Edge Nails Using Tips, Compact Chrome, and Mylar!

Welcome back to the KIRSTY MEAKIN SHOW! Today we have the fabulous Fay in and she’s stressing because she’s not in control.
I’m going to be starting by fitting the tips and shaping them to add in the spine and the russian almond tip, before glueing them to the nail. I’m then going to file the nails so they run in line with the natural nail and blend in the tip with the natural nail.
I’m going to sculpt out a smile line over the natural nail with acrylic, file that smile line, which is where we start filing the spine, make sure you keep the file flat with the nail to keep that shape. Then go in with black gel polish over the wall of acrylic and down about 2/3 of the nail, leaving the very tip blank.
I’m then adding in my chromes, I found the compact chromes work a lot better out of this selection. I’m then going in with the Nail Perfect Fibre gel to stick the mylar and glitter
The camera’s didn’t record the next step, but I applied acrylic gel to fill the rest of the nail.
This next step is the most important, which is filing the edge nail into shape, you need to make sure you keep the file flat, flat, flat against that edge to really define the spine and get it as sharp as possible. I’m going to finish off with gems and top coat, because Fay can’t live without bling.

Faye has so little trust for receiving nails from one of the best techs in the world 😂
I'd love to have kirsty do my nails. I've watched hundreds of nail techs on UA-cam but there's something special about Kirsty.

Same here but sadly I’m allergic to gels and acrylics. 😭😩
Her technique is immaculate, she’s a perfectionist lots of the insta nails have many flaws and just don’t get the structure of the nail right.

I always watch to the end because you’re one of the few channels that takes us basically through the whole process and doesn’t cut a whole bunch of it out it’s nice to watch the video that’s longer than 20 minutes thank you sweetie and yes I love Fay
These turned out amazing! I do think when kirsty was hitting her mic it may have messed something up because it was very hard to hear at some points. But the nails are STUNNING!!

I think the long edge nails are the most beautiful of all nail shapes

These are friggin out as this world. I have learned everything from Kirsty practically. I’ve went from not knowing anything to people asking my sister where do you get your nails 💅 done because they like them so much. Nothing like learning how to do nails from UA-cam (Kirsty Meakin ) & (Dorota Palicka when you’re 59 years old. Lol !!!!

I’m 58 and started learning nails because I needed a new occupation due to a painful disability. I’ve learned from Kirsten, Dorothy and took the nail building courses from NailsProAcademy. Now to go to school to prepare for the exam so I can actually make money doing nails. Who’d a thought I’d go back to school at almost 60 years old.

I love the way the nails look at the 17min mark. Like nails for a monster in a horror movie. Maybe like a razor beast (death by 1,000 cuts?) I know Kirsty said she would love to do costume nails for movies. I hope she gets the chance, I bet she would create something amazing.

Hands down the best shape for long nails. Absolutely gorgeous darling ha ha ha. I would think the only way with acrylic that shadows is to treat it like acrylic that marbles and mix it on the nail a little. One of the best sets you’ve ever done ❤️🇦🇺
