I asked myself for a long time what speakers should I buy for replacing my Bose L1 pro 16 to have more power. I checked a lot of videos, read tons of articles. At the end of the day, buying another pair of speakers that are easy to transport and (little bit) more powerful have a price. Expensive price. In canadien dollars, around 10K. At that point I said to myself, why not buy another pair of Bose L1 pro 16 ? Bingo. For 10K I have almost the double power of a pair of Maui 44 or RCF 12. And still fit in my SUV with all of my gear. And a 55 inches Screen, humpter B3, lightning .. etc. That was BY far the best investment I did to double the power for the same price, have 180 degrees coverage and always a lot of compliments from my client about the crystal clear sound. Nothing is perfect, but 4 L1 pro 16 are really close. Think about it if you have a 10K Budget.
Originally i was looking at a pair of EVOX 12. But now my plan is to get 2 of the new RCF Sub-15-ax and 2 of the new RCF NXL-14a. It’s still a column array system but much louder so I can do larger events in the 500-600 range with it. It also looks a lot better with similar setup time!
@ they just came out! they don’t have the convince of the handle and wheels that the evox has, but i’m buying a $29 milwaukee folding hand truck to make up for that! (black friday sale lol). i’m very excited to get this setup together, im doing all white, should be able to cover a lot more people than the evox12. 100x70 coverage from the Nxl14a. Nxl 14-a are each 2,100 watts peak (28lbs). Sub 15-ax are each 2,200 watts peak (81lbs). should be a lot louder than the 1,400 watt peak for the evox 12!
100% agree! Thats the setup I would go with. The NXL 14-A even has a real compression driver with 100° x 70° dispersion, and in a D’Appolito configuration (MTM). But it is a "point source speaker" and that is WAY to much work to setup for most column-array-guys. 2 x NXL 14-A + 2 subs also way more versatile: 2.2 setup, 2.1 setup in small places, or rent 2 extra subs if you really want to BUMP-BUMP-BUMP for bass heavy events.

I have 4 EV50's in white and I think I'll replace them with for 2 Evox 12's in white but I'm for sure keeping my 44G2's as the over all sound at high volume (IMO)is so much richer. I do about 170 weddings a year and I always bring a second guy. I also have a DJ van with a ramp if I'm solo and that's rarely. Great video

@brendanmichaelburchill5393 I purchased the Evox 12s first in Black and later the 44g2s in white. I take the 44g2s to all my weddings. And Evox for corporate and private events. If I were purchasing speakers today, I would go with the 44g2s in Black and call it a day.
Because you're asking: RCF for me. My friend has the 44's, we solved his speaker creeping problem with a couple of 2x3 utility mats from Lowes. Have to get the ones with rubber backing. I have the Evox 12's because I can't lift the 44' subs and the built in wheels make it so easy for a single person to maneuver. Great vid btw :)

For the price of Evox 12, I can buy NXL-14 with bigger driver and real compression driver. The remaining money you can buy 12 or 15-inch subwoofers and aux-send your music to sub and get more flexibility and control. An extra 15min of set-up over portability is nothing compared to output and clarity you're getting with NXL14 (FIR phase & bass motion)😊

I love them both but the LD has more low end (same 15 inch sub as EVOX) and the highs are way more clear. Just my opinion…, but I use the LD curv a bit more often! Also, the LD curv 500ts look (line array) is sexy and I get way more attention due to the look. Love your content!

Interesting, but not unsurprising results. I've always said that the RCF Evox 12 produce a more punchy bass than rumble bass. Which is something I really enjoy for most of my gigs. That being said, I've coupled my bins a few times now (something which is an option you don't have with the 44's) and put my tops out on Gravity stands. All you need are longer speakon cables. MAUI 44G2, ELEGANT, SOUND COVERS THE ROOM NO MATTER WHERE YOU AREA, ON WEDDING MOST OF THEM SERVEAL ROOM, IF YOU JUST WANT TO TALK THEY MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM, OUR PART AS DJS IS TO KEEP THE FLOOR PACKED , ALSO THE POWER OF THE MAUI IS CRAZY FOR THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE IN THE ROOM, LIKE YOU SAID THE RCF HAS A 90 DEG PROJECTION, AND MAUI 120, SO IF GRANDMA IS TO THE SIDE SHE WILL BE SAYING "WHAT DID THEY SAY" WITH THE RCF, NOT WITH THE MAUI, IN MY OLD DAYS i HAD TO PUT 2 SET OF SPEACKER TO COVER A LARGE ROOM DO TO THE 90 DEG PROJECTION, TAKE A PROTRACTOR AND PAPER DRAW A CENTER 90 DEG SPREAD AND A 120 AND DRAW CIRCLE TO REPRESENT THE TABES YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE, IN THE DANCE FLOOR AND THE CORNER OF THE ROOM. SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS LOL
My ears are in maui44 but the reality is rcf 12 evox is a lot friendly for my business at Wedding Dj's. Thanks great video, Amy don't kill him until he buy the ev 15 inches......😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice video but when you review a speaker do it outside where sound cannot bounce off the walls and high ceiling and create reverb. As an experienced dj you know when people fill a room you have to push the system so outside in a field or parking lot can be a great substitute for that. Even when you go to trade shows you will find that "real" demo rooms have Benn sound treated and some will have pipe and drape as sound absorbers to act as bodies.
I have both and I think LD kicks evox 12 out of the game. I have tried both in multiple situations and for me the difference is day and night. I don’t care about the extra weight of the LDs, they’re just better, way better.
How about comparing those 2 column arrays with the new RCF NXL 14-A + 18"sub AND a more budget version fx the LD Systems Stinger 28 G3 + 18" sub (Stinger or Icoa)......... or 15" subs. Come on Aaron its time to buy new speakers, I know you want to 🙂
You complain about the sub on the Maui weighing 80lbs. Really? A young guy like you? I'm 67 yrs. old with a bad back. My 2 subs are 80 lbs. each along with 2 JBL tops that weigh 48 lbs. each. I take them out & use them 3 times a week. Have to lift them into & out of my van each time. I don't complain.
Had em for awhile sent them back cause they showed up beat to shit!had 3 sets sent to me that weee new in box and all the subs we’re damaged.that’s when they were 2000 a piece.now they want 3000 a piece whyyyy.this is 10 year technology

SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS LOL
sorry i fell asleep around 12 minutes...which one won
To my headphones and your camera mic, MAUI sounded better, but you are right, if the difference is marginally small, then the less weight wins!
How about the Bose in comparison?
I'll do that
My ears are in maui44 but the reality is rcf 12 evox is a lot friendly for my business at Wedding Dj's. Thanks great video, Amy don't kill him until he buy the ev 15 inches......😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I guess I can hold out until then 😂
Nice video but when you review a speaker do it outside where sound cannot bounce off the walls and high ceiling and create reverb. As an experienced dj you know when people fill a room you have to push the system so outside in a field or parking lot can be a great substitute for that. Even when you go to trade shows you will find that "real" demo rooms have Benn sound treated and some will have pipe and drape as sound absorbers to act as bodies.
It was 10 degrees lol. My mindset is more- let's set it up in a room that we usually play in.
RCF Evox 12 vs Maui 44G2 vs Bose L1pro32.
Thi is the one i am waiting for!
Bose is best all around of the 3. From ease, look, throw, features. No speaker checks every box, the 32 checks the most 👍
I have both and I think LD kicks evox 12 out of the game. I have tried both in multiple situations and for me the difference is day and night. I don’t care about the extra weight of the LDs, they’re just better, way better.
Was that a ringing bowl sound effect???
Maybe..whatever the stock sound CapCut gave me lol
Great video!
Thanks!
44g’s all day. That evox I would never buy. I rather get 2 15 inch tops instead of
I love Amy! Spoken like a true dj wife! She knows her ish!!!! You gotta bust out the Bose bro! Waiting to see if EV drops the 15inch version of Evolve
I love her too :)
ESTE TEMA SERA UNA BATALLA EPICA 😂
I Liked & also Shared your Video!! Great Video!!
Appreciate that! 🙏
2:30 am in the Netherlands so watching it tomorrow...
Did this wake you up lol
Life was keeping me awake...
Ok I'll wait for evolve 75
I'm very interested in what they are cooking
How about comparing those 2 column arrays with the new RCF NXL 14-A + 18"sub AND a more budget version fx the LD Systems Stinger 28 G3 + 18" sub (Stinger or Icoa)......... or 15" subs. Come on Aaron its time to buy new speakers, I know you want to 🙂
I go for the rcf evox12 they sound pretty good
As long as grandma ain’t complaining and people can still party
Don't put here table near me 😫
@ exactly!
keep and use one of each lol. Now let me stop by with my DB's lol
Love that the Wife is down for the cause until you buy something NEW 😆
Bose vs Evox vs Maui
Let's do it..I'll make this
TLDR: Aaron refuses to do push-ups
lol
Maui!
Had em for awhile sent them back cause they showed up beat to shit!had 3 sets sent to me that weee new in box and all the subs we’re damaged.that’s when they were 2000 a piece.now they want 3000 a piece whyyyy.this is 10 year technology
My subs were beat up too. They need to fix this
It’s loud. Singular. Imagine 2
lets be honest these speaker setup will never be as good as a normal pair of 15inch tops, good for small parties but not good for a big party
Maybe not- but for mobile DJs that do over 50 events- they are great options
Common man put those head to head and see which one clips first lol
Maui did
Db es1203 for me has the best vocals and mid bass very punchy
Please do a comparison on it!!
3rd hole 😂
May Jesus Christ bless you ❤
9 seconds in and 😂lol
Sounds Great!! Definitely RCF!! Wow the Walnut Grove Hall got Huge @aaronstrawn
Have a Happy, Healthy & Safe Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
