A few years ago, I viewed this technique on UA-cam and thought, these pens would be fun to play with, thanks to the colors ink used to make black. Time to go to my wishlist to add a set.... your ATCs turned out nicely. Thanks for the tips for playing with these pens.
I’m going to experiment with some of my other inks and pens and see it anything else reacts in a similar way. I’ll let you know if I discover any alternatives. Sending healing hugs your way 💕💕💕🥰

Sorry it took so long to get back to you with my test results. I just had a play with my Calligraphy pens. I had a five pack of a black, blue, brown, red, and green. The brand is Sanford. They are about six years old, and used a lot. The black was the only one that separated and changed. The black lines turned brown and the water created only a yellow bleed. I have a brand new black Y&C Caligraphy marker from Japan. It bled a nice blue and purple, but did not yield the dramatic results you got with the Eligant Writer. I am not on Face Book,so I can’t take pictures and share. I hope this information is helpful. As always thank you so much for all you do.

Finally used my Elegant Writer pen. I didn't look carefully enough at the packaging because I got the chisel tip - not the smartest idea when I went to draw. Going to have to buy one of the fine tip markers. Thanks for telling me I can draw a picture in pencil first before going over it with the pen. Edit I also tried my pen on an artist trading card first.
Hi May, mine are the chisel tip ones too. Persevere with them as you don’t need perfect lines to get a good effect with these pens. I think I used the 2mm nib for mine, but experiment. If your lines aren’t even, it doesn’t matter as that will add to the effect once you add water. Enjoy 💕
Fabulous!!, Nina!!! I remember when I was checking to see which of my pens were permanent and which bled, back when I was doing a lot of pen and watercolor and discovered for myself that the black Elegant Writers were so marvelous! That was in the late 90's, before Facebook, and I remember marveling about it! I thought it was just because my pen was going dry. Turned out to be quite the deal! I love that you made this video!

Oooh,from what I remember from my school days....a long,long time ago,that the old bottled quink ink used to separate into greens,browns etc....mmmm,wonder if I still have some hidden away 😁X

Good morning nina, these were pretty drawings, the colours reminded me of autumn, the colours slowly fading away. I am making a very big page filled with tangles, adding one every day of october( inspired by dawn collins). And now I am on my way to the paper-art event and hope to come back with a crocodile...uhhh a cropadile. Have a good week nina, l

Just came home from the paper-art event and what do you think...no cropadile. I had a budget in mind and felll head over heals in love with a beautiful art journal, it was a big part of my budget ...decided to put the cropadile on my christmaslist this year and buy the book instead..... and some little bits and bops. I had a great day, really enjoyed myself. And the cropadile...patience.love lena
