Another great demo of super ideas! Your paper press is so simple, yet so effective. Achieving flat coffee-dyed paper is always a challenge for me, I will be making one for sure! Thanks again for sharing your talent.☺️🇨🇦
I love this series, and have been binge watching it this evening. I really enjoyed this episode, (#10). I didn't know that Tim Holtz had a ruler like that one, now I want to find one for myself. Thanks for sharing.
@@gayleagostinelli_ct You truly are the very best kind of people. I'd love to take you to coffee when visiting becomes safe and legal. We're practically neighbors :)
@@gayleagostinelli_ct Western Washington :) Olympia area. But I have a truck and I love driving to MT. There is a store in St. Ignatius with the most incredible deli... and my, oh my, I do adore Glacier and Missoula and Flathead Lake and Kalispell... I could go on. So driving your way would be a pleasure.
Your paper presses are fantastic! I have a set of doily dyed papers that I purchased that could certainly use a press like yours. No amount of ironing or book pressing has been able to flatten them very much. Thanks for the idea. Also, love today’s fold!
Came back to watch this video again. Love the simple pocket and all the tips you shared here .💗 I am trying to make the paper compressed board like yours. I think this will also be great for my flower press. Awesome! 👍 Thank you very much.💐
As usual so many great tips, Cori, but especially loved your tip for a "flower press" for paper... Home Depot is on the list for shopping this weekend now that the snow has melted over here on the Peninsula ;-)
Excellent! Home Depot has an area in their lumber section that has smaller cuts of plywood. I’d go with a 1/4” or so. Sometimes the really thin plywood can bend or give too much when it’s trying to compress a larger paper stack. I believe most stores will also cut the plywood for you, if you haven’t got a table or circular saw. I recommend the flat top screws (you can get them in little baggies with the wing nuts included) because when you lay the bottom of your press on the table the screws lay flush with the counter/table/work surface. It makes spinning the wing nuts to tighten them a very quick process. Have fun!
that particular folded pocket . i used to make them all the time in my bought note books to make pockets all the time , never knowing it was a thing LOL . I knit and sew crochet etc. and make notes all the time so I created the pockets for other papers with patterns or other notes I wrote .
Thank you, Cori, you share so many awesome ideas with us! Congratulations on achieving your 1000 subscriber milestone! Well done! I am not making journals for sale as well, however, I want to give back to my community and so decided to make journals to donate to community support groups eg. women in distress, parents/grandparents who have lost a child/grandchild and so on. There really are so many wonderful support groups around us. I have recently joined with a wonderful group of ‘local’ ladies (only at this stage ‘cos we have no men who we know of who follow this craft) organised by Sue from Paper Inspirations and they are now joining me in this project. I am so thrilled to have their company and their support. Just thought I’d share this idea with you as I want to create the journals and pass them along, not just put them on a shelf. 😀💞🇦🇺
Thanks for all the info! again, great pocket demo... always seems simple after I see them, but definitely don't seem to have that type of info in my head. lol so THANKS A MILLION for the ideas and the tips Teresa in AZ
Hi, re: hand stitching - this may be of use to someone - here in the UK we can buy stitch pricking wheel tools for making even lines of holes (saddlers also use them before stitching leather). Its a handle with a small spiked wheel that can be run along a line to make stitch holes. I got mine via ebay. The paper press is a great idea to stop journals being too thick. Thanks x
Darn you, Sue. Now I want to find one of those tools. It sounds perfect! We have tracing wheels (a sewing thing) but they mark rather than puncture. Then again, after marking I could go in and puncture at those spots. Something to think about, for sure.
Sounds ridiculous but I iron my paper after I’ve dyed and dried it. It works fairly well…..I also will weight it down under a few heavy books for a few days and that also helps flatten up it. I don’t have a wooden press like you do….but hey there’s more than one way to skin a cat!
LOL! I'm actually not supposed to be "decorating" as this is designed to be an idea book for the folded bases. I just can't seem to help myself! I've done a bit to those scrap-collaged tags and I'll make sure to show them for you in the next video :)

P. S. I also really like your paper press.
I love that ruler, so though I generally encourage people to use what they have, that one is worth the purchase. Happy creating!
Love your paper press! Lots of good ideas on this video!
Thank you. It definitely comes in handy.

It really is easy! Time consuming, but not difficult. Pre-poking the holes is a game changer.
Thanks so much! Great ideas, all of which I’m trying. Love your press! What a simple yet effective idea!
Thank you and yes, it is simple but it works well. Glad you’re enjoying the ideas.
