The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.
I can't believe that almost 50 years after his death, we are still hearing never before heard music, from Morrison and the gang.
But happy that we are!!! :)
So cool to hear Morrison singing in different registers than you would normally hear. The way he could hear songs in his head but he didn’t know how to play. I wish I had that. !! Been playing for years and never wrote anything that awesome.
Jim's voice is so different than anyone else I've ever heard. Lovely yet haunting
Kind of like Elvis
So much natural distortion. It's really beautiful.
The best band Ever!! Hearing all this different takes feels so amazing!❤️
Thanks! Jim
Truly an awesome band! I live where Jim was born. He spent several years in Florida. Besides being born there it’s also where his demise happened. I believe he went overboard because Florida back then especially was a huge retirement state. Both sets of my grandparents retired there. I think he wanted to cause controversy but not to that extent. Today Florida isn’t as stuffy as it was back then. But there’s still a ton of older people compared with other states. The Doors have always been my favorite band growing up and even now in my mid fifties.
This is the strangest life I've ever known.
The futures uncertain and the end is always near.
I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m going to have my kicks before the whole shit house goes up in flames 🔥...
This is so true here in 2020....
intersting and entertaining to Doors fans, but clearly the released version is the right one. "Save that one for the archives. Little did Jim know."
JK Morrison He Knew
Yes, he knew it was only going end one way.
The doors just give off that good vibe.
Been a fan since the 70's
My favorite vocalist of all time.
People ARE strange!!
Jim Morrison crammed 50 years of living into 27 years.. (Ray Manzerek 1983!) 😎
Its criminal of you guys to have unreleased tracks like this to this day. I love it way better than the original. Such a spooky lovely vibe to this take.
This is much better
I am sensing a Sinatra vibe in the beginning of the actual take. Marvellous stuff knowing he was a big fan 😁🤩
Jim's two greatest vocal influences were Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
Good to know that theres still unreleased stuff. The doors are alive!
❣️ The best Band of the World ❣️
You’re not wrong ❤️
They saved my life them and Zeppelin no joke
"Save that one for the archives, Paul."
He was so cool
dear James Douglas morrison every 3 July we are many in the world to come to the cemetery of Father Lachaise in Paris to sing your songs and drink Champagne 🍾🥂RIP 💚💚💚💚you see we haven't forgotten you
THIS IS PERFECT
It's amazing how many facets of Jim's vocal, there are
Did I hear Paul correctly? Did he say 24, as in take 24? Wow! That's insane. I've read that Paul was a perfectionist. I couldn't do it. I'd want to do no more than 10 takes. He also says 40. 40 takes is sooooo crazy.
Theyd mess around a lot in the studio so if you think about it thats not too many takes
I think on Soft Parade was even more takes. Everyone said that Soft Parade was the most gruesome for recording due to the takes.
The number one reason it took so many takes is that Jim was almost always drunk.
The last 2 mins of this video I was dying of laughter. Wish I was there in person, video taping it haha
literally the first falsetto line I've ever heard from Jim.
The Doors are one of the best bands in the whole world💕❤️and when this pandemic stops I am seeing Krieger since I have already seen Toto and met Steve Lukather!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Indeed!!
I will never forget his voice
No one has ever come close to this sound. This fucking band is magick
The Doors, the greatest band to ever come out of the USA, decades ahead of their time, their music sounds just as good now as it did 40 years ago!!
Simply, no equal, that voice, that face, that band, that time, and now forever, through art and music you live forever..and by the way, they were and still are " The FN Balls"
Awesome!
HOPE TO SEE THEM IN THE NEXT LIFE
Classic old school rock n roll🤘🇺🇸
I’m fucking blown away by this version/keyboards damn
Carnival love during halloween
Woaahhh! I love the first alternative take! Brought a smile to my face
If it were possible to go back in time, The Doors would have the best audience ever! Not those thousands of screaming and stupid kids, but fifty-year-olds who remained young at heart, with a deep knowledge of the lyrics, and of the musical and cultural value of this treasure! Can you imagine it ?! Jim would not need to do "Miami", he would drink a little less, he would not leave for Paris and the Doors would forever be four ... Here is our responsibility as an audience! Be mature and respect the artists, be understanding, patient, open to change, and grateful. Jim teaches us. The Door teach us! I am moved to hear this
I like the first version over the album!
And Jim, being playful and showing off his voice, always fun to hear him having a good time.
jim was a golden god, a poet supreme !
A wonderful end to the night, Happy times ahead, now drift away- - - 💈
my favorite rock band
After 40 takes it's amazing Morrison had any voice left at all- talk about killing the music. It's no wonder The Doors felt liberated when Rothschild was finally gone on the last album.
Yeah must of been very freeing
I just got this on vinyl. Seek it out. It's NIIIIICE.
They were bigger than life. They are still influecial because of their War like cry for peace and love
Excelente version su voz sus gritos simplemente por eso fue "el mounstro vestido de cuero negro" hasta se enchina la piel......excelente por esta version que no habia salido a la luz
"I am the lizard king. I can do anything." Jim
Oh my... That is beautiful...
Beautiful poetry and music, eternal....
The genius of the doors and loooovvve these versions
Oh ... and ... Jim: You ARE always the monster black dressed in leather and the voice of velvet and glass. Currently: you are the only monster we will ever love!
I can´t love you more, Jim and the Doors 😍

I love the doors so much 💘
Rip jim u stell inspire us even stell. To this day we love ya and miss ya see u on the other side🍄😷🍀
Best Part Of A Awesome Record.
Abrazos desde Mx, Morelia, Michoacán ❤️
Yeah...🙏❤️ j'adore
Paul: "Hey, Jim, we gotta lay down this vocal track."
Jim: "But I'm very drunk, even for me, and I have to pee."
Paul: "We need it now, Jim!"
Jim:
