Been meditating for nearly 15 years and used to heal alot of trauma. I have begun to see it as an unravelling of patterning . Jolt is just a symptom of this. We are releasing and processing shock much of the time. Our body in deep relaxation gets the chance to process the past whether physical emotional or chemical . Higher self states returning to baseline . Sometimes these shocks can feel much scarier and in some cases of deeper trauma move the body in ways that can seem quite aggressive , other times very subtle . Everytime this happens its another piece of the proverbial puzzle. Feldenkrais and hemi sync can be great ways to stimulate the body prior to silent meditation as it's bringing a greater awareness of self before a period of stillness.
Hi ty for sharing. I meditate a lot and I have understood these jolts as a healing of tension or emotional release. Sometimes the jolt is in my jaw and its bc i carry a lot of tension there and tend to clench my teeth. Sometimes it is my shoulder and I have even felt yanks on both feet as well as various other points such as neck and arms. I have even felt this in my heart chakra and solar plexus-a feeling of energy that is pulled out or rather “jolted” out. It has become quite normal in my meditation routine and have just naturally understood this to be my body’s wisdom to release. Ty for confirmation of my intuition.
Thank you so much for this, I am meditating for years, and now after years, my meditation got very deep and this jolts started to happen and made me realy afraid... And thought maybe I need to stop meditating and it made me very sad. Your video was very helpful.
Hello Shamash. Thank you for your calm and peaceful voice. I was wondering about the jolts I have been experiencing for the last few days. My experience is a little bit different than what you answered. I was gifted with a sudden, strong kundalini energy ~1 week ago and I have been trying to navigate through it. It was hard at first, I needed to focus on my breathing all the time, when I'm awake, just to get used to this energy. My breathing during my daily life feels like it's meditative. I can control it, barely breathe, and still walk and do house chores. However, my body feels tired and when I try to sleep, I'm awakened by those jolt, always. Sometimes when I'm staring at the screen, my head falls for a split second and I get the jolt. It feels like I have not used my body before and my kundalini just does not want me to go back to sleep. Feels like she's telling me to do whatever I want to do without getting anxious or rush. I obviously fall asleep sometime but when I look at my smart watch, I only sleep 3 hours a day (1.5 hours here and there separately). I accepted this and I feel ok. As per duality principle, this energy is both a gift and a curse. I accept the curse and try to put it into positive perspective. I now have 21 hours a day, I feel quite ok, it feels like I have time for everything without feeling any rush! :) So, this is my experience. I changed my view on sleep. I eat healthy, listen to my body all the time, give the body what it needs when needed. 8 hours of sleep is a construct for a modern world. I just listen to my body and mind, then do whatever it tells me to do.
Hi Eren Turkey, Thank you for sharing your unique and insightful experience with kundalini energy. I think It's impressive how you've adapted to this new state of being, integrating it into your daily life with mindfulness and acceptance. It’s great how you’ve embraced both the gift and the challenges of this energy, turning it into a positive force in your life. Your perspective on sleep and listening to your body’s needs is a valuable reminder for us all. Do remember, this is a recent experience for you, so as you know, things will shift and change over time. A question you may like to gently reflect on is: 'Who is experiencing this energy?' Thanks again for sharing your powerful experiences, Shamash
@@shamashmindful my bad, I always get excited and comment my initial thoughts. But yes, the video was very helpful, but like alot of "seekers" sometimes I want a specific finite answer, where these questions have so many answers. I think it may be an energy flow thing.
So this isn't the first time but this time felt alittle different. I would jolt I guess awake from meditation a few times but this time when it happened to me I could like feel my blood moveing through me. There was more of a feeling to it that I can't explain. I felt good though once I was settled back in. I Almost choked in my breath too when this happened it was a very interesting feeling.
I had this exact thing happen the other night I was doing an spiritual Awakening meditation I had the strongest electric jolt hit my pineal gland it made my entire body jump up off my bed
HYPNIC JERKS, that's what it is called. I am experiencing it and do NOT like it at all, it is making me not want to mediate. I don't feel relaxed or peaceful afterwards.😢
Sorry to hear you don't like it at all. Yes, I agree, sometimes it can be helpful to take a break from meditation. Alternatively, you could try some other meditations, such as mindful movement / yoga / taichi which are all very good for us too, or other grounding meditations perhaps....just some ideas here I thought I'd share. All the best and thanks for the comment.
Hi I was trying to Find an answer to this, I was so deep I’m meditation and in a state of pure bliss when my mind felt like it was being pulled really fast back to reality with a jolt . It’s the strangest feeling x
Hi, I think it could be several things. If you’ve had a car accident or other physical issue, your body may be naturally fixing it. Or if there’s some emotion or past challenging experience that’s trapped in that region you could be releasing it. Or some believe it’s some kind of spiritual experience. Personally I would let it be and explore it and see what happens over time as I keep meditating. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾
Is it normal for ur body wanting to dance? I felt this today so intense I had to dance. it felt so good! I didn’t hold back I just danced to meditation music .
Hi. If your room is not cold, and normally your hands are warm, but in meditation, they cool down, I'm not too sure why. I suggest you try doing some breathing exercises where you breathe out for longer than you breathe in. E.g. 4-6 Breathing. This engages the relaxation response, and you may find your hands start to feel warmer, because in the relaxation response, the blood vessels in the skin dilate, making hands feel warmer.

Great question, i get these little/medium jolts of energy? Like a hiccup of energy, jerk and jolt.❤
Hope the video helped to clarify what it may be about, Anthony.

Oh wow! Sounds like it was a very enjoyable meditation. Hope this has clarified things a bit. 🙏🏾
I would get a jolt that would start at the base of my spine and go up my spine that would arch my back immediately what was going on with that?
