played this mode before >_>
"Dorp" means small village or town, so that is clearly a very normal human town.
Mayor's name: Hugh Mann
Hello human, boy do we have the town for you
"Dorp" sounds like something Pinky would say
This has the same effect as observation duty, in that it is really fun to play along. Love that they are doing this again!
the timing of "is that a child?" and the turn then zoom had me laughing so hard! love you game grumps, I needed to cry laugh today
That third New Zealand one in Canterbury on Colombo street was literally around the corner from my house. Finally I am on gamegrumps
Petition for Arin to upload a podcasty episode talking all about city planning because I’m super interested and knowing he’s passionate about it I know it would be very fun to watch
I recommend a channel called "Not just bikes" if you want to never be able to look at US city planning again.
This would be so good if he invited actual city planners and interviewed them
That Denmark one was kinda unfair - it definitely wasn't showing what most would think of as Denmark. Nothing in that footage even resembled Danish landscapes or buildings.
BUT technically it IS part of our country as I'm sure it was the Faroe Islands (or possibly Greenland) :)
I thought Alaska at first myself. Or one of the Northern territories in Canada.
It was Greenland
OOOH that was why! idk I was so confused cause we don't have ANY mountains
like the thing we call "sky mountain" (Himmelbjerget) is legit just a hill
@@munkholm123 true, and even our highest point (Ejer Baunehøj) is really just a hill.
I was immediately thinking either Svalbard or the Faroe Islands, but I had completely forgotten the latter belong to Denmark :0
Every time they say a country's name I think of that map game they played 😆
"There's a million places that aren't Andora!!!" 😂😂
Damn the NZ representation in this one was insane! So glad I could recognise it every time it came up. There's something about the sun that just feels like home whenever I see it
It always looks so familiar when they were in New Zealand. When it was twice in a row, I thought they hadn't moved to the next guess lol
That's is cool. Place seems nice.
It’s called the gaping hole in the ozone layer haha. For real though I think that does actually make it brighter here.
Arin: I wanted to do something fast paced and stressful!
Also Arin: Plays it very chill and keeps running out of time and gets 'knocked out' for being so slow.
Wasn't ready for the ally jump scare at 11:32 lmao
*allie
Yeah, the moment you realize that its not to friends hanging out on a couch playing a game, but they actually do sessions of hour long recordings while other people sit silently in the same room and suddenly speak up is so weird.
Its super jarring when all those lets players and streamers are basically just a buddy simulator where you and your little parasocial relationship are lead to believe that you hang out with a specific person, they greet you, talk to you AND SUDDENLY someone else pops up right next to you just acting like they were there all the time.
I love these one offs where they just play a game and are relaxed.
well, technically it stopped being a one off but yeah, I love those episodes too
Technically two-off, judging by Dan's comment at the end there's gonna be a second episode.
@@resileaf9501 actually they have played this game like a few months ago.
@@matthewelliott7294 I'm aware, I've watched every episode. I'm talking specifically in this series-ish type of episode.
Just like Boyz II Men, Arin got highly emotional when he came to the end of the road and ultimately ran out of time before he could salvage his relationship by correctly selecting the country of the photograph he was looking at.
"Palm Trees. You know what means. It's Jabberwock Island."
8:17 "There's a place that doesn't really count called 'Baja California' "
Me: "I'm sorry... My *Mexican Citizenship* begs to differ" (Currently in La Paz, Baja California Sur)
Acaso somos los únicos de la Baja sur aquí? jaja
The concern in Arin's voice when he suddenly asked "Is that a child?" killed me.
Arin's strategy of just not clicking any answer is certainly bold.
Kids walking around unattended. Dilapidated houses. A horse walking around.
I'm gonna guess Detroit.
Im dying lmfao
Some tips for playing, just things I notice they miss and/or things that could help (note, this is just what I have observed from playing, may not all be 100% accurate):
If you can always check what side of the road cars are driving on. Noticed a bunch where the car was on the left and they guessed right-sided driving countries. There's only so many countries that are left-sided driving and can really narrow down your guesses.
This doesn't always work, but look at the sun if it's not directly above you. Most of the time, if the sun is in the north, you are in the southern hemisphere, and if the sun is in the south, you are in the northern hemisphere. The closer you are to the equator, the less this works, but it can be helpful at times if there is nothing else to look at.
License plates are super helpful. Generally fat plates are North and South America, with Colombia having fat yellow plates. Europe is the long skinny plates, with Portugal having yellow on one side and blue on the other. Blue on both sides means either France, Italy, or Albania. Switzerland plates will be plain white because they are not in the EU and therefore will not have the blue EU symbol on their plates. Bhutan has fat red plates. Tunisia has long plates with red on one side. Norway often can have green plates (not every car, but if you see a car with a green plate, it's probably Norway).
Sometimes if you look down in game you will notice the car has a roof rack (bars sticking out from each side). Only some countries have this, those being Guatamala, Dominican Republic, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan. In Ghana only, the front right roof rack bar will have black tape on it (not sure why, but it's only in Ghana). In Mongolia, there will often be a large extended part of the vehicle visible in the back of the vehicle.
