In fact, I can even see good men going out of their way to give a woman privacy (like letting her take care of her business in the locker room alone and only coming in as she leaves). It may eventually come to that if the powers that be keep allowing mentally disturbed men to act out their sexual fetishes in the women's locker room.

As a father of 18 and 16 year old girls, these title IX changes concern me. I think they are directly putting my daughters at risk.
I'm glad you don't have any sons. They now have a Kangaroo Court system that governs any accusation a girl makes against them. Trump had reformed that to allow Due Process, cross examination, etc, but Biden undid it. Oh, the courts will almost certainly punish the colleges, but the settlements (after years) are rarely enough to deter the colleges from doing this.

I’m a 30 yo male, I had a false accusation a few years back.
It was the most terrifying thing to have, and then to proceed with.
Before I could even speak to defend myself, I was in jail for a week. I made sure to have a lawyer within the first 24 hours, but the system was so fucked that I sat there waiting to be released. All while knowing keeping my mouth shut till I speak to a lawyer would be best.
Even after everything I went thru for a solid year and a half of having to come to terms with defending myself- i had to learn how to aggressively defend myself- the girl admitted she was lying and charges dropped. I still had to go thru a process of proving to the court that im not a SA’er.
Christ it was just disgusting knowing that I had to immediately go to SAA just to show the court I’m not a threat to society. It broke my spirit having to prove myself innocent.
Not to mention how it’s affected me socially. The people who know me- family, friends, coworkers, and clients- all know me and all knew the person. They knew immediately I wasn’t some monster. Even still I’ve closed off to people, cause it was traumatizing.
It was traumatizing to walk the same chain gang as rapists and killers. Have to sit around and listen to true predators in group circles who are absolutely revolting. I could only empathize to a certain extent with these people till they got into their actions. I couldn’t stand being even in the same room as them after hearing these people then knowing this is what you’re being compared to.
Then for the charges to be dropped and laughed off like oh it was just a joke. You know what it’s made me? Fucking bitter and closed off to this shithole of a society.
A similar thing happened to my brother-in-law (before my sister married him ... she stuck by him during the whole ordeal, much to our protest, and they married upon his release from 3yrs in jail). My B.I.L. did make a mistake involving a 16yo minor, but her father is the one who demanded max punishments - and the Judge, who made a point to mention how he had daughters, barely let him defend himself... and even the lawyer admitted that it was a pony show of a trial because it's impossible to win those cases, especially in Florida. You suffered just the same, but at least you were not fully convicted... could have been worse...
My B.I.L. was put in prison with the sort of monsters you mentioned, for 3yrs, and when mixed with non-SA/O inmates, he was beaten, and the cops literally turned their backs when it happened. At one point, he was getting targeted so badly that he was moved to a block that was ONLY those monsters, and at least he was not physically tortured, but mentally it was horrific. Like you said, they would tell stories, be bragging to each other, and he said he would literally vomit at having to hear it, but feared saying anything. He was made fun of for being innocent, but at least he wasn't beaten anymore... His only solace was when he was placed in a work program where he worked with animals, and when he got out, was able to find a good job doing the same thing.
He is a permanent "red dot" on a map, and cannot go to a theme park if he wanted to, let alone ever buy a home! He is labeled the exact same as someone who defiles a toddler, and not to say that he was 100% innocent, but he did not deserve to have his life to be ruined this way. And just like you, he was traumatized beyond words. He lost three years of his life in the walls, and the only thing he (and my sister) took from it was how the "judicial system" is biased and political, like everything else in the U.S..
I was actually a victim of a true assault long ago, and never turned the guy in because of who he was, I knew it would be MY life that would be ruined instead of his. That said, for every woman/girl who is truly attacked, there are dozens of girls who will lie, or have zero qualms about punishing an innocent man over hurt feelings. I'm sorry that it happened to you - and to thousands of other guys, for that matter ... And the thing is, now that this new stupid law is happening, the tables will be turned and it will be innocent women who will be accused! My how the world has changed... and NEVER for the better, it seems.
Again, I'm just a total stranger to you - and I know nothing can ever fix the damage... but maybe you can find solace that Karma is real and maybe that girl will get a terrible disease, or worse, and will suffer internally as you do 🙂 The guy who 'hurt' me, yeah, he ended up being paralyzed and could not repeat what he did to me to anyone else - so that made me happy... silver linings 🙂
@@TamJoy I count my blessings. And I’m sorry to hear about your B.I.L., it’s a brutal system no matter how it goes. I am very lucky it happened the way it did. I’ve always been a somewhat naïve person when it comes to the outside world, as I wear my heart on my sleeve. But that taught me a lot and hardened me. It’s what I needed to find happiness in my world alone and to be thankful for the people in my inner circle.
I have no enemies, and wish nothing bad upon the person who tried to tear me down. Karma won’t ever reach them. As for me, I’m glad that I’m alone because this dating landscape is toxic and I’ve seen the other side of the worst of it.

