I don't really care what gender you identify as, if your biological sex is male, you cannot change that regardless of how you identify, dress, mutilate your body. If your biological sex is male you should not be in girls/women/female only spaces.

I CANCELED my PF membership loudly. I was very vocal, yet respectful to employees. They told me DOZENS of people canceled their memberships that very day.

Financial loss is the only language these companies understand. That 17 year old should sue Planet Fitness for intentional infliction of emotional distress and sexual harassment, and demand punitive damages for several million dollars. After all, her innocence was destroyed forever, while Planet Fitness not only tolerated, but aided the pervy behavior nationwide.

Just this week my husband canceled our entire family's membership at PF. When asked why he told them straight up he doesn't agree with their locker room policies.
So glad I stopped going to Planet Fitness years ago. I canceled after they set off that silly "Lunk Alarm" because someone complained that I was running too fast on the treadmill. The staff said it could make other members feel intimidated. The newest revelations just show how much the brand has really jumped the shark.

Fyi, All gyms allow this. That's why I had to stop going...gold's, LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Crunch Fitness. I encountered multiple men in the women's locker room at multiple gyms. All management did was tell me they were women. Nope. I cancelled my memberships and now go to Snap Fitness. They have no locker rooms...just single-use bathrooms. Fine with me.
Gyms will NOT come out and tell you they allow men in women's locker rooms. They'll say they don't but when you finally encounter a man with his pants down, they'll tell you, "That's not a man." Don't trust these gyms. Ask them if they allow "transgenders" in the women's locker room. Most will lie because they want your contract on the books.
My state made it a law that gyms have to allow people to cancel their gym memberships online this month. Just in time for me to cancel my Planet Fitness membership without having to go there.

Guy here. I’ve traveled for work my entire 3-decade career. I have worked out in dozens of public gyms. It has never… NEVER… occurred to me to freaking SHAVE in the Men’s locker room. Let alone the ladies room. Shaving is for the hotel room or for home. That’s a power move. Ladies may not be wired to see it, but rest assured that us guys do. Next time, find a few friendly meat heads to take care of things.

Pro tip - You can cancel online on the website, not the app if you live outside California. I transferred my home gym to a location in California, and instead of it saying Transfer, it said Cancel. I was able to Cancel hassle free without having to go into the gym or send a stupid letter.
Just make damn sure you check your bank to make certain they stop taking your money. PFs in California require your bank routing and account numbers. 😕 It said online you have to cancel before the 10th of the month not to get charged on the 17. However, you're still paid up to the 16th, so you can go in and be obnoxious (peacefully protest) for 6 more days. 😂
That must be relatively new, then, because I canceled my membership a few years ago for other reasons and was not able to do it online. I'd restarted the membership last year, but canceled it again recently due to all this and made sure to tell them why. Guy was like, "Yeah, I know" as soon as I started telling him why, lol.
@@silverfireVRgaming From what I read, California makes it a requirement to be able to cancel all subscriptions online. I recently moved from California to Ohio and I wasn't able to cancel online when I transferred my home gym to Ohio, but then again I was trying through the app instead of the actual website.

You can also just call your bank and forbid them to allow any further money to be removed from your account by planet fatness. They have to comply.

As an ex employee of PF if you want to cancel you can always change your “home location” (the one you signed up at) and wait a week then cancel at the new location if you ever have issues canceling at the current location
You can also just call your bank and tell them to disallow and charges from PF.

When my husband and I started dating 6 years ago, he told me the “slippery slope” was just a logical fallacy once when we were talking politics. Now he’s changed his tune. He told me recently, “I didn’t believe it then, but now I know it’s true. I just had to see it in action. I like CLUB4 Fitness, they may just be in the south but it’s a 24/7 gym and only $15 a month for a regular membership.

