Underrated masterpiece
Yes,it really is,What a damn great song,TAKE CARE AND STAY WELL AND SAFE, Walter B.Memphis.
Agree!
Most underrated Stones song
Yeap
Sad, it was the last Jimmy Miller produced album. What an amazingly talent man he was🙌👌
One of their best and most underrated songs. Pure magic, absolutely fascinating.
A truly masterpiece.
What a great album "Goats Head Soup" is.
100% brilliant from beginning to end.
I totally agree with you my friend. I have always thought this album was a masterpiece, however, I also think that it's very underrated. I think that during this time, the Rolling Stones were at their most creative, easily. 100 Years Ago is pure class, in fact every track on the album is pure class !
I rank GHS as their greatest album. A very, very close 2nd is Sticky Fingers. 3rd is Exile.
Keith riichards playing his guitar through a leslie speaker with a,wah wah pedle to great effext in this, song
Always loved this song...Now I can hear even more of it. Superb.
Goat's Head Soup is every bit as good as Exile, should have been another Double. The Band were still in the zone
Which zone? The cocaine zone or the heroin zone?
BETTER!!!!... BY a LONG way!
Quite significantly, Mick Taylor was there. Of course, there's more to it, but Taylor was staple to the sound and feel of that era.
My favorite Rolling Stones albums are Let It Bleed and Goats Head Soup.
Yes and pipes as well!
Can you hear their music ringing in your ear? Can you feel their magic hanging in the air... oh ya!
Goats Head Soup is my second favorite Stones album after Sticky Fingers, every song on both albums is a masterpiece.

Have to look that up
Plays just as good as it did in '73... Timeless R&R !!!!
Sorry Doug, it's not Rock and Roll.but I like it.
@@phillipanderson7398 Was about to say something along those lines. No, not basic rock and roll. It's actually quite psychedelic at a time when psychedelia had been dropped by most everyone.
It's a very shall we say STONED sounding track 😅
THE ROLLING STONES FOREVER!
another stones classic album masterpeice
Exactly. I love the Mick Taylor years, so creative.
This song just represents the feel of the whole album and should be played while looking at the poster of the Goat's head sitting in the soup. So freaky, dreamy, mystical and eastern. Love the recorder, bongos and piano intro.
I agree. This should be the last song (in my opinion).
Great comment.
This is one of my all time favourite albums and I think it's very underrated.
I bought this album straight at releasing 1973 and 2 months later I saw the guys live at bern....now the years passed by and I still love this album at all...
It has withstood the test of time. Since 1973 so many bands and solo artists have come and gone but the Stones are still going strong. Now you know why they earned the title the world's greatest rock & roll band.
WHAT S GREAT ALBUM BY THE STONES! MOSTLY OVERLOOKED BUT PACKED WITH GREAT MUSIC!!!
Analog static, Analog magic. The needle drops and blues come to life.
I really identify with the lyrics “Sometimes I wonder why we’re here, but I don’t care, I don’t care”. I appreciate existential dread in my art.
Also, I really dig Taylor’s guitar tone and parts whenever they resurface in the mix. What a great tune.
Not Taylor but Richards!!
Love this whole album. This song and Winter.....I twist a doob and chill in the tub
LOVE THIS RECORD
Im thinking that this actually may be my favorite song on the album. There are other ones that hit your soul harder for a few listens but I have always been able to come back to this one in a sort of longevity sense. Mr. D has a murky hypnosis, Angie is sheer beauty, Winter has the solo, but this is edging on something sublime. It's highly interesting to see them branch out into more experimental territory. The playing of the guitars is textural and psychedelic. It was Keith really stepping out of the comfort zone again. They pulled this off before with Moonlight Mile, Child of the Moon, and a few other rare times. I think historically people were not ready or willing to listened. The stones were sort of waning so doing something like this was a gamble. I think in 1973 people were kind of sick of rocking Brown Sugar Rocks Off Stones and more onto ballad Stones, and they especially did not want to hear ethereal experimental Stones when they already had Pink Floyd. In some parallel universe The Stones pursued this direction fully and it worked. If Keith stuck to acid and weed and kept off the booze and pills and powders, we may be having a different conversation.
Well, let's travel through space and time and rock out with our interdimensional selves...
Well thought out Eqx716; however, you left out one little ingredient to the successful mix: one little guitarist by the name of Mick Taylor.
For me, it's 100 Years Ago, Coming Down Again, Winter, and this song that hit my soul when I listen to this album.
What? You didn't mention Mick Taylor even once?? 🤦♂️
Do you think the recorder part is a little tribute to Brian Jones? It sounds like the kind of part he would have played.
Some of the greatest music ever!!! (My Opinion) RIP Charlie!!!!
Sign me up, I forgot all the gems on this album.
Me too,Man it is almost like a new album for me,l did not realize all treasures on this one, many,.Waiting on Goats Head Souo, hopefully this week. Can't wait to hear this new version,Man they cannot stop MAKING GREAT music,l am really glad bout that,They ARE my FAVORITE BAND ON THIS PLANET. And then there is the new one coming out, hopefully soon, think it will be,have a Great Labor Day,TAKE CARE AND STAY WELL AND SAFE. Walter B.Memphis. 😛☠💯
GHS, strange album. Took time to get used to, especially this song. Love it after hours playing the original vinyl. Still do. Won’t be buying the latest version. But, hope others do. Will always ❤️ the Stones. They are in my DNA.
