Angle grinder it is! Thank you.
Of course! :)
Just found your channel today and have now "binge watched" everything. Obviously you are way further with the build from the sneak peaks we have gotten in various videos. Very interested in seeing the rest of this build. What a lot of hard work. Thanks for taking us along.
Of course! I have so much content to share to get caught up with where we’re currently at but I’m working on it little by little! Thx for the support 🙂
Great video, thank you for providing all of the info so I can make an informed decision on how to make my cuts.
Thank you! Glad you found it useful
Thanks for sharing this!!!
Very helpful👍👍👍
My city told me my 40 foot shipping container had to go, so I used a 14 inch disc gas saw, the type fire emergency crews use to cut cars up
I cut 40 feet into (4 ) 10 x 8 x 8 sheds, I rented the saw for 77 bucks, used two 15 dollars disc's, the city was good with 10 foot sheds.
Gas saw kicked butt ! Wood flooring required buckets of water
I used chalk line to mark lines to cut, I cut roof first.
10 foot sheds, one is a small CNC router room, one is for my garden, one for lawn equipment, one is chicken coop.
Today I make roller branches to move 10 foot containers like Egyptians moved pyramid stones.
So exciting! Sounds like a cool project
How long did it take you? I've got 2 days to cut down 3x 20ft containers .
I loved this! Such a good comparison. Thank-you
Thank you. 🙂 Glad to hear that!!
Make sure you have enough air going into your plasma cutter I use 65psi also make sure your nozzle and electrode is in good shape so you can get thin clean cuts and get a stand-off tip so you don’t accidentally fuse you nozzle to the workpiece
Thx for the suggestions!
What a great video, just what I was looking for! Thanks
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Really helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Thx! Glad you found it helpful 🙂
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome imagination. Grade: A++💥
Thx so much!! ☺️
i prefer plasma cutting and for straight cuts i use a guide rail 😉👍
Thank you for your hard work
Of course! 😊
Shoooow Shoooow magnífico trabalho
Thanks!!
Nicely done 👌🏾
Thank you! 😊
Great video, answered some questions for me. 1 quick tip though, when using a reciprocating saw you need to hold the shoe right against the cutting surface so the saw does the work not your arms. ( Maybe you were holding it off just for the video so it was easier to see, but that will vibrate your arms off like that.)
Thank you!! Yes totally agree! Typically that's how I use it
I am from Chicago area, lol hello from Illinois!
Hello!!! :)
Thank you, great job
Thank you!! :)
The reciprocating saw makes the whole panel do the truffle shuffle.
Yeah it’s intense. It is not our preferred way of cutting steel but comes in handy. 😊
Wow thank you so much.
Of course!! :)
Je vote Angle Grinder, meilleurs travail ⚒ 👍
Merci!! :)
Just purchased a couple of Diablo metal saw blades, One 9in for a drop saw and the other 6 1/3 in for a power saw. Amazing cuts. Just looking for ideas to cut straight lines across the panels.
I've heard great things about those saws, but I have never used one (yet....). I'm starting to really love the plasma cutter to be honest!
Beyond the fact that the video is excellent, I love to see a woman doing the same jobs as a man, mostly because of the fact that most people complain about equality but when it comes down to it, they would never come close to a tool! Greetings from Paraguay
Thank you!! :)
Do recommend Diablo brand for anything cutting... They work amazing. I've had so many issues with harbor freight cutting discs. Bigger grinders have better work load in them. Longer allowed useable time before they get hot as well. Plasma cutters are amazing and using guides or frame guides makes life so much easier. A friend built a track holder to make quick straight lines. Love the videos keep up the good work
Thank you and thx so much for the recommendations! 🙂
Diablo metal cutting 14 inch blade out cuts everything.
Absolutely excellent video, I have construction experience but zero experience working with shipping containers. Quick question, which tool do you guys prefer?
Thank you!! Overall the angle grinder but we use all three on the ranch. It really just depends on what we’re doing.
Loving the hair.
