I truly appreciate the time you took to make this video, it is great! I have a 2007 VStar XVS650, and the shift forks are messed up in it. I can shit first through third, but I cannot shift into 4th or 5th anymore. I have 22,000 miles on the bike. I must say, I am a big DIY'er, but I do NOT want to go through all of that just to change out the shift forks, and I don't want to pay a shop to do it either. Thanks to your video, I am now searching for a replacement engine instead.
I have the exact same problem mine has only 10k miles it's a shame I'll probably try to rebuild mine

Have a 05 v star 650. Making a very obnoxious rattle in the front cylinder. Mechanic thinks timing chain is stretched or the guide is broke. Is that a reasonable diagnosis? Can it be changed with out a complete tear down?

Those aren't water lines those are for the air injection system it's an air cooled engine also no water in the system
