I eagerly began studying theology and after a year, I became discouraged because of the thought it would have little benefit for the wider community. This video has helped to encourage me, and I pray awaken me from my dogmatic slumber.

I am greatly impressed by all the theological videos put out by the Theology Department so far. I especially like the Bibledex series. If only I could study with you all! I love your approach to Christian faith.

Have studied with the Jesuits at Milltown- now sadly no longer open-- for a good few years and found study there very good and a great help to give a better understanding of prayer in the Church and Christian tradition. Milltown was both''Library and Coffee shop''. Anyone out there reading Schillebeeckx now?

If I could be so bold to add, that theology is a discipline which has as it's objective the discovery of truth, and that in itself is sufficient to justify the discipline. For likewise the propositions and theories of natural science and history are no less valuable for the lack of universal appreciation, awareness, or agreement.

I agree we are in community and teach each other, but what are we teaching each other? What is the basis to weigh if what we are teaching is true? My first encounter with the idea of a systematic approach was Calvin. Heavy reading but I came away changed in my thinking on God, etc..
