  • Just a quick walk through of our work van and how we have it fitted out. Some feed back on tools we use as well if that helps . links are below. This new format of episodes will be more of the day to day stuff we do not just the fancy cabinets.

Look at this guy what a pro. Love seeing other high level carpenters out there. I've been feeling a little tired lately but it's nice to see the high level of professionalism. It's motivating. One of these days I'll make a van tour video too I've had fun getting mine set up after finally getting out of an economize and into a transit a few years back. Anyway.. looking good brother 👍

Hey, its is pretty easy to mod the 2 drawer packout into a single drawer if you just cut out the top drawers base and use the extra plastic from the cutout to attach the drawers together. Works for the 3 drawer as well making 1 large drawer and small drawer. Really easy to do.

Check out my new van video , I updated as well with a second van. I enjoy your videos as well. It’s nice watching someone who actually works real jobs. Most of the social media carpenters come across as inexperienced in field work. Thanks again

Diamondback Tool Belts are the shit. I’ve had mine for years. Like 7 years of every day use. No rips or tears. Looks like the day I got them if you clean all the saw dust, smudges of caulk and other viscera from it.

Nice set up! You can change the strobe to a solid light on the cordless Festool, google how to do that, and it will make it a whole lot better for you! I have a lot of the same tools, just in a custom 16' trailer, so nice to see someone else with a very close layout!

Great organization throughout this van! Tons of tools! I have one complaint. The van itself. I bought a 2017 Promaster brand new ordered with all the options I wanted. I thought it was a great van for a while. At 71k miles I had the #6 cylinder head go out causing a bad skip. $2800 fix and months of waiting on parts during Covid. Also had radiator replaced from 2 cracks! Replaced battery at the same time. Ok great Im back on the road again, crusing along at 91k miles. Another cylinder head #2 out this time. Ok so this time it was a small skip at a certain RPM and I could really just ignore it for now. Ok crusing along at 104k miles. Transmission went out completely! Very disappointed in these vans motor/transmission combo. They are the exact same ones as the Chrysler Town& Country mini vans in a freight van/work van. I ended up trading in my van for a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter V6 diesel. Fingers crossed it does better than the Promaster!

Thanks for the short explanations on several of your tools (great tour, by the way). Was wondering why you like the Festool impact better than the DeWalt. I had a DeW 18V for many years which I liked just fine. Now have a DeW 20V which works even better. Maybe I've just never used any other impact, thus don't the difference.

    • @jlgwoodworking3157

Because a Millwork carpenter uses lots of tools , jobs can vary and you use different tools for different jobs . Most importantly we do this for money so anything that speeds us up is helpful. In the end it’s about speeding production and quality.

So you have to unstack the Milwaukee packouts to access the items in it..... Respect to Milwaukee and everyone that sits at a desk designing packouts that have never been on a job site. Remember they stack digital folders with files not job materials or lumber. Weak bodies.