The literal constitution that’s being amended tells us that we have the fundamental right to free speech and expression. They can’t try you for a crime that isn’t a crime. We have rights too.

Right to privacy (aka woman-only spaces and male-only spaces). Theres a reason we have these boundaries in place, and it’s because predatory behavior should be as restricted as possible in a society. If we let men into female spaces, they could easily overpower a woman, making things like sports severely unfair, while also opening up the possibility of women getting SA’d. Many also generally feel uncomfortable with the idea, so I don’t know why this is even being considered.
Moral of the story is this: just because somebody says “well play nice!” Doesn’t mean they will. Trans MtF are just as capable of malicious acts as any man would be. While I’m no feminist, I certainly won’t deny this as a possibility and a likelihood. People that advocate for this behavior are either delusional, or predatory. Simple as that.
EDIT: In case there’s an argument about whether the “right to privacy” is listed in the constitution:
Even if it’s not listed, it’s implied through the 9th amendment.
“The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”
In simple terms, this just means rights not listed in the constitution. There.
This gives sexual predators traction while taking away women's rights and making things more difficult and DANGEROUS for them.
And it was supported by a majority of the female voters in this country.

Now consider this, a transman (AKA a woman) is allowed in a men's locker room, whereupon she accuses a man of sexual assault. That man is then afforded no due process, and his life is ruined. Where, exactly, is it safe to be a guy on campus anymore?

Law isn't going to recognize them as a woman in trial, otherwise why is a woman in the men's bathroom. They can't just switch like that or it undermines them in law big time.
The process would be no more different than a man doing the same thing to another man. Plus given the fact Trans aren't very much liked in certain parts of the world, their case may be lobbed sided against them.

When I attended University i had bad break up and the guy would not leave me alone. He started stalking me on campus. I would just walk into the woman's bathroom just to get away for him. And I had to make a title 9 complaint against him. This scares me. I just think what would have happened if this title 9 rewrite was there when I was in university? Would he have followed me into the woman's bathroom? Because he always waited until I would come out of the bathroom so he could follow me some more.

What I have been able to say what he was doing? I'm disabled and it leaves me vulnerable and he knew it and he knew how to take advantage of that.
This is really scary. I had the protection of title 9 to help me deal with him but sadly that protection is gone.
I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I can’t imagine how that felt. I hope you were able to do something about him. I’m physically disabled. I depend on someone helping me in the bathroom. But I think about the disabled people who are independent and go to the bathroom by themselves. It’s bad enough the disabled men have to use their own bathroom and have to worry about being targeted because there’s no family bathroom but now women have to worry too! (I’m not saying women can’t be mean but I feel like the odds of women bullying women are low.) I feel so unsafe and validated by this that’s it’s ridiculous!