Thank you!
awesome
Thank you!!
@@PacificPinesRanch. Very welcome ☺️
Greetings so what about using a metal circler Saw for straight cuts if you are cutting out a window??
You can also use the circular saw! We just prefer to use the grinder or plasma cutter.
Excellent video. Thanks for post it. Now I know that I need to buy a plasma cutter instead of oxyacetylene torch
Thank you!!! It’s really a great tool to have if you do metal fabrication 😊
Which one produces more noise when cutting, the angle grinder or reciprocating saw?
I'd say they are both comparable
I see Harbor Freight no longer lists that plasma cutter on its website. Did you play with the power settings?
I just purchased the HF Titanium inverter plasma cutter as it's dual voltage but have yet to take it out of the box. There's no point until I add more electrical outlets as there's only one, currently.
I use the plasma cutter on a 220v/40amp outlet and it works great. I’ve never tried to use it on 110v though. I have a titanium welder from harbor freight and it works great for the price, so I imagine the plasma cutter would be good. 🙂
Cool video! Thank you. How many angle grinder disks does it take to do the large cutouts and windows? Is there a particular kind of disk that cuts better? Also how often do you have to change the disposable tip on the plasma cutter?
Is it a true statement to say that with enough experience, proper/optimum tip size, welder settings, large air compressor, etc that the plasma cutter is the best/fastest tool to cut out windows, doors, and large openings on a shipping container? Or will you always need an angle grinder at some point.
Thank you! With a 4 1/2” grinder you would probably go through about 2-4 cutting discs depending on the size of the cutout. You use less with a 7” grinder. The tip on the plasma cutter depends on how much you use it. The more you use it the quicker the electrode will burn out and need replacing.
We use all 3 cutting tools on the ranch, but overall I would say the grinder is the one we use most often. We use the reciprocating saw for corners/hard to reach spots, and the plasma cutter for when I need to cut curves or shapes.
Also one more thing to note, if you’re cutting close to the floor of the container it’s better to use the angle grinder because the plasma cutter will burn the flooring. The plasma cutter might be a little bit faster than the grinder but the grinder is really handy to have around for not only the cutting disc but for the other attachments as well (wire wheel, sanding disc, etc).
@@PacificPinesRanch love it... you guys give clear and detailed answers to the questions... Thank you so much 🥰
@@barbhello808 Thank you!! 🙂
Cut in a triangle shape on the last cuts witth the grinder and saw and thren clean up the rest.
Good day, had you considered using a metal nibbler? I just heard about this….
I don't think it would work on the corrugation because it's too thick.. but those are pretty cool tools!
What about the Milwaukee metal cutting circular saw???
It works but I find it easier to use the angle grinder
What brand of angle grinders do you recommend for this application? Does the 4 inch or 7 inch grinder work better?
I’d highly recommend Hitachi, which is now Metabo. Both serve different purposes so I recommend both. The 4” is great but there’s times where the 7” comes in handy. 🙂
7 inch
What about using a oxy?
for the rounded hole--first use a hole saw, then the grinder or the saw
Thx for the tip! :)
What's the fastest?
The plasma cutter by far
you mad pretty
Thx 🙂
12:31 That's because you're not using it correctly. You must have the shoe pressed firmly against the object you intend to cut.
Ppr
Is she sky diving with that outfit
Don’t hate on my safety gear! Dior hasn’t released a construction line yet so I have to work with what I’ve got! 🤷♀️
Lol all I need is some glasses and we good
@@omarflores493 I have PTSD from the grinder! All it takes is one injury to be extra with the safety gear
@@PacificPinesRanch oh ya I hate it when it gets stuck or jumps hard
I like your face with hejab
Chicago electric? Eek.
I've had a great experience with it.
You’re super cute, but you need to invest in higher quality tools!
If we need to we will, but for now they are working out great for us. Gotta start somewhere.
Those cuts were awful dude cmon
Another "these ones"...never watch again
..that's enough for me.
What didn't you like about the video?
