I've never watched this channel before. Is it always like this? I feel like I'm just hanging with friends. A little banter, a little knowledge, a little more banter... some guy listening in and adding his two cents from the other room. LOL I love these people!
I can’t tell you how much this video means to me. I have THE SAME nail clubbing due to a chronic lung condition. I’ve always hated getting my nails done because it seems no one in the southern United States uses forms to sculpt extensions. So I would either get curly claws or have an extra space between the glued on nail tip and natural nail (gross). So thank you for doing this video. And thank you to your cousin for being vulnerable with us.
Hi Kirsty! ..I’ve ridden horses all my life too, and my nails are exactly the same! Same pitting in the thumb.. natural deep c nail beds that club down if they have any length.. 🙈 When I apply my acrylic I do the exact same shape as you did, (no forms cuz I don't need the length) only I do an acrylic overlay, and add much more product on the tips, and then take the excess away from underneath with the efile, I can get the straight side walls too.. This shape is extra strong and they never break, and everyone always comments on my nails.. (if they could only see what’s underneath lol) I think we get the clubbing and wonky nails from holding the reins so much! But also mine are like this due to rare auto immune disease.. You are so right, just because they don't look normal, doesn't mean that you can't wear enhancements! It helps confidence no end. Thanks so much for doing this video, perfection as always 🥰 Love the chilled house 90's vibe music in this one 👌🏽 Love from Derry in N Ireland 💕🌸
So curious for your next video! I have problems with this on both of my pointing (?) fingers and one thumb. What is your solution when the natural nail has grown underneath .... Thanx for all your beautiful video's!! Greetings from The Netherlands. 😍 Laura.
Hi, Jo! Welcome to the fam!! Kirsty, you are such a good teacher. I always learn something, and the education is delivered with such humour from you all. Xx
I have the same problem but in my case is because I developed arthritis and it’s horrible not only painful but it’s crazy how the shape of my nails had changed and I use to grow beautiful gorgeous nails , now I learned how to do nails that way I can do my own the way that I like them. Thanks so much for sharing such great information and you are one of the best .... I just love your work and your ideas. Thanks so much for sharing them and many Blessings!
When I got my license, I was taught that the white half moon is the lunula and is the visible portion of the matrix. That’s why any damage that she received to that area is permanent and she’s always had the indents. Beautiful set, as always!
I thank you so much for teaching this. I just thought the other day, write everyone has perfect nails. Lol. That's what I need... is to learn how to troubleshoot when nails are not perfect before the service. Thank you again Kristy!
When I first started doing nails, I HATED this shape, like I hated it with a passion. Recently though, I've started to like it more and this set is absolutely beautiful! Still not a shape I would choose for my nails because I don't really think it would be a good fit for my nails but I can really appreciate it on others
Most people with clubbed fingers, they are super insecure. I never say anything mean to clients about there nail beds or fingers. I try to let them know this is part of our job, everyone has different shapes and sizes. Our job is to transform, educate, and have them leave feeling amazing. 💅🏼💅🏼
I’ve watched this video already, but want to see it over and over so I can do it myself. I’ll practice on my practice hand first and hopefully I can do it too.
One of my clients had clubbed nail we always have trouble with it can be stressfull good job she my best friend 🤣 but I'll try your method out next week love your videos can't wait to see what her nails looks like when they have growth 😊 x x
This videos has been the most informative of all videos. Especially because I have nails like this. I started to learn to do my own nails with your videos because nails from a salon wouldn’t last more than a week or 12 days and they would tell me it’s cause my nails are funky or I don’t take care of them(which is true. I’m a nervous nail biter buuut this makes me feel less self conscious.) CANNOT wait for the design video and the update of her growth and rebalance!! Thank you so much. I’m crying!! 😘
I am so glad you did this video!! In some instances Clubbed fingers can indicate a thyroid problem. I say this because I have hyperthyroidism/Graves Disease. I don’t yet have the type of clubbing your cousin does but my fingers have changed over time and I sweat more than most including my fingers. I have to make sure my nails and fingers are super dry and dehydrated before I put any kind of enhancement on. Thanks so much Kirsty!! I am so inspired by you! 🥰
Love watch u work and hearing explanations for what we encounter and what to do🎉 have you done any reviews on full cover gel extensions, I'd love to c which brands u rate❤️
So glad to see this video. I was only wondering yesterday what the best way to deal with nails like this as I've two on each hand that tend to do it too. Thanks so much kirsty. X
Love these educational videos geared towards nail anatomy! I specialize in exotic nail shapes including Russian almond so this was great watching them applied to clubbed nails🧡
wow this is amazing to watch. i dont think i could do what you do. ive never had to do nails like that before. good job too lol i would make a right mess. xxx
Such a beautiful shape. Can you do a video where you explain how you do this modern almond shape? I’d like to do it myself but couldn’t see it properly in the video.
