      Jazz B Absoluly NOT, the Guru is the ONLY one Sikhs should bow to. Our Elders and Parents are corrupt with the 5 evils and are not worthy of being bowed to. The Guru is perfect and will always remain with you when your parents and elders will not.

      The Turbanator That's obvious that Guru is perfect. Bowing to your parents does not by any means indicate that they are perfect, on the contrary, it's a very respectful thing to do.

      Thanks for saying that. Actually I’m trying to learn about the history, culture, language, religion etc as I grew up in westernised house, even tho both my parents can speak Punjabi fluently, they never did to me. Only when they was shouting 🤣.
      And also I do feel the superiority complex from some punjabis, which is fine. I can understand they see me as a gora kind of thing, but I definitely don’t feel an inclusion to the culture etc. But I have been studying as much as I can independently for the last 10 years. Since I was 16 :) I feel bad when I do things that go against sikhi, like have a haircut etc but like he said in the video, if you’re not amritdhari then you haven’t committed sins cos you haven’t been initiated. But still I know in my heart what I should be doing. Respecting the ancestors ways etc.

    A sehajdhari was a name given to Sikhs in Sindh. The modern definition of Sehajdhari comes from the SGPC Act which was made after 1947. The particular term referring to Sehajdhari was forced into the act by the Congress government.

    • @japneetkaur7933
      @japneetkaur7933 7 років тому +3

      Barjinder Pannu In my humble view ; from what I understand, no, that won't make you a patit. Amritvela can be taken to be every hour , every breath spent in remembrance of Guru Maharaj, the more specific would be , getting up for those hours before dawn when the world is asleep ,and to chant the Naam then. That is like one more paurhi, one more step towards the Guru, a brilliant and most important addition , however, you're not a patit if you're struggling to get up. Patit is one who breaks the basic rules, the rehat.

    • @japneetkaur7933
      @japneetkaur7933 7 років тому +1

      Barjinder Pannu Veerji it is true that those hours are somewhat special and truly important, because that is when one can concentrate the best, the vibes in that hour are different , it is like, what one gurupyaare mataji used to say, like being amongst the very first at the Guru's Dar, the Guru's attention is all yours to get. So yes, it is very important and the vibes then are amazing, beyond compare.

    A very nice video with a wonderful message.
    Though I have one question, I have seen many Hindus, especially Sindhi Hindus(Hindus with sindhi mother tongue) they every year organise Sukhmani Paath in their homes, also in their marriage, though they marry in a Hindu temple, but their marriage is not considered complete if the couple does not visit a Gurudwara.....
    They say that all 10 gurus are their Gurus, Gurugranth Sahib is their Guru, they even organise langer at a very large scale during Guru Nanak Jayanti, but they also pray to lord Laxmi during Diwali, they also go to temples....
    In which category will one put them? Can they be considered as sikhs?

      @Josh ジョシュ A Sikh is someone who surrenders to the Guru Sahibaan, if they take someone else as their Guru than they haven't surrendered to our Guru Sahibaan. Guru Nanak Dev Ji says:
      If you desire to play this game of love with Me,
      Then step onto My Path with your head in hand.
      When you place your feet on this Path.
      Give Me your head, and do not pay any attention to public opinion.
      Second, worship of hindu deities is done through idols, which is completely wrong. There are many verses against idol worship. Some of time are quit harsh. Let's not commit the actions Guru Sahib forbid.

    In islam theres a major historical split. Shia-sunni!!! In islam allah can only pass judgement. At the time of the prophet a new muslim was peeing in corner of the masjid. The prophet stopped the sahaba from stopping him.
    In islam we dont know our own individual salvation, then how can we pass judgement on another human being. I found the gudwara having good points, but its vvv judgemental, i was doing a wedding video n was told to cover my hair!!! In a masjid generally people do their own thing n not concentrate on the other.
    The attraction to islam is the seerah of the prophet. Theres allot of propaganda, but at its core he was a great example of how to live your life.

      I know this might be hard to believe but once you have found the true waheguru inside you by doing simran repeatedly for at least 6 hours a day, each and every strand of hair will start uttering the name of waheguru in your subconscious just like breathing. By doing this you will find true bliss and peace in your mind.
      There is also scientific research on how cutting hair repeatedly from generation to generation can lead the future generations to become born blind. I also know that this most likely means nothing to you but once that inner belief and trust in waheguru comes you will definitely believe that keeping hair is one of the keys to finding bliss.