Mine too,Really believe That.Man their songs hit me to my Soul. This is an Excellent Song, WOW. Love this.😛☠✌🌟💯
I also have the original 1973 pressing with the original poster. It's a great album.
Brilliant, FANTASTIC Uploas,Mick Jagger,Nicky Hopkins, What a treasure,Excellent rhythm,this song makes me sway,and l don't REALIZE l an swaying,.Thank You much,Walter B.Memphis. 😛☠💯💥🌠
Hey its The Rolling Stones the Greatest Show on Earth
Keith locked in drug addiction, made minor contribution to this album.
Mick J working with Mick (Taylor). Ensured Taylor was unfettered to blow us all away with his unrestrained guitar work.
YEAH take me back to 1973!
I played quite a bit of bass on the album too. I played bass on _Dancing with Mr. D._ (...) I played bass on that song _Coming Down Again_ I played bass on _Can You Hear the Music_ too.
*Mick Taylor, 1979*
Thank you for this one.
Where was Bill?
Hope Mick Taylor gets some royalties from the re-release of the album. Loved his contribution to the Stones 🙌🙌🙌🙌
@@deanelmore7352 Wyman was missing on a lot of the Exile tracks too. Usually he would get bored hanging around and when the band finally landed on something Keith or Mick Taylor or later Ronnie would play bass. A lot of tracks over the years without Bill on bass going back to Sympathy For The Devil with Richards on bass
Hmmm 🤔 ? did not know all that 👶🏼
The Rolling Stones at his very best on this "tripy" song.
Underrated gem
My favorite , i always wonder how this song is not popular ?
I’ll say it again Goats Head Soup is not given it’s do ,so sad ,but I love this album ,play it all the time nuff’ said !
OMG, this is the 1st LP I ever owned as a kid !
This is just AWESOME!!! THANKS from the bottom of my heart, guys!!!
AGREED, CERTAINLY SHOULD BE,WALTER B,MEMPHIS. 😛☠👍
I love this song 🎵 ❤️ it's most definitely criminally underrated 🎉🎉. I love that they step into something new that they have never tried before. That is what I love about Mick and Keith's songwriting, they are willing to take a chance on something that sounds a little different than what they usually do. That's what separates them from everyone else 🎉🎉
one of my Favos
stones saved my life so many times
I still got this album on cassette 👍👍
I will definitely be listening to this when im high :D
💫🎤🥁🎹🎸🎼👅🙌🏻
Grateful to hear the music 🎶
Sensacional música de um disco tão foda quanto subestimado! Longa vida aos Rolling Stones!
Eu amo The Rolling Stones. ... 💙🌹👏🏾💪🏾
This song on a pair of good headphones is sheer bliss. I believe Goats Head Soup is such a classic album and it brings back such memories. When Mick Taylor joined the band, The Stones entered another realm of music. Him and Keef blended blended together so well.
Yes, we can hear it and it sounds good.
Great song, great music, but don't forget Mick's great lyrics. Mick's one of Rock's best lyricists.
Goats Head Soup was stuck in my CD player when I traded my car in, this is another prime example as to why. Stacked Stones’ Wizardry.
One of my favorites love it 😻
Yes I do love this song
Love is a mystery / cannot be mystified
😎WOW😎
The best album, with great songs! Congats for the 60 years Stones!
This is ahead of its time I'd say.
Oh Ceylon 👏🌱🌱🌱
very scary and so good.
LOVE this song. Always have. And now it occurs to me that maybe this is another Jagger/Taylor creation. And that probably should have dawned on me decades ago.
Wahwah guitar is Richards!!
1) Never noticed that Rolling Stones' songs were written by Mick Jagger and Little Richards!! (kidding... who made the video???)
2) Outstanding playing from Nicky Hopkins.
Such a great album
@Keith richards hello 🤘
@Keith richards Well yes if it is the real Keith Richards but I don’t have any way of knowing that. I have actually met you once before in real life and have your autograph. If it’s you.
@Keith richards 😆
@Keith richards wow! Well You were incredibly gracious to me when I met you and that was many years ago now probably almost 30 in Denver in front of the market in Larimer Square. A beloved local institution that just closed in the last couple of years unfortunately. How’s life treating you?
@Keith richards I love The Rolling Stones!!
I'v been grooving since 73 only 13, so beautiful Charlie got me in the groove feeling the majik oh, yeah. Trouble disappears...
Love it. 💖💖💖💋💋💋💋
Hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
Brian Jones influenced... Moroccan music was attractive to Brian and he was exploring the puppies and melodies,,,prior to his death
Pipes
Exploring pipes and hypnotic drums
I remember reading the review of this album in the NME when it came out. The writer described the outro as having a feel of Brian Jones' ghost in it. Pretty accurate I'd say. Peace.
@@michaelround4511 Wow, that's understandable. ✌️
Morocco was a hot spot at that time for culture and music.
