khanda also means death-
the amrit is metaphorically stired with death - how can a sikh fear death if they have drank the amrit stired with a khanda
the entire ceremony and kakkars have a deep spritual meaning.
e.g the karra being round- representing god- god has no begining or ending
the sword to protect all people regardless of religion race gender etc..
the ideal sikh is a saint soldier- first a saint, then a soldier

all sikhs folow the same religions and it does not have denominations
sikhs are either khalsa- or non khalsa, khalsa following all the reheat maradyas and code of conduct of sikhism.
alot of sikhs look amritdhari as they might keep long hair, and wear a karra, and not the other k's
sikhism rejects ritials- and superstitions -
this is a ceremony not a ritual.
the double edged sword represents god destructive and creative powers.

Kirpan (a dagger)
Kesa (uncut hair)
Kangha (comb)
Kacch (short pants)
Kara (a steel bracelet worn on the right wrist)

Soooo true! Sikhi is a Religion not sect. Ceremony not ritual. The true deeper meanings of khanda double edged sword and other key markers are not represented well. This is preschool level of education. Shame on this poorly executed lame attempt of introducing anyone to a understanding of what it is to be a Sikh and the Khalsa.

Some believe that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj gave the keski or turban as one of the 5ks where as keeping Kesh is not a Kakkar but a vow not to cut it is a Sikh vow in general and required of the Khalsa. So you see nowadays, very few Amritdhari women are not wearing Keski or rumal or some type of Dumalla. But you do not have to be Amritdhari to wear a turban.
The ਸਿੰਘ speaking is Bhai Joginder Singh Ji Talwara of AKJ. Sikhs of AKJ for them Keski (small Turban) is the Kakar instead of kes. Because Kes is kept regardless.

رَجُلٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ إِيمَانَهُ أَتَقْتُلُونَ رَجُلاً
أَن يَقُولَ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَقَدْ جَاءكُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَإِن
يَكُ كَاذِباً فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُ وَإِن يَكُ صَادِقاً يُصِبْكُم بَعْضُ الَّذِي
يَعِدُكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ كَذَّابٌ
A believer, a man from
among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said: "Will ye
slay a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah'?- when he has indeed come to you
with Clear (Signs) from your Lord? and if he be a liar, on him is (the sin of)
his lie: but, if he is telling the Truth, then will fall on you something of
the (calamity) of which he warns you: Truly Allah guides not one who
transgresses and lies!
يَا قَوْمِ
لَكُمُ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ظَاهِرِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَن يَنصُرُنَا مِن بَأْسِ
اللَّهِ إِنْ جَاءنَا قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَا أُرِيكُمْ إِلَّا مَا أَرَى وَمَا
أَهْدِيكُمْ إِلَّا سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ
"O my People!
Yours is the dominion this day: Ye have the upper hand in the land: but who
will help us from the Punishment of Allah, should it befall us?" Pharaoh
said: "I but point out to you that which I see (myself); Nor do I guide
you but to the Path of Right!"
وَقَالَ
الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ الْأَحْزَابِ
Then said the man who
believed: "O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of
disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)!-
مِثْلَ دَأْبِ
قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ
ظُلْماً لِّلْعِبَادِ
"Something like
the fate of the People of Noah, the 'Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came
after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to his Servants.
وَيَا قَوْمِ
إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ التَّنَادِ
"And O my people!
I fear for you a Day when there will be Mutual calling (and wailing),-
يَوْمَ
تُوَلُّونَ مُدْبِرِينَ مَا لَكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ
اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ
"A Day when ye
shall turn your backs and flee: No defender shall ye have from Allah: Any whom
Allah leaves to stray, there is none to guide...
وَلَقَدْ
جَاءكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا
جَاءكُم بِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ مِن بَعْدِهِ
رَسُولاً كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُّرْتَابٌ
"And to you there
came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of
the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: 'No
messenger will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as
transgress and live in doubt,-
الَّذِينَ
يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ كَبُرَ مَقْتاً
عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كَذَلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ
قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ
"(Such) as
dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them,
grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the
Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate
Transgressors."

Thatguyisfat1 no there are sects like namdhari,ravidassia and maybe udasi and nirmala as many of them are more hindu than sikhs but yes there are different groups but who are all sikhs
Guru Word, Sat Sri Akal , Sadar ji Bhot Acha Dharm hai aur Bhot Acha log hai ..Bhot loyal aur Trustworthy hai aur make Bhot Acha Dosti ..with the majority of Sadar ji you can trust them. Of course not All because there always a mix of people in all religions and cultures but the majority of Sadar would protect even a stranger of need help. Sadar ji are on the whole loyal,Kind hearted, Strong in body, mind and spirit and easy to trust. If your in India or anywhere a Sikh will almost always help if needed. They are opposite to cowards and I have much Respect for Sadar ji and their Dharma. Of course I love other people's and religions of India but i needed to point out My feelings about Sikhs...Namaskar Mera Sadar ji Dosti hai ..🙏🙏
We have serious objection to calling Sikh Religion a sect !!!!! Also to the showing a man 'praying' with a string of beads !!

Sikh is the best religion with astounding history of humanity, courage and spirituality combined all togather. Sikh gurus were highest degree of spiritual satguru or Masters. No comparison with any other saint in their time and even before that. The most amazing live bestow on people in that time.

@WORLDARYANREVIVAL its not a superstition buddy. its a part of being a Sikh with out the 5Ks your not a sikh. If this wast not important it wouldn't have been created by the Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Every sikh in their life wants to be a part of this at one point in their life.
You don't need the 5 K's to be a Sikh. They are only tools that serve as reminders as to how you should conduct yourself. Most Sikhs want to wear them but wearing them is not what makes you a Sikh. Following Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being a Sikh.

Sikhism is a religion not a Dharma. All the 10 so called Sikh Gurus were Hindus none was Sikh as Sikhism was not there till the last Guru Govind Singh. In fact none was real spiritual Guru. Nanak had not studied the Hindu Shastras and he used to criticize Hinduism as it was beyond his understanding (Samajhdani). Other nine Gurus were simply care taker of Hindu organization to protect Hindus from atrocities of Muslims. No doubt they were brave, sacrificed their lives and children to protect Hindus from Muslims, but not spiritual Guru.
So many words written, and yet so little understanding or wisdom.
I am sorry but you are wrong , the sikh guru may have started as vaishnav (a sect in Hindiusm) , but they were educated in hindu shastra , remember that they were khatris and they were all educated , infact the guru granth was compiled by them in their lifetime. They were formed to fight injustice and not to protect hindus . They were formed against both hinduism and islam.
Haha you evens don't now the correct name of 10th Guru . It's GOBIND not govind and you even don't know what to drink milk or urine of cow and you are here interfering in another religion .. do deep study in sikhi and you will see how 10 gurus completely rejected Hinduism 😂😂 ..all 10 gurus had same thinking
