I was at this show tripping my balls off. I've seen Primus, Fancy band, bucket of bernie brains, solo les shows and many more. This is one of the best I've seen. All Good Festival was fucking WILD. Always a good time and all heads. I miss it. Thanks for reading my blog. Cheers🍻
I've listened to a lot of great bands in my 60 years and no one has done more in music than Les Claypool. The man has had so many different bands and he has redefined music and bass playing....in my opinion he is the all time best at music of a different genre. No one will ever be better!!!!!
Les is certainly his own genre. Not for the uninspired or faint of heart. This new stuff he's been noodling around on with Billy Strings will hopefully result in an album of sorts. Hopefully it's already in the works. A boy cannnnn dreaaammmmm!
I miss this so much. The Fancy Band was something else, probably why Les says here it was his favorite band to play with. Probably not the most profitable of his music endeavors, but definitely the most next-level.
100% agree. To this day the Fancy Band shows of the mid 2000s have been at the top of my list. The places they explored in their improv jams were unbelievable. I wish they would do another run one of these days.
@@reginaldfitzpatrick8681 same here - I dream they would do this again. I caught quite a few shows of this iteration (plus minus some folks depending on year) in Indy, Chicago and Milwaukee. Without a doubt some of my favorite shows of my life. I have seen Primus several times since they reformed post Fancy and LOVE them. But I would pick a fancy show over that for sure.

I had the pleasure of doing sound for the Xylophone player's band the other night. Mike Dillon and Punkadelic and it was awesome. Cool dude and every bit as eclectic as Les which I realize is a really high bar. I knew that he did this stuff with Les, so I kinda knew what to expect and I knew it was going to be great, but it still surprised me. Let's be honest, in order to have your mind blown with music, you must first be suprised and then it has to be awesome on top of the suprise. It was awesome. I had a great time. I also got the chance to see Primus at All Good one year and I believe that Brain was playing with them for that show, which I always loved his drumming. Some people hate on him but I never really understood that. It's been a long long time since I've been to All Good (Or anything else that size TBH), but I really loved that festival before it got just a little too big, like all the great festivals.
I met Mike at a solo show he played immediately after he'd just finished playing with Primus during the Wonka tour at the Flynn. He was at Nectars in Burlington, VT. Super awesome/intense guy.