Hahaha I had to look up Megan Fox’s thumb to understand and boy do I understand now!! Love your channel Kirsty not only for the amazing info but for the fun and humor!
I'm not a nail tech I just do my nails, but I have the hardest time with my thumbs and it's because of this I never knew they were becoming clubbed thank you
Can you do a video explaining some different drill bits? I have one with a top that's shaped like a donut but I don't know what it's for... Thank you always for the great content!
@@yvonneburns2786 thank you! I wish I could show a pic of it, I got it from one of the salon shops for those who are licensed and I saw a lot of bits I'd never seen before.
@@dansetteameliawilson3227 perhaps some of the bits are for pedicure as well, as i've seen them do the acrylics/ gel on the toenails in some of the other channels.
Beautif set ~ but that's a given ~ Your work is simply impeccable ... Congratulations on moving forward into the next exciting part of you... : ). I have a quick question; where can I buy one of the metal file base - that you use to stick the disposable emery papers on please??? I have looked through your site and couldn't find them. ; (. .... The system you have is a brilliant way to negate any health issues or concerns ... Have smiley day... SHEZ from Western Australia
I have long nail beds and big half moons, and always thought them clumsy and awkward. Since having an autoimmune thyroid illness my nails have become clubbed and grow on what I call 'the wonk'. I do however have a very pronounced c curve naturally when my nails grow, they grow squarely oval without me filing them. I think these nude nails look stunning.
I can't fussy my nails up because I work in healthcare (I would LOVE a long almond set), but I enjoy watching your videos. I really liked you explaining about the growing process and the moon of the nails. Keep up the great work Kirsty! Also, Adam's "More like a premonition" killed me haha
Please can we have a full anatomy of the nail video, parts, things to look for, any issues that can be improved with ongoing maintenance (not how to correct as you cover them well when they appear in models videos)
Can you do a video for nails that grow up? It makes me hate my nails. Sometimes my nails turn out ok and sometimes it looks like they’re pointing straight up.
Nails that are clubbed and pitted can be an early sign of heart or lung disease, caused by low oxygen levels in your blood. If your nails weren't always clubbed and are starting to, it's worth a visit to your doc. Take care y'all! 💕
Have you ever come across nails that warp? As in, the side walls are higher than the center along the free edge? Most of my nails warp in this fashion and even though I love having my nails done I haven’t in a very long time because everyone seems to want to e-file the warp into shape which leaves me with impossibly thin natural nails. They are already decently thin to begin with. My nails hurt so bad for a week after.
I noticed my nails curving not soon after I got covid, but I have thyroid and I'm anemic, it's sucks cuz it's my nails they can't get long at all I have to keep them basically cut to top of finger cuz they curve so much. I'm hoping getting my nails done will help. Thank u for video😊😊
Kristy, do you have a video on how to create the “lunar” look ? I like the way those half moons look and my thumb nails have a very small one. I was told it was because I had “extra calcium” under my nail.
My nails roll. the nail on the side is now touching the side of the next finger.. 3 nails do this, the fingers are straight. What can you do? I like a lot of others are doing my own nails due to covid and lack of income.. ;)
Those bumps and grooves in the nails, while they can be caused by certain illnesses, are quite often caused by past injuries to the nail bed itself, i.e. slamming the finger in a door. The soft nail passes over the scarring as it grows following the dips and pits in the nail bed. As long as there's no inflammation or pain, it's usually nothing to worry about.
My daughter has the ridges on her thumbs. She used to chew on her thumbs and they fell off and grew back with the ridges. She also has one one her big toe because she dropped a plate on it and the nail fell off and grew back with the ridges.
I have the same issue on three of my nails and my doctor told me it's trauma to my matric. She gave me steroid cream for it and it's working. Slowly the clubbed nails are going flat. I think Jo has the same issue because her cuticle looks exactly like mine.
My understanding is that pitting and beaus lines can be caused by a number of possible factors including historical illness, deficiencies such as iron and also heart or lung conditions. Severely clubbed fingers can also occur due to heart or lung disease and is common in people with cystic fibrosis. Clubbing can also occur due to genetic predisposition to that shape and no health conditions
If you love large nail beds, you would love to work on my nails! Every nail tech I’ve ever been to talks about how much the love doing my nails because it’s so much space. I do my own nails now and I think it helps me a lot as well.
