Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I’ve been trying to figure out how to fold for the hem. It seems everyone else quickly rushes through this part. I appreciate you taking the time to show this process step by step for those of us who really aren’t good at seeing.
Thank you for breaking the folding part down so clearly for folks, like me, with directional challenges! Putting the presser foot on the material to show how the seam gets stitched was a great visual help, too.
After searching tons of viedos to show this, yours by FAR is the best. Your material is easy to see, you speak clearly and when I followed along, it really works. Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating this zoomed in and simple explanation. I have been trying to blind hem my sons suit pants and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Every tutorial needs to be filmed like your. Close ups are what us sewing newbies need and under 5 min. 2 thumbs up.
Brilliant! Brilliant. So very clear - I got it first time though by just sopping it and doing the task as you described it.Will continue to use your videos for any of my sewing queries.
Thank you very much for this information. I was making it harder than need be because of it being in the round. Once again I enjoy your videos immensely. Keep them coming.
I really enjoy your videos and when I watch them, I come up with more questions! Two questions: 1. I am hemming one of my daughter's professional dresses and there is too much stitch showing even though I have the fold running right next to the flange which I loosened and moved all the way to the left. How can I make the stitch practically invisible? 2. How do you end the hem on the jeans (or on my daughter's dress), just run the stitching off?
So sorry I missed your comment.... It takes practice to sew a blind hem that's really unnoticeable... The goal is to catch a single thread of the fold as you sew. If it's a special garment, I would hand sew the hem to make it invisible. To end the hem, overlap start point by a stitch or two, then tease threads to the inside and tie a loose knot. Thanks for watching.
So sorry for the delayed response. I overlap the start point a few stitches then tease the threads to the inside of the hem and tie a loose knot. If you start and stop near the inseam, the small overlap will not be noticeable. Thank you for sewing along with me
@@JSternDesigns No problem thank you for teaching me. Going to try that blind hem out tonight on my serger instead of the sewing machine as I have been doing.
