The palomar knot is the best knot I believe I've ever used. Been fishing for about 35 years now and when using the palomar knot I've never had a break at the knot. I've had hooks bent straight but the knot still held. Great video showing people they can fish is cheap gear and still feed themselves if needed.

Joseph Jones i never said a tourney in a pond, i compared them actually. Yet tourney bass are usually bigger but i know some personal ponds that hold biggins and burthas. Again i never fucking said to do a tourney in a pond. Im defending all anglers because some ppl say it aint that hard. I mean yeah it takes luck but theres a apart where they need skill, techniques on how to move a bait. Only experience can overpower luck dumb fuck.

In order to cast your bait farther, you should add a swivel between the lead and the main line. Use a permanent marker to write the ultimate depth of your Crank bait on its bill so that you'll always have that information. The reel sounded like an antique one.

Awesome. Spoons can be awesome for trout when all else fails. They are versatile as you found, and great at bounce off rocks in a river, jigging, alternating speeds and steady real. The best way to get them for trout fishing is a kit of 30 spoons that you assemble the hooks on with all different finishes and paint jobs. That might make a fun video.

I straight retrieve my in-line spinners (Mepps dressed Aglia), and have caught my PB (8-10lb) largemouth on one. They are the lures I use the most, and have caught most of my Bass on them. Sometimes I’ll let them sink, before I retrieve. When all else fails, use an in-line spinner.
Boiii I’m up here in Alaska and am pretty new to fishing. Always been around it just never really new. I’ve been using how you all fish for bass down there to fish up here in the interior of alaska….and boiii does it work. 😂 been killing it

For spoons you want to reel constantly and not jig it, reel it at a speed where it wont touch the surface but at the same time not sink while reeling, keep it 2-5 inches below the surface of the water, have fun and keep fishing.

I did order the same green reel off wish. I used it for sea fishing for snapper. I dominated alot of good fish. Matching it to an older Shimano catana rod and 20lb line other than the sideplate falling off, I loved it. Now I just ordered that 4 piece rod and a different reel. I'm going to try and catch 15lb plus snapper on kubura lures on anchor.

Lojo. You and whoever ought to come down to the Everglades. There's spots only a kayak or small jonboat can get into and the fish is massive. There's a nice camping area right near the spot too. People come for star gazing. But we go for the bite. It's common to do 30 to 40 fish bro. Good stuff. Great content too. Wife and chitlins would like the campground. I know we do. You ever get a chance it's kinda on the miccosukee reservation

If anyone is curious to know how to work that spoon, just do a nice steady retrieval and the spoon will do the work for you! Its made for simple yet great fishing
Just a heads up when you put together a two piece or a 4 piece rod you should spin the rods as you push them together this helps make grooves in the graphite and it shouldn’t come apart as easy like when casting.

I love my sougilyang 4 piece. Its gold instead of blue and I have a abu garcia silver max on it. Caught a 5.4 lbs on it about a week ago with a black/blue football jig and bandito buggy trailer on it. So these light travel rods work really well actually

If you end up trying to fish spoons more often, straight retrieve is the way to go 👍 and they're perfect for bass, Northern pike and walleye
I just did a friendly handline fishing trip with some family members. Had a ball.
Caught a few bluegills for dinner.

I use 50 pound braid and 10 pound fluorocarbon
65 lb maxcuattro to 15lb flouro
And it's all real thin
I mostly go off line diameter instead of their rating

Jesus I run 30# braid and only on my topwater rods I know everyone has their preferences but around my neck of the woods if someone is running 65# braid its cause they are trolling for chinook salmon or trying to catch white sturgeon

I think a lot of us have used "WISH" before, and [imo] some items were "sketch" and others not so much!..🙄 That rod, although it being a "4-piecer", really didn't look all that bad, but I can't really say how much longevity I'd give that reel, despite its "clean-look", coming out of the box!..📦 And just a little FYI 🤔💭, at the age of 10, I caught my very first Bass 🐟 off of a "Silver Spoon" lure!..😉 One of my great and fondest memories!..🤗

LOJO so u were asking about SPOONS! They are pretty easy to use in my opinion best way to use it for me is straight retrive and stop for 1-3sec depends how deep place im fishing is.
With the spoon it’s just a retrieval with very small wrist movement to add to the spoons movement. The hook will kind of act like a tail. Love the content man you got a new subscriber right here!

You're really good at explaining gear. For someone that wants to get into fishing, could you do a video explaining good starting gear?
Go with a 6ft rod, button reel, 8 pound test line to start with. Research the fish in your area and choose the best bait for your fish
Don't get a button reel like the other guy said to. You'll regret it. They are very easy to cast but they aren't very good reels and you'll get made fun of. Start with a spinning combo, then move to a baitcaster.
@@lornzn I hate when people start kids on button reels. The reels are so crappy, the kid spends more time getting it untangled than fishing. Much better to get them a nice light spinning setup, which is already their size and makes catching those little crappies a blast.