As far as this game mode, there are only a small amount of African countries included, those being Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Madagascar.
If you believe you are in an Asian country but not sure which, check any telephone poles. If there is yellow and black stripes around the bottom, you are most likely in Taiwan.
Hope this helps anyone trying to get better at the game! Took a while to figure a lot of this stuff out.
Car: is driving on the left
Arin: so we're driving on the right side
Almost as funny as when Dan saw the van driving behind the Google car and thought it was driving backwards.
Car: Is driving on the left
Arin: CANADA!
nothing like fruitlessly yelling 'IT'S THE BELGIAN FLAG' at my screen hoping that against all odds Arin will just click on Germany
Hearing them try to say “Sverige” was hilarious 😂
The boys go on a virtual road trip! What could possibly go wrong!?
"God *Damn* It, Arin! We're virtually lost! I *told* you we should've stopped at the virtual gas station to ask the virtual cashier for virtual directions!"
"I don't need any *goddamn* virtual *directions,* I can find my way on my *own!"*
Lol, the "Poland .... Denmark, Norway ..." in the middle was a hilarious leap. Polish has nothing to do with Danish.
After all this time Arin still doesn't know to check if the sun is in the north or south to determine what hemisphere he's in
i really hope you're joking.
@@charleswisconsin9196 why would that sound like a joke? If you're playing normal Geoguessr (not a custom map) you can trust what the compass says. If the sun is clearly in the north, that means you're in the southern hemisphere. If it's in the south, you're in the northern hemisphere.
He could have gotten those New Zealand guesses a lot quicker.
That's how I figured it out. He never aimed the camera at the sun but I could see what way the shadows were pointing compared to the compass and I knew we were in the southern hemisphere. The fact that it looked kinda like America told me it was Australia or NZ. The fact that Australia was already guessed told me it was NZ.
@@crimsonvampyre602 I didn’t realize there was that much strategy involved but honestly that’s genius
@@gracejordan110 There are so many strategies. If you can't tell exactly where the sun is coming from (if the sky is too overcast for instance) you can look at satellite dishes on roofs.
All satellite dishes are pointed toward the equator. So if they're pointed south that means you're in the northern hemisphere and vice versa. And the more parallel to the ground the dishes are, the further away from the equator you are. And the more the dishes point to the sky, the closer to the equator you are.
If you're in Alaska, for instance, the satellite dishes will be like perfectly parallel to the ground
I probably wouldn't be able to tell which direction the sun is at on photos.
For the love of god please pay attention to what side of the road the cars are on 😂 so many times in these videos Arin is like “THE U.S.!!” And the cars are on the wrong side of the road 😂
This. And where the sun is!
The rise in popularity for Geoguesser is honestly great to see
Its actually down. It absolutely exploded near start of pandemic, but is still surprisingly high. I think about 50-70k people play enough to be active.
I never expect Allie to randomly pop in like that.
I can’t stand her
the fact that arin instantly knew it was italian bc of the repeated use of two letters is killing me 😭
Geoguesser is one of my favorite series!
unbelievable! they can tell the difference between Spanish and Portuguese now!
The more Arin mentions city planning, the more I want him to play Cities: Skylines or an older SimCity because it would be fascinating to hear him talk about it
not fascinating enough for me to go google a video on it myself, but still XD
Dan: "What the heck is AT?", Dan in the last episode: "AT? That's Austria".
Also they played the Battle Royale mode in the episode before this one.
Cars driving down the left side of a two way street
Arin: picks the United States
5 seconds remain on the clock
Arin: "...I don't think it's America."
oh this bodes well~
Arin: Look, buildings! Civilization!
*turns around and goes back up the dirt road with nothing on it*
if you're referring to their last attempt, the path ended at the intersection. they weren't able to continue in that direction.
sign: "Montottone"
Dan and Arin: "MONTONTOOONAY"
but no, go ahead and say *we're* the ones speaking weird, lol. I love you guys.
Dan would sound amazing singing the song "the patient" by tool I would love to hear that
Oh wow, I’m from that city in Mexico with the Sam’s Club/Suburbia, I’d recognize the three peaks of Chipinque anywhere! Viva Monterrey!
I've always wanted to go to Humansdorp. The place where dorps can be dorps.
(All the South African lovelies were probly laughing their ass off at how the Grumps pronounced it)
Absolutely dying.
18:13 that was my middleschool and elementary school HAHA Palm Coast Florida that's Belle Terre Pkwy that's wild
When is Arin going to play cities skylines and show off all of his city planning knowledge?
Can you imagine playing this game and being dropped off in front of your own house? I think I’d have a panic attack
As an Italian i LOVE that he said that and i DOUBLY love that he was right
I had no idea that watching Metal Gear Awesome would lead me to watching Egoraptor, and the lead singer of NSP, doing let's plays...
And here I am! ❤🔥
Oh boy! Wait till you find starbomb
I personally suck at this game so I’m happy when the boys are as equally sucky as me
Do you at least remember to guess before time is up?