I'm not from the US, but I read that someone had a hard time canceling their membership by phone/ website at this gym, and he smarted them out hoing at the place, then going in the locker room, took a picture, show them the picture and the canceling went pretty fast after that 😂

Just got back from planet, canceled my subscription to them
I’m a 55 y/o man. I truly enjoyed going there. I went in person to cancel my membership. They did not ask why.
When tolerance is accepting a dogma.

If I tell my bank that a company refuses to cancel my membership for whatever reason they bank just stop their access to my account
They can't refuse you. And if they charge you demand that the bank reverse the last charge. If its within 30 days they will do it. Smartest thing to do is the day before you cancel you can call your bank and inform them that no money is to be allowed to pay out of your account to Planet Fatness. Just look at previous statements, find what name and format they used for the charge and tell the bank to disallow any future charges to be withdrawn from that entity. They will honor it, they have to. It's your money and if you tell them not to pay out to someone specific or a company they must comply. They only way Planet Fatness can get around that is to get a court order to garnish your account, and to do that for 10$ will cost them several hundred....they won't bother.
I had an issue with another company charging me more than they had told me & my bank said I had "an agreement " with that company so they couldn't do anything aboit it! 😡

No it depends on when you cancel. I worked there some years ago but just tell folks to cancel before the 10th. After that your membership fee will come out if you cancel between then and the 17th

The problem is, before all this, if a man went into the women locker/bathroom, he’d have to worry about there being more than one woman and those women going and reporting him to employees who would kick him out and call the police.
Now if women speak up about just being uncomfortable, they’re shamed.

Different organizations have different rules. I haven’t done many tournaments but I’ve done a handful and I haven’t seen any trans athletes in the women’s division. You could just ask the tournament organizers-it’s a totally reasonable question for a totally reasonable concern!

When I cancelled my membership, the guy at the desk typed "No Time" as my reason for cancelling. I told him I can't support a gym that allows men into the women's dressing room, but they can't put that in the database.

Some YMCA gyms have gotten stricter to help protect others. One YMCA gym had a worker follow a gym goer because he had assumed she was trans and wanted to protect other women. Turns out just a senior citizen woman with short hair and visible wrinkles.
Bathrooms and locker rooms are about taking care of your PHYSICAL body, not your mental state. How is this not obvious to the woke.
My Anytime Fitness in Dallas Tx doesn't have locker rooms. Instead, there are 2 bathrooms. Each bathroom has one shower, one toilet, and one sink. Each bathroom is obviously unisex, so once you enter you lock the door and have complete privacy.
I worked for the Y, and I’m not surprised. Christian in name only. I also roll my eyes when they talk about “the Y way”.
Think it depends on the location. The YMCA I go to doesn't allow that

The planet fitness I got to the women just stopped going into the changing room altogether. They come in their workout clothes and just leave. Many of them are elderly and disabled and just want to heal their bodies eith light workouts, they dont want to feel embarrassed or anymore vulnerable. Pretty sad.

I just logged in from my phone on my web browser and it only took a few minutes to transfer my home gym to one in Fresno, CA and then go back in to manage my account and there was the cancel option!

They say that's inhumane because it "forces" people to undergo very invasive surgery. We used to have that as a requirement for a legal change of gender in my country, but the government has officially apologized for that and it's now discussed like it was some serious human rights violation.

Last time when this was brought up, I was unsure if I should cancel. I didn't want to sacrifice my fitness and health for this. But the thing that changed my mind was the promise I made my fiance. Id promise id keep myself safe when he wasn't around to protect me. I won't put myself in a position like that.
Fyi, All gyms allow this. That's why I had to stop going...gold's, LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Crunch Fitness. I encountered multiple men in the women's locker room at multiple gyms. All management did was tell me they were women. Nope. I cancelled my memberships and now go to Snap Fitness. They have no locker rooms...just single-use bathrooms. Fine with me.
Gyms will NOT come out and tell you they allow men in women's locker rooms. They'll say they don't but when you finally encounter a man with his pants down, they'll tell you, "That's not a man." Don't trust these gyms. Ask them if they allow "transgenders" in the women's locker room. Most will lie because they want your contract on the books.

I saw a few people mentioning still getting the monthly fee withdrawn after cancelling. When I worked some years ago it needed to be before the 10th. You could probably go a day or so after but usually the payment is already being processed. Pf is franchised owned and not every gym can pull up all of your info. Sometimes that’s a reason why another gym won’t cancel the membership. You can also send a letter if you’re out of town

It's a separate issue, but super important. I saw the RFK, Jr. video where he talked with a woman who explained how equity firms buy up independent businesses, keeping their name & the likeness of their former owners, to make them appear to be local businesses when they aren't! They can eventually have a monopoly on the market & people will have to pay whatever price they charge because there will be no competition! It's was a SUPER enlightening vid!

Fun fact, 2 years ago i had a similiar event in the military (Bundeswehr), in which a biolical female that identifies herself as a man went into the mens locker room when we were swimming (part of the basic fitness test). I was at that point something like an assistant drill seargent and it was my first day when i suddenly realised that something at this recruit was....missing...well first i didnt say anything and just went on doing my stuff but when she stepped out of the locker room with the other recruits and wearing nothing then a slipper i was asking the drill seargent if that is even allowed...just u can imagine him...he is the kind of full metal jacket drill seargent. with a very short fuse line and a hot temper...and u really saw how is faced dropped and, for a second, he was completely speechless. (she was basicly standing topless in a public swimming area)
Then he asked her, as calmy as possible, "private XY where is ur swimsuit" (women get one from the army) and she replied "i didnt took it with me" so he asked her, with all the mental restraint that was left in his body, "why not" and before she could finish the sentence that she identifies as male he went into absolute berserk mode. We call that "Sprengung" (detonation)^^
Next day, in the morning when we count if everybody is awake and fit for service she reported she is ill/sick. I asked her whats her condition and she replied that she has uteral problems.
At that moment the drillseargent replied "i didnt even know that men could have uteral problems"
Well end of the story: She filed a complaint against the Drill seargent and he got some sort of disciplinary punishment for making jokes about her/his gender.
She quit few weeks later.

The sad thing is, s/he could have easily worn the swim trunks and shown some grace and respect for hi/r comrades. It's one thing to claim to be a man, and quite another to be a gentleman. I guess it just wasn't that important to hi/r.

I'm sadly not shocked this type of stuff happen I remember so many saying this type of stuff would happen like 5 years before the trans stuff blew up and look what happen
It happened way more before the trans stuff blew up. Back in the 80’s this happened high rate for certain gyms and not many laws or rules about it. There were some incidents 5-10 years ago but just happened to be older women with natural short hair being assumed trans at the gym.
Some people have the ability to look ahead for possible problems. Unfortunately a large number of people can't look ahead, and shouldn't be voting or in certain management or planning jobs.

This is a shit place. My daughter was being harassed at work by 2 male workers, and they did nothing. Meaning she went all the way up corporate, and nothing was ever done. Unfortunately, Covid happened, and she let it all go, but basically, she had to quit her job because 2 men wanted to be inappropriate with no consequences.

I went to a bar recently and was disturbed by the bathroom situation. It’s a shared sink area with stalls on each side, and everyone just uses the same bathroom. Thankfully it was early in the night and my husband was with me, but I would hate to be drinking heavily then go into a bathroom like that late at night with drunk men. That’s a disaster waiting to happen. It’s scary how normal it’s becoming to take away women’s spaces. So many restaurants and bars are like this where I live.
I’m from about 40 minutes outside Gastonia and I am outraged that this happened to a minor! I’m glad that someone called 911 and that Gastonia Police arrested him. The only reason he was though, is because of “NC House Bill 2” which requires people to use the bathroom of their gender at birth. When it was passed it caused a lot of controversy but the reason it was passed was exactly for situations like this.
They are so not judgment free.
