It's been about 3-4 weeks that I've discovered this vid. Out of the 90k+ views, I must be responsible for at least 1k. I cannot stop listening to this goddamn show, in the morning, in the car going to work, at work, on the way home and at home. Primus deserves FAR more recognition than they've been getting over the last 25 years. Keep ripping that bass Les...we stand back in total awe... P.S. Jay Lane is a fucking boss.

+Shoogo Golden Boy is one of Primus' best creations... In fact, I have a new appreciation for The Brown Album than I did 19 years ago, and even then I appreciated and dug it hard.
Damn right Jay Lane's awesome. He's one of the better alternative drummers out there. The other drummers that've been with Primus over the years, Tim "Herb" Alexander and Brian "Brain" Mantia, were both extremely good, but Jay brings that little extra touch to Primus' sound that keeps them different from all the other alt-rock bands out there. His drumming on Green Naugahyde is second to none.
SAW PRIMUS!!! WHEN THEY OPEN UP FOR RUSH!!! DID NOT UNDERSTAND AT THE TIME!!! NEVER NEW ABOUT THEM!!! RUSH IS MY ALL TIME NUMBER ONE BAND!!! WENT HOME AFTER !!! DROP A FEW MORE AN ROAD MY BIKE!!! WOW!!! PRIMUS!!! ROCKS!!! BRIGATINE66
lol Primus is a band that I come back to every couple months and everytime I do, I see people saying Primus Sucks!! I go to start burning them down, but then I remember.......oh yeah, PRIMUS SUCKS! :-)
It is impossible for me to not watch or listen to the entire show every time i open this. And i watch it a lot! Was lucky to stream it live the first nite. Thanks!
Primus, Primus.... Man They Rock!!! Saw 3 Primus shows so far, all at the same venue, with all 3 different drummers in 3 differents decades. 1999,2002,2011.
Was at this show. Visiting my best friend Brian Haines who was living in Fort Collins at the time. We drove up to Red Rocks for the show. Missed The Dead Kenny G's and sat through Gogal Bordello who were decent. Primus on the other hand...were the TIGHTEST band I've ever witnessed live. And, I've seen a ton of live music! Absolutely amazing!!! The venue was also just incredible...It was spectacular being inside of all the Red Rock beauty...I'll never forget the show or the venue.
Les is a musical genus. Although many of his songs have simplistic lyrics, the musical talent portrayed in them is prodigious in its own right. NOBODY has a sound like Primus, and I really don't think there's anybody else out there that could pull it off as well as these guys.
Don't forget their studio EP, "Miscellaneous Debris," released way back when...which might have contained their first released Floyd cover ever? Kick ass version of Floyd's "Have A Cigar" on there, among cover songs from other artists, including Peter Gabriel's "Intruder."
2002 drummer of the year... Jay Lane, it's not for nothing that 10 years after he's still on the best drummer with Tim Herb Alexander. It was good to see Primus with that lineup in Brussels this year. Would like to see the 3D show.
The ? is "Over the Electric Grapevine." It's on the Tales from the Punchbowl record. Thanks for providing the rest of the times to find songs! Greatly appreciated.

These gentlemen are soon to be, if not already, an iconic symbol of modern American folk music. They are no less a voice to their generation than Woody Guthrie, or Bob Dylan were to theirs. May the universal supreme one always bless and show favor on Primus, F4or itD izz, way n f4evr! Love Out Loud lol lol lol
They have released multiple Floyd covers before, check out the les claypools flying frog brigade. "The band released two live recordings in 2001, Live Frogs Set 1 and Live Frogs Set 2. Set 1 is a mix of covers and originals, including "Thela Hun Ginjeet" (King Crimson) and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (Pink Floyd). Set 2 is a live cover of the entire Pink Floyd album, Animals. "
lol!! les is tripping so hard for this when they play here come the bastards they get a close up of his face and his puples take up almost his whole eye xD ahh what a saint.
Hey! Huge Frank Zappa fan here. With his expansive 60+ album discography, it's hard to know where to begin. I suggest starting off with Apostrophe('), Over-Nite Sensation, One Size Fits All, Hot Rats, Once you're in love, move on to The Grand Wazoo, Freak Out, Chunga's Revenge, and Joe's Garage. From there it's a free-for-all. Enjoy!!

dropped some blotter when I saw them with tool earlier this year...one of the best experiences I've ever had
TOOL at Red Rocks for back-to-back shows in June 2010 were phenomenal. Right up there with the 1998 Ænema tour & the Lateralus tour in 2001. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That's the only way to see primus
With Tool? OMG...might be overload?
Caught primus twice on tribute to kings tour, Tool in March Columbus Ohio. Seller last year for me concert wise!!
Primus as with TOOL, both fantastic and
Worth every dollar to see live. Red Rocks
Is #1 venue in the country.

Damn dude ..... I bet that was awesome
Woah my friend that's cool
Was awesome for the people able to get Tool tickets. I swear, scoring tickets to Tool is like catching a leprechaun sometimes.

