This is one of those songs that goes way beyond rap. The story, the emotion, the production is just unfathomable. Especially when you consider a young rapper known for shock factor lyrics and being outspoken put this together One of the great songs of all time in any genre. Awesome reaction, love it when the reactor understands what they're hearing
My interpretation is this is not just about an obsessed fan. This song is reaching out to people (specifically young men) who had bad role models or none at all. He became an idol for a lot of poor young men with unresolved anger issues and this was his way of saying "don't emulate my slim shady persona, get professional help". I was one of these young boys and only recently have I understood the real message behind this song.
In 20 years, this is the only time I saw someone who actually got the exact meaning and reason for this song. Especially not a lot of Stans. And the haters just miss the whole point.
People say that in general, men and boys vent anger outward on others and women and girls vent anger inwards, to themselves. I dated someone that was angry at the world and I tried to show him that the world was okay. But he just got more angry, including at me. He did not want help.
Amazing reaction. He really needs to hear BAD GUY aka Stan part 2 It’s not fast, storytelling at it’s finest and what most consider a top 5 Eminem verse. So glad I found your channel subbed
He is mortified. I am cracking up. I’m 40 years old. I can’t remember why I walked into a room but I literally just recited every single word of that song as it was playing. I remember the albums having adult supervision on the front here in the UK anyway and our parents went out and bought us the album 😂
I really liked how the sons reaction to this song. It’s crazy to think at his age I might been like whatever to the lyrics in the sense that a lot of music during that time had great lyrics with dark stories too. It’s great to see how the next generations see this music. I imagine how they would react to Immortal Technique music. Keep up the great work though guys

I've heard (I don't know for sure) that after Em wrote the song, and Dido heard it, she reached out to him to make the video, and plays Stan's girlfriend in the video. It's about eight minutes long, and it really is like watching a movie. The story of the song is transitioned beautifully. I really suggest you watch it.

Hey, I really enjoyed your reaction to this classic. You talked about a high production value and it seems you like deep stuff. So I'd suggest to you reacting together to a German song from the band Rammstein, which is very popular all over the world. The song is called Deutschland (Germany) which is really really deep. It's about mixed emotions for your home country. A lot of people from nearly every country on earth can relate to this. I bet you guys have never seen something similar in your entire life. The production value is far over the top. And the song speaks for itself. Read the lyrics and enjoy the video and the song. You definitely must see that.

The guy on the left is a great long time listener reactioner. No singing or rapping along, no excessive body movements/dancing, no "heres the best part!" build up ruining.. just lets the song flow, only commenting during the chorus (and keeping it short), and giving the spotlight to the first time listener to do a proper reacting. Great reaction!
This is probably my favorite song ever but y’all should check out part 2 to this. It’s called bad guy. I’m subscribing now so I don’t miss it if you do it. Also bad guy came out like fourteen years after Stan.

By the way... dad probably wasn't a "rap fan" ether. (Or maybe he was, since he's Gen X.) I wasn't. Nobody was (in Gen Y). We just heard all the songs as "normal songs". On the normal everyday station that isn't "soft rock" or country, you have La Bouche, Will Smith, Ma$e, Linkin Park, Dr. Dre, Beastie Boys, P.O.D., Real McCoy, Vanilla Ice, Snow, Hollywood Undead, 311, Salt N Pepa, and, of course, Eminem. The only genres that had their own individual stations were country and metal/post-grunge. But really the majority of stuff that isn't played on the "regular" station but is on the rock stations was just "slightly less-famous" songs from the same metal band that we already knew. In 2001, EVERYBODY (in the high school/college) listened to the same songs. There were ZERO people in the school (probably) that "haven't heard X song because X is not my favorite genre". In many cases we didn't even consider genre. Like if you tell us that Lonestar or LeAnn Rimes are called country artists, we'd be very surprised, and in the case of LeAnn we have to go look up her songs if we hear this for the first time in 2014, even though the songs we know by them are also country songs, and Lonestar literally has Texas in their name. Whether you know all of the words to at least 25 rap songs is completely irrelevant to whether you "are a fan of rap" if you are in Generation Y. (And this is a Gen Y song, even though dad is Gen X - because every college kid and everyone under 30 and probably under 35, every generation before millenials, also listed to and liked all of the good music of the era.)
Eminem is just a great story teller and love to see you ppl the react to songs like kill me and see how mad they get especially says rape his own mother but its all in a joke and funny. everybody just needs to relax

Some have the censored version of the song from the censored album, which at least includes that later explanation of what was in the verse that was censored to the point of where you dont get all the story. But, on the censored part, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HAVE THE DAD FILL IN THE KARAOKE...
You dont need to put Stan on your playlist. If you're going to put an Eminem song on your playlist, without putting most of them, you'd put "Just Lose It" or "Without Me". But if you want a rap song for your strict metal playlist, that's Hollywood Undead. "Undead" for the most awesome music or "City" for the best lyrics. Of course Linkin Park would be the first rap to come to mind, but if we're trying to be "Dragula" that's Hollywood Undead.
