$33 DIY Buy Nothing Dollhouse Makeover

Come check out how I did a quick and simple DIY makeover (on a tight budget!) with this dollhouse from a buy nothing group! I spent a total of $33 on supplies. I got rid of the red shutters and peeling finishes and gave it a facelift with a crisp black and gray exterior and charming wallpaper. I hope you enjoy the budget makeover and tour!

So cute. I love dollhouses and have made a few and continue to do so. I have used scrapbook paper a good bit as wallpaper, but I have never thought about laminating it for tile. What a great idea. Thanks for sharing. I am always on the lookout for free/inexpensive dollhouse items. It is such a relaxing hobby.

Linswy, I love that you are teaching your little girl how to craft dollhouses. One day she can teach that to her little girls. It is such a peaceful hobby and it help you express your inner crafter. I am an old lady now, but, I still craft. It relaxes me. My adult grandchildren tell me what a big kid I am. (smile) I love the creativity of building, decorating and renovating a dollhouse. When your paint is too watery you could try mixing a little bit of baking powder in it. Give it a try on the next project. :D

My sister recently gave me a dollhouse she had gotten at Hobby Lobby of course right away I had a an idea of what I wanted to do with it I had asked someone how to remove all the wallpaper and flooring she had put down I was told to use a heat gun but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be working like I thought it would any suggestions

Spray fabric softener on the walls and scrape off! Just elbow grease and a lot of scraping for the floors. 🙂