+Brian Monahan Haha, yea. And this live version of that track is really great
Otterstrøm aww

Jayski is awesome on the drum kit here. He makes that hi hat wish that it had never been born. I also like the tuning on the drums themselves.
Over the Falls is Awesome 😮
Damn right Jay Lane's awesome. He's one of the better alternative drummers out there. That is Eugene Hütz from Gogol Bordello, the majority of his band is also on stage as well. They're also an amazing act as well, highly recommended.
Absolutely, he's the #1 reason why I picked up a bass almost 22 years ago. I had no idea a bass could be played like that. He's a master, 100%
It is impossible for me to not watch or listen to the entire show every time i open this. And i watch it a lot! Was lucky to stream it live the first nite. Thanks!
that was the backbone of the universe
Primus, Primus....
Man They Rock!!! Saw 3 Primus shows so far, all at the same venue, with all 3 different drummers in 3 differents decades. 1999,2002,2011.
Primus is the most beautiful misapplication of technology ever achieved

Gotta love Les's top hat!
Les is more.
Holy shit! This is 12 years ago. And I've never heard such an incredible bass solo / drum accompaniment like on Tommy the Cat ever!
Les is a musical genus. Although many of his songs have simplistic lyrics, the musical talent portrayed in them is prodigious in its own right. NOBODY has a sound like Primus, and I really don't think there's anybody else out there that could pull it off as well as these guys.
Don't forget Primus' Miscellaneous Debris EP. It's all covers and includes a Floyd cover (Have A Cigar) on there as well.
Big in Japan featuring Gogol Bordelo (Original by Tom Waits from the album Mule Variations).
Don't forget their studio EP, "Miscellaneous Debris," released way back when...which might have contained their first released Floyd cover ever? Kick ass version of Floyd's "Have A Cigar" on there, among cover songs from other artists, including Peter Gabriel's "Intruder."

The one after Jerry was a racecar driver was over the electric grapevine
claypool went into several different projects. he would appreciate that you said he sucks. primus sucks is a compliment.
Jay lane is a master
Seeing them on the Dec 31st New Year Show. Websites says more news to come, I hope Gogol Bordello show's up or someone else to ring in the New Year!.
jesus god that dude might be the best primus drummer yet, which is saying an assload.
This is possibly the best live performance I've ever seen! Golden Boy sounds amazing.. Loving the covers too. Primus need to release a new live DVD.
It would be nuts if Les, Ryan bass from mudvayne, and flea play together. That I would be like a spice of heaven to me
Funny enough, that is the ORIGINAL, ORIGINAL drummer who joined when primus was first formed, later to leave and be replaced by alexander, and mantia.
That's a combo of awesomeness! Les Claypool playing Pink Floyd looking like a rock version of Mr. White with Slash's hat! Cool in all levels!
that's obviously not slash, that's tommy the cat in the hat
holy shit. primus/les claypool doing pink floyd is one of my favorites. fuck yes.
amazing cover, yeah. they released have a cigar on a single in the 90s also. (miscellaneous debris)
Jay is nothing short of spectacular in this particular performance. He really gives Primus a new range to work with in my opinion. Jilly's On Smack is proof. One of the most original songs I've heard in a while.

I missed this show. So I took eleven bong hits, and watched this.
Primus are soo cool, that's insane bass play!
more than a month ago i saw primus for the first time in mexico city, three shows and i cant stop watching these videos
This version of Groundhogs Day should be broadcast throughout the universe for all beings spritual and living to behold ....
Oh hell yes Golden Boy!!!
From little bars to Red Rocks! Primus Sucks!
Best Floyd cover ever period
It was GLORRRRIOUS!!!
Herb always be my favorite primus drummer, but Jay lane just killing it this show!
this golden boy is legendary
this was a great show to be at. first primus experience
Let's not forget Gogol Bordello opened for Primus, which was a whole nother show of its own. Not bad for $50
Saw Primus on this tour, it was awesome.
Just when you think the awesome has reached the absolute limit Gogol Bordello walks up on stage with Primus.
One of my all-time favorite bands, Primus plays to the edge of reason -- then takes it a bit farther!
They have released multiple Floyd covers before, check out the les claypools flying frog brigade. "The band released two live recordings in 2001, Live Frogs Set 1 and Live Frogs Set 2. "Robot Chicken" is actually a Primus song. It's from the Brown Album, it's called Golden Boy.
Larry LaLondes guitar parts sound a lot cooler on this live version of pudding time than the album version.
And a Tom Waits cover... I am speechless. Every time I hear this band I get more and more respect for them - truly individual music.
saw les minus primus at the anchor inn...it was insanely good, he's a true virtuoso and maestro
Damn, Red Rocks sounds amazing.
These guys must be exhausted after every show.
yes yes it is and it's wonderful!!!!
i cant wait to see them after Tool on Halloween.... #monstermashbitch
Les on the whammy bar at around 3:59 during Pudding Time, is insane. Don't blink or you'll miss it.
Yes they came out with a new album in 2011. Green Naugahyde. Despite what the critics say, I think its a pretty kick ass album.
What a great performance Les!!
Mr. Claypool is the God of Bass Players.
I simply cannot wait to witness them at Red rocks in April!!!!!!!!!!
Primus doesn't suck. They are a trip.
Jay Lane is a bastard on those drums.
Les is a Bass Beast Extraordinaire! Everything he does is absolutely incredible! PRIMUS ROCKS!!
Primus will be sucking this Friday in CHICAGO and Saturday in Kalamazoo MI. Please bring lots of goodies. K andy is dandy.Look for the blue cane.
Amazing bass solo on groundhog day !!
Thanks
Great great. Just great.
this show was so worth the ticket I bought! great to be able to relive it thanks for the upload Brainphreak
Ill be seeing them on the 30th I think, awesome 3d show! Super excited for the 3d'ness!
