Bling it up Baby!!! You don't have to go Ring 7's though. There are plenty of ARGB fan sets of 3 or 5 that you can get for the price of one ring fan that are absolutely killer. I'm sure you Know this. The average person that is buying a PC based on aesthetics Doesn't know the difference between Corsair, or Cooler master fans, and Pccooler or Montech fans which are awesome for the price. I am using Lian Li Uni Fans the best fans on the market IMO but they are being scalped worse than 3000 series GPU's. I got 9 of them early for close to MSRP but people are selling them for $150 USD or more with an MSRP of $80 for 3 with a controller. One E-tailer sent me 3 individual Black Uni fans when I had ordered and paid for 3 sets of WHITE Uni Fans, total 9 with controllers about $300 US. After a few emails with a rep they blew me off, No phone service or anything. PayPal sorted me out with a refund and I ended up with 3 free Black Unifans, Which I used in an inconspicuous area as the Push fans on my Galahad 360 AIO. Thank God for PayPal!!! As a system builder of new and used builds, I completely have noticed everything you mentioned locally to my area as well. It's funny you brought up the 10th Gen i3 predicament where people will go out and buy or be way more interested in an older i7 (6/7gen and less) over the i3 anyday, not realizing its actual performance is the same or better. This leads to greater and/or quicker sales with one spec compared to the next, sometimes overpowering the concrete strategy of price to performance (unless you can sway uneducated buyers to understand just because its an i3 doesnt mean its a deal breaker). With the used prices rising because the demand is high and supply still low, graphics cards especially over every other component are becoming the hardest part to obtain for builds lately for me. They still pop up, but the current $100-250 range of used GPU deals have become very thin and far inbetween. The prices are so inflated that I am starting to consider brand new GPUs, whereas previously a large portion of a builder's profit would often come from a good GPU deal, compared to other components. Just a few thoughts I had after watching the video. By the way I have been watching for a while now and enjoy your work and content!

as a hint for hunting used graphics cards, take an eye out for low profile ones. they often come from business desktops and use OEM variants of consumer cards. Dell used a lot of GDDR5 based low profile cards, that are now being sold as deals everywhere. This year i got bargain priced R5 430 and Radeon 7470. besides low profile GDDR5 cards make some sick SFF builds

Picked up a bunch of parts on the Gold Coast too, including an X58 board with bent pins (which I managed to fix), a GTS 450 with no IO bracket, 8GB RAM, an i7 930, a case in pretty rough condition, and some other parts like some PSUs (one decent 80+ bronze) and a 1TB HDD. Paid $80 Australian so it was a pretty decent haul.

DO THE BLING BLING BABY (aesthetics)! BTW, I spent hours researching gaming PC's for my kids for Christmas. I have 5. That's very expensive (even going "budget"). I'm a determined sort of person, so I insisted there must be a way to do this (maybe build my own?) and not break the bank. Of course, UA-cam videos was part of that research. I found your flip up challenge and I fell in love! (Don't worry, I'm married . . . kids . . . remember?) You inspired me. I'm no expert and have a lot to learn, but I've tinkered enough with PCs that I'm confident to get into a little flip up challenge of our own. Within 1-2 days of binge watching your flip up challenge series . . . several times . . . and also deciding I'm going to do this, I found a lot of 32 office PCs, monitors, keyboard (pretty much all have RAM, 2 don't have HDD - the rest do). Got the whole lot for $1,250 USD -- 32 (mostly) HP Elite 8200 SFF including 1 core i3 (don't know the spec on that yet) 6 core 2 duo (also don't know the spec yet--I'm also sure about 4-5 of these are a different HP model--we're still taking inventory) and 25 core i5-2400. Monitors range from wide screens to the "square" type (I'd say 60/40 wide to square). Maybe a pretty good deal? From what I see you just picked up in this video . . . looks like HP Z210s with i5 (maybe same processor as I got - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02794662 ) . . . I'd say my price per rig (complete with RAM, HDD, Monitor, keyboard, and mouse) for an average cost of about $39-$43/ea . . . hoping they all work . . . isn't too far off from what I think I've seen you pick up for similar specs in recent days, weeks, and months (yes? no?). I'll tell ya . . . the thing that you inspired me the most with was the entrepreneurial aspect of what you do. I want my kids to learn that, and something I'm not a stranger to! So, officially as of Monday, December 28th 2020 - my kids, my wife, and I have started our own little "flip-up challenge" business. They want the gaming PCs, they gonna earn it (and I'm gonna learn and teach it--and be the bank . . . very reasonable loan terms . . . LOL)! OH . . . and you are 100% spot on with those budget "gaming PCs." ALL my kids want to do is play Roblox. I have to imagine there are a ton of dads out there--like me--that would be happy to spend $150 to $250 USD for a full rig to satisfy their kids, too. Hey - I see you have a DISCORD channel . . . can I get in? I love what you do with these videos--VERY WELL put together. Thanks . . . looking forward to following you as you journey through those bargain hunts!

ill be honest to tell the truth, do what you love is all i can say. in fact its not a bad idea to even do both. new price performance and used price performance even if its rgb bling. but to what i see used price performance is the heart and soul to tech yes city 110% keep up the good work brain.

My absolute favorite PCs to build are always the super-low end ones because there's this kind of their that comes in seeing what the absolute lowest specs are I can put together that still do what I want it to decently. As someone who played and benchmarked the crap out of GTA V, I find the best price-to-performance systems for that used like an i3-2120 and a GT 1030 with 8gb of ram...or maybe an RX 460 because I think at the time there were some OEM cards that were half the price of 1030's. So I sold lots of systems low end like that.
With that in mind, I definitely prefer seeing content like that on the channel. It's infinitely more interesting to me than RGB bling systems or even new systems at good prices.

Aesthetics are important in any consumer product Brian. It's cool to have a product that performs well and is affordable, but people are willing to pay more for something that is compact and looks neat. There's a certain compromise you can make. I would challenge you to find products that find a balance in all of these elements.

The reason bling is in right now and things like old i7s being sold at high prices I think is due to new people entering the PC space due to the pandemic, it won't last, i'd say stick to what you believe in

So in America where you can get a nice glass side case with 4 ARGB fans pre installed and fan controller header with room for expansion for 49.99, the aesthetic part of the build is easy. Like you said though, the used GPU market is crazy high, higher than new stuff when they are on sale.

i say keep getting those used deals but also build new and see if you can beat it then sell both? id love to see that but if i had to choose i love the used pc parts you come up with its fascinating seeing this hardware go to good homes to be used instead of fill a dumpster.

Brain give the people what the want. As long as you put in good parts and tell them upfront the real capabilities of the PC it is all good. They got what they wanted and paid for.