This could easily have been a track on Satanic Majesties Request.
Love is a mystery I can’t demystify, oh, no👌
oh. no. he never sings" love is a mystery " Mick sings " it's a mystery" . The 2020 mix is not as muddy as the original 1973 mix. Listen again.
The whole point of the song is that it's an ode to music, not love.
Rip Charlie 😪😪😪
The Rolling Stones never record a song like this after. Hipnótic ! I know many wont agree but for me "Goat Head Soup" is superior than "Exile on Main Street".
MUY BIEN ! !
Hey it's that same ol back beat rhythm and blues drop and kick amber with amped frequency fit for a king
Thank you for the years friends and I will be sharing your expressions of love and life
Hey
You taught me well
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
Can you feel the magic hangin' in the air?
Can you feel the magic? Oh, yeah
Love is a mystery I can't demystify, oh, no
And sometimes I wonder why we're here
But I don't care, I don't care
When I hear the drummer, get me in the groove
When I hear the guitar, makes me wanna move
Can you feel the magic, floatin' in the air?
Can you feel the magic? Oh, yeah
Sometimes you're feelin' you've been pushed around
And your rainbow just ain't here
Don't you fear, don't you fear
When you hear the music trouble disappear
When you hear the music ringin' in your ears
Can you feel the magic floatin' in the air?
Can you hear the magic? Oh, yeah, yeah
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
Can you feel the magic dancin' in the air?
Can you feel the magic? Oh, yeah
Love is a mystery I can't demystify, oh, no
Sometimes I'm dancin' on air
But I get scared, I get scared
When you hear the music ringin' in my ear
Can you hear the music? Oh, yeah
Can you hear the drummer? Gets you in the groove
Can you hear the guitar? Make you wanna move? Yeah
Can you hear the music? Oh, yeah
Can you hear the music ringin' in my ear?
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
Yes I hear the music
Can you hear the music?
Yes I hear the music
Can you hear the music?
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
Can you hear the music, can you hear the music?
On more than one occasion I've seen the Dead with a huge lightning bolt skull banner hanging down from the ceilings in front of stage left on the other side we have Rolling Stones lips Banner same size one picture is worth a thousand words and I'm good with that
Cool
Ritmo contagiante.

💚
Cool animation on this video
This is the shit !!!!!
I find that I have to be in the right mood to listen to this song.
A throwback to the days of Brian Jones and Their Satanic Majesties Request.
Great músic Rebop on congas
I'll always remember my father coming in my room picking up soup and saying isn't this drugs music he was a cop and an alcoholic
this song helped pull me out of a hellish narcissistic relationship.Possibly saved my life from pure hell.
Thank you for the validation I have come to the conclusion that music is the second most powerful force in the universe exceeded only by love...
Your story also strikes me on a personal level because I was in one of those relationships you described working a construction job I arrived before the rest of the crew and they had this ghetto blaster that was still turned up pretty loud from yesterday I flipped it on and I caught the first few seconds of the Eric Clapton song ' it's in the way that you use it' that music went through me like a lightning bolt reverberating into my soul at that moment I knew there was going to be light at the end of the tunnel
@@bcala777puddy tatt will make man crazy if you let it 😮

look closely at the label. M Jagger and L Richard. L? and where's the 's' in Richards? This was years after Oldham took it away for a bit.
interesting!
A hat tip to "Little Richard" maybe?
Most likely a misprint.
Not sure about the L, but Richard became Richards after the Canada legal situation
Keith says that in the early days he thought it sounded tougher without the “s”.
It was his decision.
I thought it said "can't you hear me knocking" ...lol
Likey
What guitar effects are being used in this song?
I Guess it's a Leslie pedal effect
💋
I can't stand it when the music stops
I believed then and now that a lot of this was Brian. Brian Jones in the STones vault. And the other part is that, in their sTonedness, they, the band put this together as an unsaid but dear, posthumous tribute to the founder of their legendary band. "Sometimes I 'm walking on air...and I get scared." Etc. Whatever the truth is Brians' soul and his music pores through this.
HERMOSO TEMA!! QUE GRANDES SON LA PUTA MADRE
I've always liked the lyrics to Stones songs much better than The Beatles (or any individual Beatle).
C'est rigolo ce décompte
What's up STONES 😆 isn't it about time ?
Goust town
There is a lot of explaining to do about GOATS...I personally l p v e them...their cheese especially..once I met a group of them on the slope of a Pac.Palisades hill..they were grazing there peacefully all summer..until there was no more grass..I missed them when they were gone.
Why they use a goat's head as symbol of the DEVIL (or the God of d i v i s i o n ,BAPHOMET ) will always remain a mystery to me...at least until.I have understood more about ALCHEMY..where I still feel as a TOTAL BEGINNER...
when I hear the guitar make me wanna move
🖖🎸❤💕❤🙏👍🎸
What a f... Piano!
Unreal World Studio ..the distorted Leslie rotary guitar is awesome too!..
Okay 1+1: ) 3 sq so whats up thkx is diff but I like it...
Guitar.

Has to one of the just Jagger tracks that mostly works. This would get worse however.