Im 23 (almost 24), Gen Z, and mom to a 1 year old. My entire life, Ive aligned with democratic and left winged views. I remember growing up, whenever my mom gave us her opinion on these subjects I'd be like "youre so homophobic" and I would have never agreed with her more traditional views... now that im a mom to a little boy, I understand her and all of the traditional & right wing views.... I voted in my first presidential election in 2020 for Biden... now in 2024 I will be voting for Trump... I don't fully agree with all of his policies, but I now see that I have to vote and align myself with the candidate that has the best interest for ME and MY family.

I remember when Title IX was first passed and it destroyed many men's sports programs, such as wrestling, men's swimming, and gymnastics in colleges throughout the US. Women had no sympathy for the boys whose programs had been eliminated. They cheered about it. Title IX was "for women" so it must be good! Now that it's hurting women's sports, why should men care?

I feel like if I were a Congressman, and had only that limited a time to read (let alone digest) a bill like that, I'd just vote "No" on principle.
They just need to write a simple amendment stating that sex (as per this statute) is male/female based on chromosomes, and not gender identity with respect to title 9.

I went into a woman locker room twice in my life once in middle school where my friends pushed me into the girls locker room and the second when i was 18 and before going in i stopped a girl and explained my situation which was bathrooms in mens locker room were broke and she looked in saw no one and said it was ok for me to take a dump while she stood guard by the door leading into the locker room. She saved my pants that day.

When I bring a patient onto the ED I'm going to tell the doctors/nurses what I see biologically. I've unfortunately had issues already involved individuals who identify as the other genders and the last thing I want is to end up in jail over trying to save a life/transport someone to the hospital.

I also work in this field and have had the same issue. We are supposed to respect "non-binary" or whatever both men and women have multiple common ailments that the other dont experience. So what am i supposed to do if they are saying that stuff to me? Rip their pants off for no reason? Fastest way to lose a job lol

It's too bad that as an EMT in a first responder you can't just put them in front of the hospital and say here you go you are obligated and to take them inside the building and take them back and what not and they are not obligated to own that they were born with the wrong chromosomes that's not your fault they need to live with who they are before trying to take over women's sports and woman's health

Not only is this a severe violation of the 5’th amendment, (The Fifth Amendment says to the federal government that no one shall be "deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law." (Which has been completely ignored)), this is also a complete violation of the 1’st amendment which states, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This would make title IX unconstitutional, the judges need to get onto to that and declare it unconstitutional before it can take effect.
God, I cant even drive, and Im STILL smarter than the people in power.
With regards to your last sentence, I mean that's a pretty low bar. ANYONE who is paying attention to what their lawmakers are doing can see how bad some laws are, and you don't even have to be a legal expert to see what some defects in the laws are. Which begs the question - why can't the LAWMAKERS see those defects and fix it before submitting their proposal/bill?

Arguably I'd say this whole trans situation is being handled poorly by both sides. On the trans people side there are fucking psychos over there ruining it for everyone else when a vast majority of them are still regular people like you and I. On the other side we got a few genuinely horrible people that are arguably doing similar tactics to what was used against gays and blacks in the past. I'd say this situation is fucked for both sides and the government intervention here once again just fucks over both sides.
It's painful to watch because on one hand I know some wonderful trans folks that are good people that are arguably the opposite of what the media portrays trans people as, but on the other hand I get the fears of people because we unfortunately do live in a world where people will abuse whatever they can for their own gain.

As a young female myself, I am mortified. The thought of being sexually harassed/assaulted on campus and the school doing nothing but flip the table on me for "harassing a protected class." is terrifying. I agree that this shouldn't be up to one person or a group of people but rather the effected classes. As for the policy of "51 is good enough" I find that admin isn't always justified in suspicions. I was discriminated against in Elementary simply because of my background and was accused of harming another student when I was the one being harmed. This is completely stupid. What has happened to America?

This has happened years ago men do not get a fair trial. The school I went to in 2018 accused one of my friends of partying and doing drugs and sleeping with multiple women was excommunicated without trial when he was actually in his dorm playing video games and studying not to mention he has never engaged in sexual activity. So title 9 needs to be better for men and woman and there needs to be a process if people come forward with false pretenses