@@Dr.Spatula yes and no
I’m just terrible at these types of games in general
Hello. My name is Keenan Allen Roy Watkins, and I fuckin' rule. Currently dealing with being a severe alcoholic and having polycythemia vera. Just wanted to say that watching game grumps helps me get through my day to day life. I'm fairly certain I'd be better than Arin, but definitely not Dan. I could beat the dogshit out of Harley from that other dumb channel though. He will destroy Arin in the ring. I hope you are picking up on my sarcasm. Except the part about Arin getting his ass handed to him, cause that's 1000% happening. Unless I sub for him. How long does this comment need to be for it to be considered rambling? One time I punched a guy in the face and it broke his leg.
19:01 I always love those "shut the f up" from danny
WEEEEY ESO EN EL 7:38 ES LA AVENIDA GONZALITOS!!!? EN MONTERREY? NO MAMEEEEN
This video's URL ends with "Egg0"
i'm glad i recognized spain despite how desolate that area was
!!!! You guys visited Monterrey (while in México!) my hometown! You can know that because of the m shape mountain in the background!
Yay, Hungary! I'm a huge fan of yours for many years from Hungary!
Freaked out when I saw my own city 🤩 I can always tell when it's NZ but never expect Christchurch to make an appearance. Our region/state is called Canterbury, which is named after the UK city, Canterbury 😂
"It's a Slavic country... Denmark, or Norway?" Americans never fail to amaze me
Bro she's doing her best 😭
Wasn't expecting to watch this and see my own city as one of the answers (the New Zealand they mistook for England)
This has nothing to do with this video, Arin you did amazing in the boxing match I'm proud of you, you just starting out and fighting a big ass guy like Harley and still went in there and i know the fight was like two weeks ago but I'm now finding out about it, i was so confused and scared lol so I'm commenting on this video since it was most recent but Arin, big cat you gave it your all and dammit that's a win in my book ps i know that you don't read comments but i hope you see it and i know it's not a big deal but that took balls and guts and kidneys and liver and nose hairs you did it man "GRUMP ON ARIN HANDSON" get it because hands and boxing and...stuff...with things..I'm so tired.
17:28 when you are casually watching GG and you see that they are viewing a place THAT YOU PASS DAILY!!! My little sister went to that school! XD Palm Coast FL for the win!
22:38 Okay, no. If that's truly Denmark, I want to know where. With a mountainous view? It looks extremely Icelandic or like Færøerne, but not at all like Denmark. It's like a documentary from Greenland more than Denmark.
12:00 "A slavic state, country*... denmark or norway" omfg
Ah yes a free range child
The way they American "KZN". We pronounce it K Zed N. It's short for Kwa-Zulu Natal. And South Africa is mainly rural
I am getting real tired of Allie jump scaring me with her voice. coming from nowhere without being asked :)
19:41 Great name fore a song lol Seriously!
8:18 so we don´t count as México now, huh🧍🏻♂️. And Baja California is a state lol, loved the video.
Arin looking at an arrow on the opposite side of the road after already reading road signs: Which way does the road go... this way.
*goes the wrong way*
He wasn't saying that he was going to follow the road. He was wondering aloud which way the road went.
I never knew suburbias were exclusive to america, canada, australia and new zealand. I guess all those suburbs I lived in accross europe was actually Canada all along.
My favorite thing is Danny guessing Germany correctly and Arin doing everything in his power to not select Germany.
Because he mistook a flag in the wrong guesses section as Germany's.
@@resileaf9501 true
Suburbia is just a clothing store here in Mexico 😂
Just so you know Argentinian websites end with “.ar”! Visually pretty similar to “.at” so can’t blame you specially if the image is blurry :P
Also, Dan you are very welcomed to come to Argentina :) ❤️🇦🇷 we would definitely introduce you to Argentinian rock and Argentinian Patagonia
"We know it's in africa, we know that much"
*clicks on Portugal.*
Triste...
18:52 the very SECOND they started I figured it was Australia. I recognised the bins. Heck, I even recognise the real estate company Harcourts.
Correction: It was New Zealand. They have the same bins and real estate company there? O_o
Just looked up harcourts and apparently they were founded in nz, headquarters in Australia. But they operate in a bunch of other countries too that I didn't know about! Not sure about the bins 😅
7:47 Holy s***, that's my city! I recognized it right away hahahaha
I defend prefer game grumps Vs of this game to just Arin playing
I love being from nz and knowing instantly and then watching them guess
So glad Sayaka's brother showed up!
"It's Cyrillic, that means it's one of three places" Uhmm.. Not quite :D
The one that was Denmark was actually Greenland. Not really Denmark, but a part of the kingdom of Denmark but it is autonomous. Surprised it was put as Denmark, a bit confusing I think. So fun to watch geoguesser!
Ah thank you for the validation, I was guessing tundra = Canada the whole time (as a Canadian) and was very confused be the right answer, completely forgetting Greenland exists lol
dans pronunciation of sverige made me giggle. it comes from svea and rike (meaning realm or kingdom) and is indeed swedish for sweden. it’s pronounced more like sverje with a soft g hehe
Felt real afrikaans when i looked at both the south africa ones and went "yup that's home alright"
