the battery is massive and impressive! and the performance is up to 43% higher with an update on the BIOS and Intel drive, according to MSI in a forum post.

I have a lot of support for this device I love it a lot, I don’t understand why people hate on this, they also hated on the rog ally, steam deck and legion go, I have a lot of faith that in the next couple of months with updates and tweaks, msi could make this one of the best handhelds of all time if they keep pushing and I do believe that they will, but msi is a legendary company and like I said earlier I believe that this will be a beast of a system in the next 3 months but you guys have a great day stay safe 👍
No one remembers all the handhelds started with issues and were not fully developed. They all improved with drivers and updates and they got lucky at a time that Fsr was improving. The Claw has great buttons hall sense sticks great haptics and amazing speakers you feel the bass. And it also has I believe a better screen then the Rog ally.
Very good point but the i5 Processor will still be the bottle neck for the Ultra 5 version. It does perform very well tough and with continued software and bois updates, it'll just get better!

It's pretty cool to see all sorts of hardware powering these gadgets. And hey, it's also a neat playground for boosting Intel ARC tech, which is awesome because it amps up the competition in the GPU game, benefitting us gamers!
Your call out about XeSS would carry more weight if you had tested XeSS on the Claw vs FSR on an AMD one and got better performance / watt that way. People who did test that still got better efficiency on AMD-based handhelds...

Definitely, and with the new bios update, the claimed figures look much better!
I have a 65w 30,000MaH power bank I use with my MSI claw, sure solves the battery issues and I can get hours of high performance gameplay.

I think the claw and the legion go are the best options as they support options for open source egpu. The rog ally cant.

The ultra 5 RAM is clocked higher and it pretty much trades with the Ultra 7. I'd give a look at the Ultra 5 135h version.

flash msi claw bios 106 and update drivers to intel arc 5445 and install intel xess 1.3
