I'm going to go out and just say it ... this will be game changing. So glad devices like this are becoming a reality. As much as gaming laptops have their place, this is what I've always dreamed of.
This is great on a lot of different levels. I suspect that ASUS may respond with an updated ROG Ally that is comparable or improved. It adds another handheld to the market, so more visibility and adoption by gamers. And if Intel did by chance get the tech right then it could be a game changer as well. Time will tell for sure. I wouldn’t buy this device on day one as I would not be surprised if the firmware and drivers need time to mature just like the Ally and Legion Go. It may be worth picking up closer to the holidays if all goes well.

Does anyone know what modding games on these like Dayz and Rust is like? for example playing modded servers? had a look at the steam deck but there is little to no information on it but from what I was able to find it didn't work very well. I'm hoping because this uses windows it would work?
@@reticulizeta7351 It matches your refresh rate of the screen to the fps you're receiving in game. it's used to get rid of screen tearing and stuttering mostly. Definitely helps the experience.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Windows on a handheld without a trackpad seems misserable...as if Windows alone on a tiny touch screen isn't already horrible enough, you have to use the touch screen to hit the tiny icons or the joy stick...I"d definitely prefer to have a track pad like the Steam Deck or the Legion Go.
The ROG Ally fixes this problem by having the right thumbstick emulate a mouse. Works surprisingly well. Also the ROG Ally have a pretty decent Armory Create system on top of Windows, that you can mostly use to forget about the Windows part. Just browse you're game library from there. I have the ROG Ally and it isn't tedious at all. I love my device, and the more I use it, the more I love it.
Hopefully Microsoft won't miss this opportunity again. They should start to cater specific needs of Handheld. They already failed in Mobile before this is their chance to redeem themselves. I love to see more competitions in this area of PC Handheld and we are happy MSI joined the party.
Honestly. Microsoft would do good with a portable gaming device like this. Able to play downscaled xbox titles as well as use the xbox cloud would honestly be really good. but it needs really good wifi chip. Also be able to use it with the xbox as a controller like the WiiU. Able to go through the xbox menus while in game but on the table screen, in game chat on the screen, game maps on the screen, game menus on the screen. Honestly. Want to see more console tablet pairings.
Hopefully this does well. Looking at this personally I'm not interested. This just looks like an Intel version of the Asus ROG Ally, and i wasn't very interested in that. I think the only handheld PC ive been interested in other than the Deck is the Legion Go because of its Switch-like appearance and how you can use the detachable controllers as a pseudo mouse and keyboard. But, I'm very satisfied with my Steam Deck OLED and will most likely be waiting until Valve decides to release another handheld. I do like seeing these competitor handhelds come out, PC gaming is only getting bigger and these handhelds are great gateway introductions for console players.
If I had to buy a handheld console right now, obviously I would had to go with the Ayaneo Kun. However, since I would had to prostitute myself on the streets to get that handheld, something that I refuse, I will wait for the next Lenovo Legion Go 2.
Good luck to MSI. I always use their products in building PC. I never yet use Steam Deck but despite all the good hardware specs of PC Handheld I am still rooting toward STEAM DECK. It seems they are leaning toward FUN Experience. This is similar formula to Nintendo. If I want FULL power I will go to my PC but if I want games on the go I might go with STEAM DECK but for now I will keep my NSW besides me until I will have enough budget to buy new handheld.

ok lets do a cut the bullshit review of msi claw 1. rog ally and lenovo legion go have the same windows 11 so 1:26 cut the bullshit rog ally has windows and the legion go too has it 2. this machine dosent have the biggest battery life of all cause if you put cyberpunk at ultra 240 fps it barely stands for 1 hour 3. the price is just trash i mean u can buy a steam deck and put windows but this is not worth it
Wouldn't call it a review, more of a preview, the Ally and Go do not have Windows 11 Pro, if I was going to play a game like Cyberpunk on any of my handhelds I would be playing plugged in, price seems to be inline with competitors, not a number they just pulled out of their a$$s. Most people would think trying a to put Windows on a Steam Deck would be going backwards.

I dont know how Intel could be more efficient than AMD like you said, specially in a small device and its not even a custom chip. Cuz in my common knowledge Intels game is More Watts= More Performance & More Heat and wont even bother fixing efficiency, they fix performance by pushing more watts again and more cooling capabiltiy(vents/fans). Isnt that the reason until now theres only AMD’s in a handheld?

the benchmark for handhelds right now is whether or not it can run alan wake 2 somewhat decently. thats the kind of handheld im waiting for.

You missed acouple important points. Bigger battery yes, but it doesn't go below 15w. Also, the ally has the VRR screen not the msi.

I have steam deck, ROG ally, and recently got Lenovo legion go.. The onexplayer 2 is still better than all the rest.. However msi claw is interesting
