Very accurate. It is a wage and training issue. Not a shortage issue.
Salary is definitely a big factor for pilot retention, but certainly not the only one.
A reliable schedule is a very important issue for us, as time away from our families is time we will never recoup.
I have only worked for one ‘corporate’ flight department where we were treated like an on call commodity.
It was the worst experience of my career, and nearly ended my marriage.
I left that position, and went to the airlines. Best decision ever, even with an initial decrease in salary.
Family first has always been my foundation too. I have seen so many pilots end up divorcing and it is a sad thing to see.
For a business owner, deals that require travel don't always come about on a predictable schedule. What are some things the business owner can do to balance that with the need for the pilots to have a predictable, stable home life?
@@parnellspeed5755 Adequate staffing, for one.
So let's schedule the emergency patients in a hosptial so that doctors can have 9-5 jobs. Doesn't work that way. In the case of private jet pilots, you provide them with a proper salary and benefits package. Second, instead of hiring 2 pilots always "on call", you hire 4 pilots so that they can rotate so that a couple them can normally count on time off. It's not for everyone. Airlines do have a more stable schedule. Doctors can find 9-5 jobs too if that is what they want.
@@robertemard9452 My point exactly!👍
This video talks about high end salaries. What about middle and low end... both in terms of career and size of aircraft.
350k plus benefits a year is nice, I always wondered how the pilot gets paid and if they are on stand by.Like you said there a big part of the flight so it's good to make sure everyone is happy. And yeah 20million for a plane you can afford to give 350k ×10=3,500,000 10being 10 years.Huge differents so dont be cheap and pay your pilot's or learn to fly yourself.
The safety record is worst on a private jet? The only time I have heard that is by people that lump private jets in with all of general aviation.
A packet of crisps and a big lollipop
ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!!
