    Our stylish neighbor recommended white dove years ago and we’ve been hooked ever since! One bonus I’ve found is that quite a few whites that manufacturers use match perfectly to white dove (Ikea, Andersen windows and more). GE paintable silicone caulk is also a perfect color match.

      Depending on how creamy the marble is, yes, White Dove could work. But you always want to look at your finishes with the possible paint colour before committing. Paint a large board like one of mine in the video and look at it with the marble.

    Thank you for your wonderful info!
    We recently listed our house for sale, so we updated with paint. I used Dove White on the walls in a bedroom. I painted the bedroom doors in Behr's "Espresso". It turned out beautifully. The floors are medium light hardwood. The furniture is a dark wood. Other than my kitchen, this room was a favorite. This room was the only room i did not use white LED lighting. White Dove looks great with incandescent lighting. I did not care for the look with white LED lighting. Lighting changes everything! My house sold in 5 days with a bidding war, above asking price. The miracle of paint....

    Decorator’s white cabinets in a white dove matte painted open kitchen/living room…which color do I do on all of my trim? Sheen?

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  2 роки тому

      Hi Brenda. Use the same white that you have used on your cabinets, the Decorator's white. If it works with your fixed elements, don't think that you nee to introduce a new white. It will likely look a bit different anyway because it's being used on a different application and you'll be using a different sheen, but at least you know it works with your other design finishes.

      Hi Rosanna. You can use either one of the white paint colours I share in the video that works with White Dove for trim and ceilings, or you could just use White Dove. It would likely be a different finish that you would use on your walls, so it will look a little different anyway. But since it's the same colour, you'll know it will look good.

    Thanks so much for this quick and informative video. I'm planning to paint my new kitchen White Dove. The island will be Benjamin Moore 2140-30 Dark Olive with a gorgeous quartzite counter in swirls of greens, creams, gold, and dark grey. The design actually reminds us of mountains. The perimeter counter will be a lighter tone. My question is, what colour does one paint the main part of the open concept house? I sincerely appreciate your advice.

      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  2 роки тому +1

      An option might be to paint your walls White Dove too Steph. If you know it works with your counters and other fixed elements, and you want a light colour, that could be an option. If you prefer another neutral, check colours like Pale Oak, Balboa Mist or Edgecomb Gray. The possibilities are endless, just make sure that whatever you choose works with your other design elements.

    Hi, we have all new White Dove kitchen cabinets. There isn't much wall in the kitchen and we've been living with it painted in white primer for a few months. We like the look. Is it too much to paint the kitchen walls white dove, same as the cabinets? Or do you recommend a different white or light grey? Our countertops are Ashen Grey Corian, a gray subway tile backsplash, medium brown wood floors and original warm brown wood trim in our 1932 Colonial.

Otherwise, you could try looking at the other white paint colours that I mention in the video that work with White Dove by Benjamin Moore.

    Great video! We are doing a partial reno in our kitchen and have decided to leave the floors which are terracotta. I'm planning a solid surface quartz counter top in white. I'm wondering if you think white dove would be a good choice for the cabinets as I know the counter tops are a brighter white? Currently, my walls are cloud white but I don't mind repainting as well. • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  4 роки тому

      Hi Karen. You really need to look at all your fixed elements and the paint colours together to which is going to work best. Terracotta is an earthy tone, so White Dove which is more creamy than other bright whites may indeed be a good option. But if your counters are bright white, it is likely going to be more of a difficult task to find something that will work with both.

      Hi Charmi! Often the knots can come through on painted wood, so be sure to speak with the paint store if you are doing this yourself or with the painter if you are outsourcing this. Before you choose the colour for your cabinetry, check your counter and backsplash with a large sample to make sure the tones work with the creamier white. Good luck!

    Hi there, I need your help!
    I have a northern facing room and I made the big mistake of painting it Graytint, the room became practically blue! Now we have to repaint. I’ve decided I want white. I’ve tried Chantilly Lace and Distant gray, they are both too creamy for me, and the White PM-2 from BM was the best one so far, but I feel like it’s very dull and grayish. Then there’s super white and that just is too stark and I know I’m going to be seeing blue and I don’t want to be seeing any blue. I’m going to the store tomorrow, and I’m thinking of getting PM-2 lightened, maybe try Oxford white, and I know they sell farrow and ball so I might get all white. But I need desperate help in finding a fresh white with no cool blue and very very very minimal cream undertones. Sorry for the lengthy text. Thanks.

    Great video! I love White Dove! However, the wall adjacent to it doesnt agree so much. My small apt is so sensitive to yellow due to size and flooring (bright yellow undertones..bamboo) that White Dove is too mustard when applied. I had an Aura color that was a customized white dove in satin (Eggshell, Regal is what I used for White Dove). Loved that color on the wall, however, the sheen was not consistent with the feel of the room. Went to match it at another paint shop hoping it would be the same. It was not. Now I have a gallon of much whiter paint that doesnt blend well with white dove. Im guessing the LRV is too much for this space. For cost effective reasons (and to save my sanity) I was considering adding WD to the much whiter paint. I have a good amount for coverage but I know this is always a risk. What would your suggestion be? Have you ever done this?

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  5 років тому

      Hi there. Sorry to hear that White Dove hasn't worked well in your space. I never mess with the original colour of any colour. I know some people will say you can make it a percentage lighter or darker, but I believe that there are enough colours out there, that we shouldn't need to alter them to find the right one. Have you considered hiring a colour consultant to help you?
      I definitely do not suggest mixing paints, I've never done it and you really don't know what your going to get. So in the long run, you may be wasting more money. I'd save that paint you have for another project and then get a white that is going to work. I've never colour matched myself, it is always a risk if you do that. Let us know what you decide and good luck!

Another option is to invest in my new Essential Paint Color Guides, there is one for White Dove. You can see what's included here --> clairejefford.com/product/white-dove/ Cheers for watching!

    Hi Claire. I'm painting my walls BM Muslin and having a hard time choosing a ceiling color. Will White Dove be too grey in my rooms with little natural light? How will White Dove be on the ceiling w/ Muslin walls in a west facing kitchen?

    my home has bone white on all the doors and trim and windows. Trying to pick out new colors for the walls throughout and the bone white doesn't seem to look great with most colors I like (rather dirty). Have oak floors throughout except bedrooms are carpet. Does the trim/doors/window have to be same color throughout home and if so what is the best to match most colors without being that stark white?

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  4 роки тому

      Hi Karen. I do recommend the same white on your trim and doors throughout the home. If all the wall colours that you chose are done correctly, then they should flow nicely with your white trim. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Bone White. Be sure you test all possible paint colours by painting a large board and moving it around the rooms at different time of the day. Thanks for watching!

    I'm currently in the middle of a renovation. I have ordered custom cabinets that will be painted in BM Oxford white. We are thinking of painting the walls in BM white dove. Will the two colors go together? Anybody else have these color combinations? If this works should we also paint the trim in oxford white?

    Hi there. I am trying to find a white exterior trim to use with Ben Moore platinum gray. I have noticed that some people use a stark white trim and it really puts me off. Do you think white dove would be a good pick to show contrast but not blow me out of the water with starkness? Thanks

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  3 роки тому

      Paint a large board in a couple of different whites that you are considering for the exterior and then look at them outside, at various times of the day and on days when it's cloudy and days when it's sunny. See which you like best with the Platinum Gray. Remember, when you use any colour outside, it will always appear brighter on the exterior than on the interior.

    We are having a tough time picking out a color for our entire 1st floor. Our trim is White Dove and the color in our north facing kitchen is Indian River....which is way too dark.....especially because we have Medium color cherry cabinets. The rest of the 1st floor is Barely Beige. We want to brighten up the whole 1st floor and was thinking of painting all the walls Ballet White with White Dove trim. Sound good? or should we paint everything White Dove with a different sheen on the wall vs trim?

    what do you think about SW natural tan as a shutters color for white dove as the main exterior brick paint color?

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  27 днів тому +1

      While I don't have fan decks on me right now, from looking online, both of these colours would appear to work nicely together. Always be sure to check your paint colours on large samples, and in your instance, because you are talking about exterior application, look at the colours outside. For obvious reasons, paint colours look a lot brighter when applied on the exterior.

    So if I paint kitchen cabinets this white dove, should the trim above cabinets and the trim in remainder of kitchen be white dove? Currently trim and ceilings throughout our house is traditional/classic/ just plain white. Enjoyed your video…thx.

      Hi Jim! If you are repainting your trim, then yes you can repeat White Dove. However, if your current trim works with White Dove then you could leave it as is.

    I love your videos and advice! Thanks so much for your time. I am in a bit of a panic. I thought White Dove was exactly what I was looking for in our new build for cabinets, trim and ceiling. I loved the sample cit on the wall. My painter just got the ceilings done and the primer and first coat of paint on the walls (bedrooms, BM Morning Dew; open concept kitchen/living room with BM Collingwood. The ceilings look like a creamy yellow! Now I don't know what to do. I am re-evaluating using it anywhere else and may repaint ceilings. It looks the same in EVERY room no matter what the lighting. We have 9ft ceilings in most if the house and a vaulted ceiling in open area. Any thoughts?

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  4 роки тому

      Hey Becky. If you really don't like how the ceilings look and you have time to redo them, then that's what I would recommend. You'll need to change your trim to the same paint colour you use on the ceilings too.
      Bring together all samples - hardwood, countertops, stone, tile and large paint samples. Check different whites to see which works best with the palette.you already have.
      Benjamin Moore's Simply White, Oxford White and Chantilly Lace are all brighter and slightly cooler whites, not yellow at all.

    • @ClaireJeffordConsulting
      @ClaireJeffordConsulting  4 роки тому

      Hi Karen. I would land on your counter top first and then you can pick from any colour that will work with that, instead of the other way around. I know some design professionals choose the paint colour first, but I personally find this to be backwards because there are so many paint colours to choose from (if you are doing a custom paint colour) that it's limiting to choose the paint colour first.

      It is definitely more creamy than the other 2 Benjamin Moore colours you mention. Maybe it was also too creamy for your fixed elements -counters and backsplash -which is why it felt more yellow.
