Lamb to the Slaughter

- A video I edited and did some really light soundwork on for Vis 180B at UCSD. Based on a story by Roald Dahl.
I ended up narrating it myself because the original actor didn't cover the whole story.
Directed by Bob Lajes
Produced by Nicolette Cook
Director of Photography David Shin
Art Director Clara Park
Grip/Boom Operator/Cinematographer Larry Abdullah

English lesson brought me here crazy how many people had to watch this for the the same reason about 1-12 years ago and I’m sitting here reading there comments
What school
I wish that I would have gotten the camera credit that I deserved. Yes, that's right I did the cinematography for many parts of the movie not just gaffer and sound. I also aided in the special effects. But since this was one of our first projects together I'll let it ride. Just let it ride. PS Why did you guys not tell me it was on UA-cam?
Best Wishes,
Larry
12 years ago? Damn, you probably have a whole family by now, crazy
@@hailey4142 ye i commented jut now lmao
Lol
u deserve respect
Lol!!! This was soo long ago…. Now I look back and laugh. Keep watching and make more movies!!!
As in the original story, he never SAYS, "I'm leaving you for another woman", not in those words. I agree it's the most likely scenario, but he never SAYS those words. That must have been deliberate on Dahl's part.
agreed
Thought this was the ORIGINAL version. This wasn't worth the time it took to watch it!
He could have been leaving her for another man!
This could really help me on my test about this
"i think its right here under our noses" why yes mister officer, you are eating the murder weapon :) thats the perfect crime!! read this in english this week! i loved it cause of the dramatic and situational irony!....great video...it was very well made!
Well, your mouth is under your nose...
HOW DID SHE KILL HIM WITH JUST A LAMB?????????!!!!!!!!!!!
A real frozen leg of lamb can weigh a few pound and could give a hefty blow to the head. The prop they used in this film was far too small.
A Leg of Lamb is 10lbs. This Lamb Shank is 3lbs. They went through all the work of recreating the episode, and did an excellent job of it too, but missed the mark on the key element. Such a shame.
Hell busted that doom open.Thats what he get dirty bastard!!!!!
A frozen lamb
In the story, she killed him with a frozen leg of lamb.
English class, anyone?
Edit: oh wait, someone said this already pfftㅡ well atleast there's an edit :")
i keep finding armys😭. pls what school do you go to
@@teaganskz4944 i found my people
Wow this was uploaded before I was born....
The actress is perfect for the role of Mary Maloney. I really enjoyed the film and I am going to use it in my Literature classes. Thanks for posting it, congratulations, way to go!
Not bad. This is One of my favourite stories. The British tv show "Tales of the Unexpected" version is good. And I wish the Hitchcock Presents version was on YT.
The Hitchcock version was one of my favorite episodes. He goes on to explain that she remarried, then tried to kill him the same way. Unbeknownst to her, he defrosted the freezer, so the leg of lamb was totally unfrozen! She went down for the murder of her first husband, and also for the attempted murder of her present one.
Hitchcock didn't believe in the bad guys getting away with it.
Remembered this from high school grade 8. Good times.
Ok I did get credit in the movie description. I take it back. ;>
Peace,
Larry
YOU GO MS. SAIN!!!!!!!
Amazing award worthy performance!
Awesome! I love Roald Dahl and this was well played. I think he'd be proud!
I’m in 2023 in 7th grade and I’m learning about this guy, and I’m also thinking about watching the landlady
I was forced to right paragraphs for BOTH
@@Hello13931bruh
mary had a little lamb O_o
Debby van der Kleij
Now that nursery rhyme seems to be more scary after I realised that this story relates to that poetry.
What a wonderful and slightly macabre story!
who else is here from their English teacher
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for making it!
my english brought me here
Looked much more like Leg of Turkey. That leg is microscopic. The lamb must have been the absolute RUNT of the litter (not sure what word to use there).
I DO love how she unwraps it first. I've never seen that choice before. That's pretty funny! 8-D
I found the pace a bit too slow and there were too many silences, but otherwise I liked it. It shows that an effort was made, and benefited from that effort. The attention to detail as well as time-and-place were SUPERB.
Nice job!
Thank you so much for the kind words... If you would like a higher quality copy of the film to use for your class please just message me. Thanks!
theres a line missing, which is meant to be the closing, "Its probably right under our noses" then she giggles.
Yeah, I totally agree with the points about the shots in the living room. Thanks for checking it out!
I thought I was the only one who's english class brought me here lol
Nope. Me too, many moons ago.
Yup I’m here for English

SAMEEE
word.... this thing was a beast to try and edit because we forgot a lot of stuff in production. I would agree with all those things. Thanks for checking it out!
OMG, simply amazinggggggg :DDDDDDDDD

Alfred Hitchcock`s version was really good
That's one Hitchkok episode I remember as a kid. But what was the name of it?
Lamb to the Slaughter
Good job, and good narrating voice. Forgot the best line, "It could be right under our noses"!
My English Class brough me here and make me play rol as her in a Mary Maloney Trial 😂
i think a slightly larger bit of lamb would be better! brilliant none the less!
I loved this story, read it bout 2 years ago and happened to come across it right now
My English teacher had us doing research and studying serial killers for a whole semester. I wonder if I should have worried about that
AND jack was suppose to say: it might be right under our noses.
Mansanalle pulle😂😂

How was the presentation bro
English brought me here too, damm this is from years ago
we read this story in english lol
Wait does Jack figure it out??? I've read the story and it doesn't really mention it and I don't think they suspected it but in this short film is seems like he was on to something.
Legendary Lucario Jack doesn't figure it out and Mary gets away lolololololol. Reasons why I love Mary :3
Damn she must have been super strong to kill someone with that little piece of lamb wtf
209 en force !!!
Call me sadistic but I admire this story
grade 7 english, i was so curious
I guess nowadays, her dilemma wouldn't matter, even if she was found out. By the time the appeals were over, her kid would be safely born and probably halfway through middle school.
English class got me here
Oh this was in 2006 ..
Why do I care about the date, and how I was back then? Well, it's Oct 31 2021 Sunday.
Anyway, thanks a lot.
LAWLZ had to read this story instead just watch it!!
sameee! i did too
When I was reading this in school today, i imagened that the woman was like Bree Van De Kamp from Desperate Housewives for some reason... "The Perfect Wife"... I lOVE THIS STORY!!! X3
My English teacher in the 6th grade showed us this 😂
Gaaaahhh... The way it ends, it looks like Jack figured it out. :o
He wasn't eating and he kept glancing down at the lamb.
Not making me happy. =/
Pretty good.
Certain aspects weren't right.
Certain actors were a little off.
But still good none the less.
'Hullo sam'
pov: you are looking at the comments to see if you arent the only one watching this video for english class
my ERLA brought me here lmaoo 😹😹
Nice work everyone. Just one thought- you might have tightened it up a little, a couple of the scenes were a little slow. Don't want to lose the audiences interest. But you pulled it off and I enjoyed the ending- (& nice work Tim!)
Why r they so violent like I had an English story about a man who killed their grandpa or father and put his body parts under floorboards
Why are english stories so violent? 😂
I love this story!
But I have to do a stupid Newspaper report about the murder AND it has to be ironic (because the newspaper's murderers don't know who the real murder is) but I think I'm going to do great now.
Thanx for uploading.
Watched this in school haha
I've watched this in English today.
