    The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
    With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
    The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

    Jim Morrison/The Doors saved my life and I was born in 85'.
    This band helped navigate and understand my own complexities.
    I'm grateful Jim got to show full freedom of expression.
    I could only imagine if they had just another 10 more years. 😞Breathe happy thoughts.
    I will always adore the Doors. They are sacred to me. Thanks for eternity.

      Man I love that you said The Doors are sacred.
      To me its a blessing and curse everytime I go into a song its like a ritual.
      Its really important to me and I enjoy the hell out of it HARD.
      I drink to it and let it posses me . I sometimes sit and dont move a muscle...just to let it do its work through me 100%. It feels awesome.
      I am fucking addicted 150% to rock and the doors.
      its amazing I love it and its out of hand and unhealthy at times but I cant quit I never want to I love to Rock SOOO MUCH im going to die rocking its never gonna calm down and im really proud and fine with that cause its REAL cause it isnt the SHIT getting put out today I despise. @@luisangelmartinezmunguia4585 The track "Money" is good but, the rest is too mellow for me.
      Don't put me in the spot to bash Pink Floyd. Plz lol
      We are talking the Doors here! To me nothing is close. From the energy of the music, to the poetism that makes it daily applicable. The Doors are like no other. Absolutely timeless in every facet of the game.
      From my perspective: Let me open the DOORS if you will. Have mind you I was born in 85' and my first cassettes/CDs

      Wait Robby originally wrote it was Hit Me or is this some satirical comment?

    • @jvadoptante
      @jvadoptante 5 років тому +10

      @@nyfox1267 No I saw the interviews. Jim thought it was a safety issue. They resorted to "Touch Me" and it worked out.
      More related info: Jim also had a problems with Robby's lyrics of "get your guns" I believe it was on "tell all the people". Jim didn't want guns. He also had a legit fear of getting sniped. That's why he shafted Woodstock. They couldn't guarantee safety outdoor.
      That was the boiling point between Jim & Robby as far as who got credit for writing. Jim lost the gun argument but won the "hit me" one. The comprise was each song from then on, had a label of who wrote it.
      Jim really didn't like the gun lyrics. Maybe because how naturally prohetic he was. Who knows maybe he envisioned these gun issues that we have today.
      I also know Jim was deeply affected by the Tlatelolco massacre in Mexico 1968. Where their government executed 400 student protesters. Jim just didn't want anymore guns.

      @@jvadoptante Wow, thanks for the details I love the Doors and I always want as much info on them as possible. I did know Jim despised Tell all the people for the get your guns lyric but never knew about Woodstock, I thought that the organizers didn't want them playing, you mean to tell me Jim was afraid of essentially being murdered so they never played Woodstock?

    • @jamiej.tilleyphotographyar5177
      @jamiej.tilleyphotographyar5177 5 років тому +3

      nyfox12 Robbie originally wrote it as “hit me” because he was fighting with his girlfriend or wife. Interestingly, he has a black eye in the video for the song, but I’ve never read an explanation for that.

    • @jvadoptante
      @jvadoptante 5 років тому +3

      @@nyfox1267 Yes it's true. Don't forget his Dad was a General that played a huge part in the war. Jim tried his best to cover it up. Always said and wrote that his family was dead. He was fully aware of looming threats. I do believe they did go after Jim in Miami but not the way he thought. They went after his freedom of expression and ruined his image in the public eye.
      He never exposed himself in miami.
      Good thing my boys had heart.
      After court appearance they couldn't get a gig anywhere. People really got fearful to host them. That segwayed into the Doors performing in Mexico. Where I guess the "threat " had no ties.
      Also where Jim thought the youth could use a performance after the Tlatelolco massacre.
      Airbaja has a wonderful video with a tour handler describing Jim's events in Mexico. I highly recommend it. (I'm not affiliated)
      Apparently Jim liked alot of authentic Mexican Meat Soups & salads, 2x of everything lol. And ate mushrooms on the spot given from thankful fans lol. Dangerously compulsive I add.
      It mirrors his death in away of snorting a mistake, Pam sadly left on the table.
      The funny thing about Jim's stories is.... they don't stop coming! And there is alot of great lessons in his life. I could see why some dedicated themselves passing on his journey.

    Lyrics:
    Come on, come on, come on, come on
    Now touch me, babe
    Can't you see that I am not afraid?
    What was that promise that you made?
    Why won't you tell me what she said?
    What was that promise that you made?
    Now, I'm going to love you
    'Til the heavens stop the rain
    I'm going to love you
    'Til the stars fall from the sky
    For you and I

    Man that Harpischord is amazing! Bach style Harpischord on our record? You bet! I also love how Ray is slightly tapping the keys with his fingers at parts!

    Wow. This is much better than the original release, IMO. The strings and most of the brass were syrupy, though the sax solo swings and fits in well. But Kreiger's solo here is superb, giving the outro more air and bite. Then they looked into a yellow dog dish.

    It's a welcome improvement to the over-produced Soft Parade. I do miss the sax solo, it's more interesting and dynamic than the Krieger overdub.

    I love how Ray was a versatile Keyboardist going from the Electric Organ/Electric Piano Gibson instrument to Harpsichord as an Overdub. The best Harpsichord player? Bach, nah Ray Manzarek.
