Love it that you guys did this review! Although a real test can only be done using it at an actual event. I've not heard the Maui. But have used the EVOX 12. The EVOX is a clear and articulate full range speaker. Many people incorrectly think the bottom of the EVOX is a Sub cabinet. It is NOT a Subwoofer. It is just a very high output 15" full range driver with enough low end to satisfy most people at a party. But if you're looking for real THUMP!, you need to add a dedicated subwoofer. Then you're gonna really feel it and you won't stop smiling at how good the system Sounds AND Feels. Peace Out fellas. Great video.

2nd comment. Bang per buck and versatility, I'll take the RCF. I'd say they would both do fairly large rooms with crowds up to 300 guests without any issue. Dancefloors don't usually have 300 people on them and that's the main concern. You can run wireless satellite speakers to cover other areas if need be. I don't think anyone would complain about the sound system either way. But for the money I think RCF is the winner.

Love this debate. OK lets get it... I recently purchased a set of Maui 44 g2's I used them for about 5 weddings. I was in love with them but hated loading and unloading from a car. I then a week later attended a wedding where the DJ had the Evox 12's. Short of the story is I sold my Maui 44's and picked up the Evox 12's. The main reason was on the dance floor there was more sound and punch from the speakers than there was with the Mauis. The RCF I could actually feel the bass and mid punch there as the Mauis the sound was more all over the room. Im super happy with my switch to RCF even though the technology is older.

I own a pair of the Maui 44 G2’s and boy do they rock. I’m in So. Cali. I’ve done many events since getting them in January. 300+ person event with plenty of headroom at a major event location in Los Angeles extremely clear and awesome. I own RCF EVOX 12 and added an RCF 18" active sub 708 which makes this system the best I've heard in a while. I drive them from a Denon controller through a DBX Driverack PA2 with incredible results.

@@djmojoeofficial I control the EVOX 12 speakers and sub with a DBX Driverack PA2. So I use the electronic crossover in the Driverack to feed the sub the frequency and level it needs. The Driverack handles that as well as auto EQ, feedback control, compression, limiting all in a one rack space. It also allows for any delay, phasing, parametric EQ, which I have not needed yet.

    • @noahman27
      @noahman27 3 місяці тому

Yes! That's how to do it!! (A lot of people do not realize that bottom of the EVOX 12 is NOT a subwoofer, but a very high power full range 15". For real subwoofer "feel", you gotta add the sub. But nevertheless, the EVOX 12 IMO is real real good as a very clear and articulate full range speaker).

Wedding DJ here and I’ve owned a pair of Evox 12’s for the last 8 months, here’s my take..
For context, In 2021 I bought 2 Bose Pro 16’s and I loved them, however I noticed a difference from the front of the dance floor and the back of the dance floor. The guests in front were absorbing the sound coming from the drivers and it sound completely different in the back, almost muffled.
With the Evox 12’s, I can raise the tops a couple feet to increase the throw significantly. In this video it looks like the RCF is on the first hole and it can be raised even higher. Unless you’re on a stage, you can’t physically increase the throw of the Maui’s.
If I’m in the middle of the dance floor and I have tables to the left and right of me, I am able to turn the tops towards the tables for better sound, you can’t do that with the Maui’s.
I hear people talking about the low ends or lack thereof on the Evox’s.. I use a Yamaha 10 channel mixer which takes less than a minute to setup and I adjust the EQ’s to the speakers.
In addition, the Evox 12 subs have a feature, like suitcase luggage, where I can extend a latch on the back of the sub and roll it around, I absolutely love this!!
My only con for the Evox 12’s is that they do not come in white. I’m sure the Maui’s are great, but The RCF Evox 12’s can easily perform for 300 guests.

To anyone watching this video, please consider this…… I own ev evolve 50’s and now the Maui 44 G2. One of my buddies owns the evox 12. If you are comparing the two here’s my .02…..
If you bought the evox and put it in a 150 event and then half way through swapped over to the Maui 44 G2, not a single guest would notice the difference.
The truth is, both of these column array systems are probably the 2 best on the market today (in 2022). Choose either one and you are now owning one of the best column array systems on the market.
Why did I buy the Maui over the evox 12?
For me it came down to having independent bass control for the subs. I do weddings and am mainly going laying top 40, rap etc and when ppl are dancing I like to go a little bass heavy; so choosing the system that had a sub volume knob was pretty important to me.
Is the Maui better? I wouldn’t say that’s the question. I believe the Maui is better, but the question you should be asking is, is it $1000 better then the evox.
I know people who post that they do 200 person events with a pair of evolve 50’s (which is crazy to me) and they believe in their head that it’s enough. I think these systems will suffice up to 175-200 guests in a medium sized room.
Anything over that and I feel you’ll really be pushing the system to hard.
I’m going to be putting out a video on the Maui 44 in the next couple weeks.

I don't know but I rather go for the Line Array JBL MK1 or MK2 because of its true portability.. I mean this Arrays are more likely still a Big PA System because of their bulkiness and how annoying to carry those Line Arrays separated from the sub. It's still like bringing a Tripod for your Top speakers except that they are already the top drivers.. If Portable then it means you only have to accommodate 100 to 150 Pax. If you wanted more powerful for a 200 up people then I rather bring Standard PA System than Arrays because It has the same factor of Setup. The only Big Arrays acceptance for me is the one they use in big concerts.

Test them gainst JBL Partybox 310/710 or 1000. I bet them all beat both of them. I use 310 JBLs for small out door partys and they are loud and have heavy bass.
