    Man I’ve been struggling with this stuff man no one ever taught this to me so when I stepped on the Field I looked slow so I’ve been looking for video on this for a minute and finally found someone. 🙏🏾

    I like what you're doing, breaking it all down in simplistic terms. Nice job.

    So if the inside wr runs a conner and the outside wr runs a out what do I cover?

      In cover 2, If you’re the safety you’ll defend the deepest route, which would be the corner route in this case. As the outside corner you would defend the out route since it would be in your zone, and you would depend on the safety to cover the corner route

    Do you think a crossing route concept where both slot receivers end up crossing each other could open up for the “Z” or “X” receivers to get open and confuse the safeties? I’m trying to picture this in my head but I need help understanding this for future reference.

    • @imdakarai
      @imdakarai 3 роки тому +2

      Would that be considered some sort of “mesh” concept?

    • @LearnFootballWithvIQtory
      @LearnFootballWithvIQtory  3 роки тому +2

      @@imdakarai Correct, that would be mesh. Then you're able to post or dig the x and Z to try to open up some space in the middle of the field.

    If the X receiver ran a post and drew the corner and the slot ran a slant, since he is playing outside leverage and the RB ran a wheel route outside would he be wide open?

      If the corner follows the sunk too far inside yeah - lots of coaches use the RB in this scenario

      The main thing to do is to call a slant, and split the seams of the Safeties.

    Great video - how does cover 2 look like if a third Safety is added - like in a 335?

      One of the safeties would typically buzz down to cover the middle or hook/curl area. If you're only rushing 3, he'll need to be fit in properly to scheme.

    “The theory of cover 2 is, jam the outside receivers, get 2 safeties deep in the middle, and let them throw it inside.”
