I really love how Andertons Music Co. takes time to go through every bit of detail in these sophisticated instruments. I've seen reviews from them on electric guitars and bass. They are spot on, with a touch of hilarious! I enjoyed this review also. Love you guys! ♥
Nice Review Jack, as always, the best demo guy. For me the best performance with the VP -330 is Swear by Casiopea, they use the choir sound on it but on other songs the Vocoder as well. It sounds heavenly. as good as it sounds, isn't it a bit pricey by todays' standards for a 3 octave keyboard with 3 sounds? just saying, this is a complementary instrument anyway and you will need another 'main' board below it... while Roland JUNOs and YAMAHA provides better bang for buck including these choir sounds and a Vocoder option. Just my opinion (I'm trying hard NOT to buy it, haha)
Interesting but...not a great demo...could you do a comparaison video with the MicroKorg ?? And focus more on "lead vocoder" like some Daft Punk or Herbie Hancock...not just some chords and beat boxing.
I have both a microkorg xl and this and this is by far the better vocoder. It's gorgeous sounding and really intelligible. This demo doesn't do it justice tbh. I'll be selling my microkorg now
Played it at Superbooth this year.......was hoping the strings would be much richer(even with ensemble engaged). Will need some extra fx pedals. Bummer.
Here's a tune with the VC340, vocoder starts at around 1:30 it's a new tune as of today. That being said, don't you wish Jack was your neighbor? upbeat, funny, wit charm to steal your lady friends? shame on you Jack! You know you have that power, you know it! Anyway, the VC340 is the only vocoder I could actually mix properly with my music. Thank God for it, for all of us with sucky singing voices this thing is a must, if you like the wobbly robot sound anyway. ua-cam.com/video/Ndpnopdq0uc/v-deo.html
Phoned the keyboard department at Anderton's on Wednesday to make an appointment for Thursday to compare the RD 2000; Kronos 2; Kurzweil Forte; and Montage. It was a 60 mile round trip only to have nobody there who could tell me a damn thing about any of the keyboards, just to be told that they could demo sounds but not any technical information. I made an arrangment to visit so that there would be someone who could explain the various questions I had, but was thoroughly disappoint with the whole experience and told to come back on Saturday when there would be someone there called, Pete, who knew about synths. Not very impressive and a waste of petrol.
You have to ask if there will be proper people there at the time you are going to go before you do. Thats for any place. Guitar Center would never have had anyone at anytime to tell you LOL, so atleast you domt have to deal with them.
It's like in all your videos you have this mocking demeanor that really baffles me then at the end come off all humble like you're in trouble with management to convince us to check it out because it's so great. I think there was one video that I could stand and actually appreciated your demo review. I did appreciate your beat box clip. Dude if your heart isn't into the gear don't upload your demos, it shows. If "dislike"was functional I would've forgone this rant. The only reason I drop in is because you happen to review gear I'm interested in. Someone mentioned how your videos include so much detail? On this video? It's like you skimped intentional.
What a lovely presentation! Fun to watch!
Your Videos are really enjoyable! You're doing a great job not just at reviewing, but also at entertaining!
Beatboxing with vocoder should be a thing

I used to have a svc350 which I sold some 25 years ago and this from memory sounds very much like it.. it also reminds me why I sold it 🤭
Me too! I had to sell mine to pay my rent. I've always regretted it. I now own one of these and it sounds exactly like it. I'm so happy with it!
Best video from Jack. More playing please. Jack is a fantastic player.
The strings+choirs destroy me every time on the VP-330oopsVC340 on their own when the ensemble kicks in. It's built like a tank, too
Jack mentioned Herbie Hancock "I Thought It was Youuuuuuuu"!

yeah this guy is great
I know Jack probably got a hard on playing this beautiful sounding VC-340. BTW, @5:04, on what exactly was that plastic bag stuck on ?? lol !
I guess you can run anything through it too huh?

That means it's pretty faithful to the original, isn't it?
Hello, i would love to slap my Pyramids Flanger on this

i don't think that's surprising as you are only giving one day's notice
Did you ask if anyone would be there to explain it all?
My instore experience is always disappointing
Should probably get the answers to your questions from the manufacturer websites and save the store visit for hearing them in person.
Really need a vocoder player to demo these, all reviews are pretty bad.
